But anyway, maybe we should talk about what's going on in the world markets. I Guess before we do that, is everyone having a good day? Anyone having a particularly good day? A particularly bad day? We're multiple teams put together as one giant team.

So if someone's having a bad day I Think we could offer some good advice to really turn it around my whatever your bad day is like before you get into it. my first piece of advice is start with an ice bath. A little bit of an update for all of you on my ice bath. Journey I've finally been able to get it into the upper 40s at a pretty steady temperature.

I've been having the worst time dropping the temperature dropping it. So what I've been doing now is I bought these like weird ice packs mixed things off of Amazon So I threw it in there and it still wasn't enough. They like weren't they? I think they like hold their temperature but they're not that cold so they didn't drop the water accordingly. So now what I've been doing is taking gallon Ziploc bags, filling that up with tap water and freezing that.

so I get these like big chunks of ice. so I've been throwing some of those in there and that helped. but I think I need more I started with four but I think I'm going to do like I don't know 8 10 12. I think I just need massive chunks of ice that I can throw in before I do cardio and then come back like a half hour later 45 minutes later and see if that like drops the temperature enough.

If any of you have been doing like an at-home type of a thing for these ice baths and you just maybe you know the tip that like I need because like I can't seem to I'm have like no matter what I do I'm not even really getting into the low 40s no less sub 40 and I want to get it as cold as I possibly can. um so if you guys have any tips, that's probably the major thing you want to reach out to me. um I mean I could get the bags of ice but like that means every day like I'm in New York So I'm gonna have to be walking around just bags of ice every day and my girlfriend my completely real girlfriend I might add um is already getting pissed about how much like freezer space I'm taking up like I'm just there's like weird water Contraptions getting Frozen every single day and like I've basically made my freezer uh, unusable. so I don't know I'm sure some get a freezer chest I live in New York Folks, it's not like I have unlimited space.

so I I don't know. So that's the major tip that people are giving me. try salt that I just haven't done it yet. Um, so maybe I should try that.

It's a race hypothermia versus a thousand dollars in profit and you guys could even. We'll take sub bets. Uh, we'll do that on the polls.

We'll start polls and you guys could be like I think he's gonna make the money today or I think he's gonna get hypothermia and then I like this I think we can I think we can make something work here. Why are you taking ice baths? Uh I've done zero research on it, but it's because I've heard of people who have heard of people who did research on it that they said it was like arguably good. but this is also just how I run my life in a general sense like I'm not a person who's going to be diving deep into this. It's because I know of people who know of people who know of people who say they know people that looked into it.

Uh, I refuse to look into it I'm just doing it because I'm told that it's healthy. So if you're coming to me for some sort of great biological psychological understanding of why this is or isn't beneficial I have no idea it could be completely placebo effect. There's going to be people in here who say yeah, that's stupid. Why are you taking ice baths and then there's going to be other people who are like hardcore ice bath Fanatics like myself that know about the science I don't know about it could be Placebo I Just like the mental challenge of it.

Uh, just to see if you can like stick out. that's like something that's very painful like I mean the water's cold like every time you move like you get this. almost not like shooting pain but kind of close to it like we've all been in super cold water and then you start shivering and like you know you could just get out but like then you don't like you're like watching the timer. So I like the mental challenge of it in reality.

Um, but that's where I'm at with it I I don't know. I'll rip through this in like five ten minutes and then we'll switch it over to the this stream right here. The Starship flight test. Uh, but let's just get a little prepped up for the day because it is important to see the sell-off that we had overnight FRC is actually doing well gained 12.4 percent. it's down a little bit in pre-market TSM Doing well.

they beat on earnings per share missed on sales, but obviously people are liking their forward-leaning Uh numbers. Tesla On the other hand, not doing so well. At one point yesterday, as high as 183 dropped two percent and then in post-market trading because it had earnings, you could see Tesla's getting murked right now trading at 165. stock futures fall as investors parse corporate earnings, so little good news.

A little bad news, but obviously the bad news is currently out weighing everything else. Treasury Yields follows: investors weigh interest rate Outlook As of now, the Dow, the S P, and the NASDAQ are all red. Red red oil is actually taking a noteworthy hit not long ago. Is that 83? Now we're down to 78 yields coming in.

Yields are essentially break even in terms of today. Everyone get on the newsletter if you're not a member of the newsletter yet. But of what I want you to know is today's seasonality. It is bearish.

