Foreign. Thank you Foreign brother. Good morning, good morning, good morning, good afternoon, good evening, good night. Good.
whatever freaking time it is for you. I Don't know where you guys are in the world, but I hope whatever time it is for you, you're having an absolutely phenomenal one. Today it is. Monday August The 7th Welcome back to another episode of the Matt Core Show.
Where uh, what do you guys want to be you could be Matt I'll be cores and then maybe someone else could be this show I Don't know we'll figure it out, but it's always up in the air I Hope you're having a good one I Hope you're ready for another fun-filled week within the markets ahead. It's going to be a knockout of a week. I was just trying to think of a pun something to go off of the whole fight over the weekend and I do want to talk about this fight for a second? uh, maybe we'll do that in a little bit. but I just want to point out how a lot of you were wrong if that's cool, if that's cool with all of you I just want to point out how many of you in here were all like I I Feel like you almost fell into Jake Paul's trap about it? You know the whole concept of oh like I just don't like Jake Paul So I assume he's not as good of a fighter Nate did not win Tony I don't know if you and I saw the same fight.
Not only did Jake Paul win, he won-handedly out of the 10 Rounds Diaz got two Jake Paul won eight of the Ten rounds and then also within the rounds. Jake is the only one who scored a knockdown like it wasn't even he he won. He's like there's no if ands or but if you watch that fight and you do not think that Jake Paul won you did not watch the right fight. It was just so so evident who the winner was.
and I think you guys are falling into it. Um, he won but he didn't beat him. Well that's what winning is technically. if you win, you are beating the other person because then you're the winner.
uh in my heart Diaz won I Didn't watch it but it's upsetting he had control from the very start. He came out strong and I will give it to well. first of all Diaz showed how I guess just straight up Diaz he is. There were a couple times in that fight where I think an average fighter would just be dumb I think they would be dunzo I think they would be complete with the fight uh especially after the first round like Jake Paul was like hammering him the first round and I was like oh this is going really really negatively So shout out to not only Diaz but like his team I mean that dude can take some hits like he was not messing around like that.
had to feel like punching a brick wall. but then on Jake's side I would argue that the thing that really really surprised me there was how good his conditioning was. something that was clearly lacking in probably the last two fights. but you really really saw it with Tommy Fury He just did not have the endurance to go as long as he needed to go and definitely a clear Improvement in this fight.
But overall I mean it was a it was a good fight like I Get it I Understand that a lot of people are here just to dislike Paul Just because you dislike Paul uh and whatever I mean all the power to you. do whatever you want I Just think it's kind of interesting that like you really are kind of just playing into his PR marketing tactics. If you build yourself out, build yourself up as a villain, people will always, always always be spending money to see you lose. So I mean and inherently I think that's why a lot of us are watching it. Clearly, a lot of us are watching and just to see if Jake Paul ends up losing and then he actually turns out he knows how to fight. I'm not calling him the best boxer in the world, but relative to 99.99 of the world, he's a very, very good boxer. Uh, so I don't know he's He's clearly a PR genius if you like him. If you don't like him.
it doesn't matter because he is a PR genius. So there's at least something that can be learned from him. So that ended up being what Saturday night and over the weekend I don't know where you guys are or aren't but uh, where I grew up in the middle of nowhere in Pennsylvania there's things called county fairs and basically it's a week-long event where there's like just I don't know fair games. there's I don't know a lot of livestock, attractions, competitions, rides, games, system, a lot of people watching.
So I went to one one of the biggest ones in Pennsylvania over the weekend and it was awesome. uh I Truly truly believe if something's going wrong in your life, it will most likely be able to be fixed by deep fried Oreos Whatever is going on in your life, it will be solved by deep fried Oreos So good day, bad day in between day you want to be taller, you want to be shorter, stronger, weaker, faster, slower, smarter Dumber Whatever it is, your life will be fixed by deep fried. Oreos So I am here to pleasantly report that I was able to consume deep fried Oreos over the weekend and I don't know. on Top of the World? Top Of The World.
