Sec reportedly launches investigation into insider trading on exchanges, and maybe a couple applause in the back of the room of like whoa, the sec is actually looking into people for insider training. There's some question marks about it and here's what you need to know the commission could be performing routine checkups on the exchange in question, or it could be looking for specific compliance violations to litigate against. So the question is: are they actually looking for something, or is this just a generic routine checkup? According to fox business, there was a person with direct knowledge of the scc's activities, said that the commission had sent a letter to a major crypto exchange requesting information about how the platform protects users from insider trading. The source believes the same later has been sent to multiple exchanges.
The nature of the inquiry is unclear. The sec has been seeking out leads to litigate against the exchange's potential legal violations via the enforcement division, or it could be a routine compliance check, so it could go either way, but at least it's better than nothing allegations of insider trading at the largest nft marketplace. Open c have caught the attention the sec in recent weeks uh, we actually know someone like there was the first person getting prosecuted for nft insider trading um. That was a crazy story in itself that we covered.
You can find a video about it. Uh, we have it previously on our channel catalog, but the sec is looking into this stuff and recently with gary gensler, he had a big talk. It sounds like excluding bitcoin. It sounds like the sec is going to come down pretty hard on crypto.
It sounds like there's about, and this is what michael seller was referring to earlier today, with his interview on cnbc. It really does sound like they're, going to accuse over 19 000, maybe 19 800 of actually being securities, and the only way i think bitcoin's gon na get out on skates is really just because gary gensler, the chairman of the sec, said himself that bitcoin is a Commodity, he went out of his way to call it a commodity and then the other ones he's saying yeah. No, it looks like they're selling something to raise funds and that's kind of the definition of the howie test, so some crazy stuff, but at least they're looking into people. Even if it's a minimum of looking into the insider training and nfts hey, i will take it.
fun fact: in one of the episodes of “Friends” Phoebe said something about insider trading ; making money to help with her triplets. needless to say.. we’ve been known about it.. and its taken THIS long…