Not absurdly bearish, but it is bearish. Um, the Bulls have won 56 percent of the time, but the times that the Bears have won have clearly outweighed in terms of magnitude relative to when the Bulls won. So we are trending down. This is today's individual day pass tested over the past 25 years.

Here's the equity curve. Obviously it's a P L loss and then he's here's every single individual day over the past 25 years. At first it was kind of a nothing day and then recently ever since over the past 15 years. So like 2010 until now, we've been slowly but surely trending down on this individual day and then all my positions and whatnot.

But what I want you to know is so today. uh TSM Already ported last night we got Tesla Tesla as you can see is definitely getting hit. Uh I Wanted to do a quick check in on Crypto, bouncing back a little bit but recently had a vomit. So just so you know, uh, and then Virtue is reporting if you want to pay attention, the market makers tomorrow PNG Uh, good to know what's going on with PNG in terms of consumer strength, retail sales, whatnot.

And then Sean Berger is always good to know what's going on in the world of Black Gold AKA Oil. In terms of Market events today I mean Thursdays are busy days so we already got the jobless claims came out at 8 30. we're getting home sales at 10 A.M U.S Leading economic indicators once again at 10 A.M And then we have a whole host of Fed members speaking today, starting at 12, ending at five. Uh, but Fed members I guess are doing their rounds right before the blackout period which I believe starts next week.

They do no public interaction when we get close enough to the Fomc meeting, which we get the results of that on Wednesday May 3rd which I believe is like what two and a half weeks from now, So they're probably gonna all be shutting up after this particular week or maybe Wednesday of next week. But anyway, feel free to screenshot that. but these are the major Market events for the day. So right now, not only are we paying attention to what's going on with the Starship flight test that's going to be taking off in 24 minutes this is related to SpaceX obviously NASA Obviously Elon Elon with Twitter Elon with Tesla Elon is the guy that is literally in the news every single day, so a lot of you are probably checking out old Tesla here.

Tesla Net income and earnings dropped more than 20 from last year Tesla's Q1 2023 revenues and profits came in very close to expectations Tesla specified in a shareholder deck that under utilization of new factories stress margins along with higher raw material commodity Logistics and warranty costs and lower revenue from environmental credits all contributing to a drop in earnings from last year. So their earnings per share was as expected. Their revenue actually was a slight beat. uh, 23.33 billion versus 23.21 Net Income came in about 2.51 billion down 24 from last year while Gap earnings came in at 73 down 23 from a year, ago.

Automotive Revenue Tesla's core segment reached 19.96 billion. Almost 20 billion. That's billion with a B in the corner up from 18 from last year. Total revenue was 24, but this is where things took a bit of a turn.

CEO Elon Musk Emphasized in uncertain macroeconomic environment that could impact people's car shopping plans. During a question and answer with analysts must said that he expected 12 months of quote unquote stormy weather in the economy. He cautioned that every time that the FED raised his interest rates, that's the equivalent of an increase in the price of a car. He also said that whenever there's uncertainty in the economy, people will generally postpone big New Capital purchases like a car, especially in EV which are not considered to be the cheapest options anyway.

Tesla Quarterly Revenue Beat Uh, excuse me Revs by segment. As you can see, it's a little bit of a downtick in the recent quarter that was just reported, but overall the trend is nicely still going up. It's not like every single quarter it's a beat, but that's never really been Tesla's history like we have seasonality at play. There are going to inherently be some stronger quarters than others, so even though we came down a little bit, it wasn't massively dramatic.

I Just want to be clear about it I Wouldn't be surprised if in the future Tesla stock continues to sell off I'm still a fan of Tesla as a long-term investment I Just don't want to buy at these levels I think I'll personally be able to pick up more Tesla at a cheaper level. That's just my own opinion. Maybe I'm completely wrong, but this isn't really a call out of Tesla it's a call out of what everyone was saying about the overall economy. I Do not think we are out of the wood yet I Think in terms of the market and the economy, there's still more pain to be had I Just don't think we've had our medicine yet.

This is what happens when like a drunken sailor, you're just printing money at endless endless velocity. and I don't think we're out of the wood chip. Inflation's still high. There's still some shakiness in the global economy.

In terms of yeah, what's going on with inflation, what's going on in the energy sector, the political scene. Maybe not as nice as we want it. here. in the US we have to think about what's going on with the debt ceiling, so there's still big, big uncertainties, and arguably, yeah, some things are trending in the right direction.

but then there's still some things that are not as rosy as you want them to be. And because of that, I still think that maybe a little bit of pain to be had McCarthy unveils debt ceiling bill that aims to cut big parts of Biden's agenda house. Speaker Kevin McCarthy Introduced his proposal for a temporary debt ceiling increase. He tied a potential increase to several Spanikens targeting.