Top Of The World. Top of the World. So what is going on here? Sorry, a little distracted, but um I do I'm trying to think of the best way to to time this because everyone's pouring in right now. I Do have a big announcement that's arguably slightly more important than deep fried Oreos by just a tad.
But I guess I'll do it at like 9, 20, 9, 25 I Don't think I could do it right now because everyone's coming in and they're going to be a little confused. They're gonna be like, well, what's the announcement? What's not the announcement? Um, so we'll have to swing back to that. But folks, this is the first full week of trading in August last week I don't know. Looks like someone kind of the as our boy centilli would say there was a fly in the ointment of the Bull Run recently.
So I want to talk about that? Yes, I want to do some chart review obviously. I'm going to do an update of the seasonality of what macroeconomic events to expect this week of what's coming down the earnings pipeline. We are still in earning season this week. We have, uh, two inflation reports later on this week. Uh, so we're going to be talking about that. There's a lot to get into. There's a lot to get into. So what I'm going to do is as quickly as I can over the next I don't know 10 15 minutes I plan on ripping through all of that and we'll do a little chart review there at the end and then around like I don't know 9, 20, 9, 25 We're gonna get everyone, uh, up to date of what's going on in the world of Matt So with that being said, folks, if you haven't already, buckle up, secure your socks, make sure you hit the like button, don't forget to subscribe, and also show a little bit of love to today's stream sponsor.
Obviously, you've heard of Street before. If you think creating your own trading strategies is difficult, you haven't used Street Beat in my humble opinion. They make it incredibly easy. This is free to download.

Stock futures rise as Wall Street comes off a losing week. Kind of interesting. It's been a hot minute since we've had any developments like this. If you look at the weekly chart, something a little bit different looking from basically mid-march until now.
uh, kind of a side like the last time we had a sizeable red week was all the way back here at the start of March So the weekly bar setup looking a little bit sus looking a little bit sus uh, we have some lower high, lower low. not really a bearish engulfing but a large bar looking a little bit Sus. So I want to talk about that and we'll kind of do our best to spot if there's any nice risk to reward setups that we could trade off of it before we get into that though. I do want to remind everyone. Oh man, sorry dude. I'm trying to do the show right now I was trying to get into it and this little guy just hopped up out of nowhere everyone meet Piper She was supposed to make her debut in like 20 minutes but she just hopped up on the desk and started clomping on the the keyboard. oh what's up Piper did a little bit of a giveaway with the the cat shirt over here but she Piper wanted to come a little early today. She's these little kittens are so bad with time.
they're so bad with time they're so bad like you know I'm like yo show up at 9 20. and I get it like she's nervous for her first day of work obviously as the new Macro Advisor for the hedge fund but I think she got nervous. she shouldn't have like walked right in on the camp like that. That's a little rude but hey we'll work on it.
she doesn't the obviously like stage presence we're working on with her but she's a little. she's a little girl so she'll figure it all out. but she just hopped up and just stomping away on the keyboard. uh but everyone here's Piper the new Macro Advisor at the hedge fund.
Uh, she has no pedigree so don't ask her uh about hers at all. but she'll figure out this whole trading thing. No worries, hang on, let me let me go get her like a little cap and hang on. I'll be right back.
all right. Anywho, Anywho, uh, she? so that's that's Piper and Piper has an interesting story. so obviously I went to that fair that we were discussing which is in the middle of nowhere. And the interesting thing about being in the middle of dude, what is she doing The interesting thing about being in the middle of nowhere is there's a lot of woods in the middle of nowhere.
and if you guys have been paying attention to the Mac course show for any amount of time, you know that it has been in arduous event to acquire a little cat. I just keep getting denied and denied and denied. And then I started looking at these shelters and they even looked at me and like dude, we're not giving you a cat and I'm like what's up and I always figured you know, just like in the market eventually what goes around comes around and if you're continuing to be a good person, good things happen to good people. So on the way to this Fair uh like a family friend arbitrarily was talking to my sister and she's like yeah the other day I was like what she had like two huge dog shows, two German or yeah German Shepherds and she's walking them in the woods and out of nowhere this cat just runs up to him and she's like what's going on So basically she found this like little Forest cat thing and didn't know what to do.
So they're hanging out in the woods trying to see if the mom's around and they waited there for a couple hours and just nothing was going on. They're like okay and they started walking away and the cat just started following him and she's like okay I guess like we'll figure it out and just by happenstance, my sister was talking with her and she's like well my brother's looking for a cat sent me pictures of Piper there and Piper I mean did you see her dude that is a purebred Clydesdale there. you don't get a more pure bloodline than that cat that we just found. So my little Forest cat ended up being probably if I had to assume a top-tier cat in the entire world and then obviously I put her through the same interview process that like you would do with any pets I Talked to her about her Macco trading strategy, what she thinks about risks of reward I gave her a little bit of like just some trick questions of like okay what do you think about current monetary policy and how is it going to impact not only the dollar Index but how do you think that's going to really end up correlating with the market now I Talked to her about like how she would handle the current situation like the Market's high. Would you invest here obviously I want to know what you do? Some downside: Do you ever do hedging with options? What do you think about what's going on in the world of Commodities Right now, she had some jokes about how orange juice prices have been shooting higher so I didn't agree with her on everything in terms of her investment thesis with the market. but uh, I at least appreciated it if that makes sense. I I'm not going to say I'm fully in line with their trading and investing strategy. I mean you guys think I take on risk she takes on a lot of risk I mean she? you guys thought I was degenerate but like her risk management was literally just she's like I I what's that like I'm not wrong.
So she was a little cocky but like I don't know I thought like we're all a little weird in interviews so like maybe I don't know time to settle in. So anyway I got that little girl uh, what's today Monday so basically brought her home yesterday I've ordered everything off of Amazon I possibly could a lot of cat and kitten related paraphernalia. So right now she's just kind of here like a normal human with me. Uh, because I don't have any cat stuff, but it should be here by today and tomorrow.
So we got all that stuff. Uh, but yep, that's gonna be the new Trader Uh, we'll see. We'll see how we'll see how she does. We'll we'll see.
But anyway, if you're joining in right now, you can rewind a bit. I Think she's gonna pass out. Dude. All that cat does is sleep like she sleeps.
For she sleeps hard, plays hard. She sleeps hard for two hours, wakes up and just like tears things apart, then goes back to bed. It's two hours on two hours off. Two hours on two hours off.
And the really strange thing is some of that two hours on two hours off type of a deal. It happens in the middle of the night where I go eight hours off I'm kind of like 16 hours on eight hours off, so our sleeping schedules are not really aligned. Which also means when I'm part of those eight hours off and I'm unconscious to the world, she just comes in and like, just like just claws your face, she's like time to wake up. it's two in the morning. Um, so I've tried to talk with her about that and um, we're not really making any. Headway particularly. and it's weird because like, mathematically, I'm about 90 times heavier than her. Uh, and you would think that she would listen to me.
but I'm already like, one day later, getting psychologically worn down. Uh, so that'll yeah, it's it's a tough one. she. uh, she does this thing where she puts her claws right into your face as you're sleeping and it's not a pleasurable experience by any mean, so we'll see how that goes.
We'll We'll definitely figure it all out, but anyway, we'll bring her back. She was supposed to be here for Market open. She just got a little excited. My apologies I do want to remind you where we all are for seasonality July Historically a very bullish month August More of like kind of a choppy sideways type of a month.
and on that note, I Just want you to know that for today individually if this ever loads. Uh, Monday August 7th it's leaning bullish. It's a little bit choppy, but recently there's been a nice bullish push in the equity curve for today individually. Remember, if you want this seasonality breakdown for individual dates, join up.