President Joe Biden's agenda is not clear whether McCarthy has votes within the GOP caucus to pass the Bill house. Speaker Kevin McCarthy On Wednesday yesterday, the 19th release his plan to raise the debt ceiling by 1.5 children for about a year while attempting to repeal major components of President Joe Biden's agenda Classic politicking and here's what they all had to say on it: JP Morgan's chair of Global Research Joyce Chang It's great to have you Joyce Great to be here I Just wanted to find one place he comes in here. Where does he actually start? Is he ever gonna start? Dude? where does he join in? All right there we go. Uh, one major part that I want to hone in here walking on the floor? stop by.

Welcome, It's good to have you thank you. What is your message upstairs? What was your message and and how do you think Market should be responding to it right now? Well look. 75 days ago February Yesterday and I sat down to him and I said let's work together to be able to deal with the debt ceiling in our economy at the same time. It's the same thing that we've done all in the past.

as you've mentioned, and for 75 days, he's ignored us I want us to find a responsible, sensible way to do this. My message upstairs is: if the President won't pay attention this, if he doesn't believe that you could find one dollar in savings, Republicans in the next couple weeks will act and send a debt ceiling increase that will limit, save and grow. That will help us on economics. Growth in this country will cap spending in the future.

We'll pull back, claw back the money we appropriated for Covid but had sat dormant for two years. If it was appropriate to help you during covet and you haven't spent it, it shouldn't be spent afterwards. So find the ways we can save the taxpayer money, find a way that we can grow this economy become less dependent upon China curve our spending in the future so we can curve inflation to help every family. and I think that's sensible and responsible and we'd move the debt ceiling into the next year if the President pause it right there.

Um, once again, this is from yesterday and I just want to highlight some important things just because I did a little bit of a deeper dive into it. So really what's going on here is on the left side. The Democrats are saying hey, let's just pass a bill that raises the debt, limit the ceiling and we'll move on with our lives and the concessions of like how we're spending money where the money should be going. We'll talk about that later.

And then the Republicans especially led by Macarthy are saying no, Let's put that all together. We want to figure out what's going on with the money. and we want to make that part of the debt ceiling increase. So the Republicans at least the way they're publicly stating things, they're willing to raise the debt ceiling.

They're not coming in saying we don't want it raised at all. They're saying we're willing to do that. Yes, but we want not just your good word, but we want it actually written into law that we're going to fix some of our spending issues. and then obviously this is blown up on the political scale.

And then the left side's like, why would you even risk this But this is literally how it goes with every single debt ceiling. The party that is not in power tends to hold out to get something that's favorable for them. This isn't really abnormal for Republicans Or democrats. They both do the exact same thing.

So and then I love this. and like I could show you all the things that I read yesterday of every single time it happens, the other side is saying oh my, God Why would you play with the American economy like this? Why would you play with the financial stability of your constituents like this? They're always saying that about the opposite side endlessly whenever this happens I find it crazy, a little bit humorous and I guess it's not that funny, but if you don't laugh at it, you'll end up screaming Sugar Prices Spike to an 11 year high and could raise further due to extreme weather Sugar Fundamentals are quite bullish for the price to remain elevated in the short to medium term. prices have been driven up by unusual rainfall in India a poor European beet crop, summer drought conditions as well as OPEC plus oil output Cuts So this is a little bit. we've been talking about the Commodities Market but if you check out sugar, it's at an 11 year high and it looks like things are pointing it to go higher and higher and higher.

So for those of you who are maybe looking for a bit more of a we'll call it an exotic trade, an exotic investment you might want to look at Sugar There's a couple ways you can get involved in with this. Yes, it's in the Futures Market There are ETFs that track it. make sure you're looking at the average volume. There's a couple ETFs that I found Some have way more volume than others so you might want to stick with the more popular ones just because they have more liquidity.

But overall, sugar, raw sugar is ripping ripping ripping. So maybe for the people in here who are like I want to trade something that I've never heard of before, you might want to be checking out sugar. Five things to know before that: Bell goes dingity ding ding ding today Thursday AKA April 20th AKA 420 More muddling. Uh, basically referring to the overall Market Let's this is the daily chart.