Become a Goonie Macquares.locals.com What I started to do is under one thread. I'm just gonna post all of the days for that particular week. So for this week, the 7th through the 11th I just did. Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday So you can see everything coming up for that week just in case you're a bit of a swing.
Trader Instead of a day trader, I Wanted to give you all of that. Speaking of this week, in terms of macroeconomic reports less than really we're used to at least recently, but still very important ones. So we're going to get some energy updates tomorrow and Wednesday and then on Thursday we get the CPI report and then on Friday we get the PPI report. So later on this week we get inflation reports and then halfway through the week we're going to get updates about the world of energy.
and then today for Monday. If you're watching right now, there's not really going to be many macroeconomic reports to pay attention to, at least not ones that are considered to be like a high volatility reaction. We are still in the middle of earnings season, so after the market closes today, Palantir I know there's going to be a lot of people paying attention to it. Same with Lucid Paramount Might be interesting to hear their commentary on both the writing and the acting strike.
Tomorrow before the Market opens, we have UPS Tomorrow after the market closes, we have Rivian AMC upstart twilio on Wednesday we have ROBLOX we have Sony We have Disney aftermarket closes. Disney's probably the biggest one of the week. We also have win for all the gambling stuff that's going on and even though we're still in earnings season and yes, it will be continuing next week. I Just want you to know that this is like kind of the end of the big big name ones. like a high percentage of both the NASDAQ and the S P will be done reporting when this week concludes. Uh, buy bitter yuck spray for your cords. One of my kittens has burned through his tongue from chewing on a cable. Oh okay.
I appreciate that call out. Um yeah. I don't really know what I'm doing to take care of this kid And so any of these uh I appreciate the input of a better way to be a solid uh roommate and Trey coder or like co-trader with this cat. So uh, yuck, Spray for your course.
That makes sense so it doesn't chew through. She she's definitely a chewer too. She is just ripping through everything. Berkshire Hathaway's operating earnings rise nearly seven percent.
Cash pile approaches 150 billion with a B So obviously Buffett he's saving up his cash for something. Definitely saving up his cash for something. Uh, here does it actually give the direct numbers Berkshire I mean slowly but surely climbing climbing climbing? I've been paying more attention to it recently to see what he's doing in the world of Black Gold AKA Oil obviously just continuing to buy more and more exposure to the energy sector. Speaking of which, oil giant Saudi Aramco post 38 drop in second quarter profit as lower prices bite.
so something to look at. There oil prices surged to a four month high after Saudi and Russia output cut. So obviously classic supply and demand. If demand staying the same and Supply goes down, prices have to go up.
If you've looked at oil recently, you know it's now battling it out in the low 82s. one two three four five, six green weeks in a row, a month and a half a strong recovery off this lower Edge all the way up to this top. Edge So we're just now at this resistance of the low 80s. If oil were to push right above that, the next thing I'd be watching is kind of the upper 80s.
86, 87, 88 somewhere in that realm. If it can get this breakout, will it get this breakout? Your guess is as good as mine obviously. I'm not. like my part of the portfolio is not the macro situation.
That's something that we would have to ask Piper4 so we'll see if we can bring her back on for her very first day. Trucking Firm Yellow files for bankruptcy protection after loading up on debt. So if you guys have been looking at yell got a little bit of some excitement. Uh, people are still seemingly getting confused that like like oh, hang on, this potential bankruptcy stock is going up.
should I buy it? No, you probably shouldn't because they all kind of end like this. Currently gapping down 40 these things and commonly very very poorly. Is that true for every single time? No. But why would you buy into a company that's in the middle of either bankruptcy or potential bankruptcy? It is, in my opinion, a losing play. If you do it many, many times, Trucker Yellow goes bankrupt after debt labor woes pile up. yellow Court Problem for bankruptcy will remain shuttered after the trucking firm's long-running Financial woes were compounded by a dispute with its labor force. The carrier listed assets of 1 billion to 10 billion in liabilities in the same range in the Chapter 11 petition filed in Delaware. The following gives you a little breathing room from creditors as it winds down the business and sells off assets the company shares plunge as much as 35 percent of pre-market trading set to reverse some of the stocks gains last week.