So yeah, we had a great push from mid-march until the start of April and then a slow drift upward. but recently we've been stalling out a lot of chopping. We gapped down yesterday and then pushed up pretty strong today. we're gapping down again.

There will be an upside Gap fill trade opportunity to 4 12, 16. about 90 cents right now if the market were to open at this moment. but we'll have to wait to see the opening value at 9 30. But once again, there is an upside Gap The opportunity today.

There is a little bit of a bearish seasonal bias, so maybe you want to look for that up fill upside Gap fill and then play it back down. Or maybe you just want to wait and see the strength at opening. Maybe we just want to chill today and watch the Starship take off. Uh, lots of things that could be going on, but I just want to point out that there is an upside Gap build With this.

This overall push yes, April is a bullish month. The end of March is actually pretty bullish too, so it played out beautifully. But it's coming to a point of how is there not mean reversion when you push this much? especially with some suspect earnings? Um, we could argue that Morgan Stanley Kind of putting out a warning shot. We could argue that Tesla is definitely putting out a warning shot.

There's also been some good earnings too, so mixed bag of earnings thus far. I'm particularly excited to hear what the mega cap companies have to say: Apple Amazon Microsoft Meta I Want to know what those ones are going to be talking about? Uh, just to understand the strength of this current earnings season. But as of now, a mixed bag and that's really being perfectly shown in the chart here when basically why we're chopping around. Uh, haven't really been going anywhere too too special ever since the start of the month.

Like I said, a little drift upward. So who's the winner here? Who's the winner? Premium sellers The Iron Condors recently have been absolutely crushing it because even though we're volatility going nowhere, that means premium prices are jacked up. But since we're not really going anywhere, most of them are expiring out of the money. so we're just collecting premium collecting premium collecting premium.

Stormy Weather We talked about Elon Tesla and his cautionary comments: IBM's mix report same thing thing with TSM even though TSM is up right now. but once again, mixed bag Toyota broadens EV Slate in China Toyota Massive Automaker just broadening out. That makes sense the next wave of layoffs. Uh, we know Meta starting and then also I believe Disney's starting to be at Disney plans to cut 7 000 jobs.

Uh, and I think they're going to be particularly focused on ESPN This is the going Trend Over the past year we're seeing a lot a lot of layoffs, especially within the tech sector and now it seems to be bleeding over into financials. Uh, things like Goldman Sachs But then also now we're getting into more of just other companies such as Disney which I mean that's just a Goliath has many different aspects. Uh, just want to point that all out to you so that's your very, very quick rundown of the day? We might be I'll make sure to check back right at Market opening. but I just want to point you I Want to really highlight the fact that there is an upside Gap though to 4 12, 16.

But overall today, the seasonality bias is to the downside side. We've been seeing a lot of Chop I Don't think we're gonna get anything that crazy that breaks the chop Trend Today, of course it could happen, but my mentality is much more prepared of chop. I'm not looking for a great, beautiful new trend to be starting today. Of course I could be horrifically wrong, but I'm just looking at recent history and I don't see anything on the Slate in terms of earnings or announcements happening midday that is going to reverse that course.

Uh, we are just now closing out header tank load on the second stage. Boom Brother Loaded and closed out. That means we're down to just the first stage. I Don't think this does it any justice of how big this is.

It is absolutely monstrous. and at that point when both stages are loaded, we will have the 10 million pieces liquid propellant on board. 10 million minutes during a quiet period when the Rockets This is so freaking cool. The automated flight termination system humans are doing this like we did.

I Cannot wait for that moment. So for those of you that are familiar with how we launch Falcon 9 Rockets You probably know that we light all nine of those first stage Merlin 1D engines all at once.

It's pretty different is everyone's so hyped about a rocket launched because it's a freaking rocket. How many Rockets have you launched? Daniel Clusters Come on man and this is great. It starts at the Holiday we get a rocket launch. It might be good for the market because like, why not in terms of the time.

So on Falcon 9 we use the chemical called T-tab It's a pyrophoric materials. that means when you mix the two together, it produces a flame that kicks off that green characteristic spark. On Falcon 9 missions, but actually on Starship we use electrical ignition systems. Many of those are integrated on the ground area.

here and the electrical ignition. We start lighting the banks at T minus six seconds and then over the next four seconds the three sets of banks will ignite and eventually bring uh, the booster up to. we're almost five minutes out. and hopefully let's do this.

Super exciting! Like we said, pretty different from our Falcon 9 launches and so this will be the first time that any of us have gotten to see this type of is this interested in putting all the propellers?