uh, according to the executive officer Mr Hawkins It is with profound disappointment that Yellow announces that it is closing after nearly 100 years in business. That's actually pretty sad for Generation Jail provided hundreds of thousands of Americans with solid, good-paying jobs and fulfilling careers. So I just wanted to cover this because I know people have been watching yell uh, I've been avoiding it from the start it this is not going to end well. What goes up ends up coming down.
Five things to know before: that stock market about goes dingy Ding ding ding today Monday August 7th Markets look to rebound right now. in pre-market trading. We are up a little bit if you look at the Spy We're currently up a dollar eighty, closing out the day on Friday which is started vomiting midday around 1pm. We close out the day at 4 46.81 We're currently trading at 448.62.
the fact that we're below 450 I do find a bit concerning from just a price action standpoint. Obviously we've been posting means they're equal highs or higher Highs but we've also been going higher low higher low higher low, This time around, we're clearly going to have a lower high and a lower low. So relative to this recent push, there's obviously been a bit of a structural change and I just want everyone to like appreciate that This whole rip this attitude we've been having from mid-march until now. Clearly something's a little bit up now.
Obviously, if we end up we did break this low that we posted in Late July If we end up going below this region of like 436, 437 very very evidently there could be a whole new trend coming, so just something to pay attention to. Now for me personally, let me update these: I don't know I didn't I should honestly just write a little script that does it for me. uh I will clearly be watching the high and the low from Friday but then obviously because this was a large range day, I will be looking at the also the high and the low from Thursday August 3rd if we get above these size okay, on a very short time period, I would be leaning Bush If we get below these lows on a very short time period, I would be leading bearish. Right now, it looks as if we're if we were to open right now, we're going to be opening mid-range So I'm obviously just going to be waiting to really see which way the markets end up pushing. the mouse leads earnings Disney Reporting after the market closes on: Wednesday So very much paying attention that Berkshire's billions balloon. We were just talking about how much cash they have on him, telling me that Buffett and obviously the related team is not looking to buy at a premium. They are clearly not looking to chase here. The fact that Berkshire is sitting on billions and billions and billions in cash tell tells me that they're not buying.
Which means okay, let's just wait because they're going to be looking to buy things on discount the same way we should all be thinking you want to buy things when they're cheap and sell things when they're expensive, not the opposite way. Uh, oil surges right now we know Supply down demand holding constant and in fact, we're going to be getting an update tomorrow. and Wednesday from The World of Energy We've been caught talking about it a little bit more just because oil has been doing some crazy things. There has been some nice trading opportunities whether you're a day trader swing.
Trader So oil definitely producing some volatility. so obviously we need those nice volatility waves to get good Trends to make good money. Billion dollar Barbie The Warner Bros Discovery Smash Hit Barbie was set to top one billion at the global box office on Sunday According To some estimates, totals will come out today. Monday So waiting for that, but obviously probably continuing to do very, very well and actually so is Oppenheimer So around me in Manhattan I've been trying to go and first of all, every single weekend see, it's pretty much already sold out and during the week the only ones that have openings now are like a Tuesday night at 11 p.m like very late for normal movie uh, scheduling times.
So uh, still very, very popular across the board a little bit later on today. I Want to talk about right here: Nathan Anderson the lead over at Hindenburg research and how he's basically cost some of these alleged fraudulent billionaires upwards of 170 180 billion dollars this year by calling out what they're doing and how they're doing it wrong. So I want to talk about that a little bit later? but before things get really, really rocking today, you guys kind of know my plan for this buy. Uh, right now we are at 448.50 so we're about halfway in this range.
I'm waiting for either the push-up or the push down I'm not necessarily leaning bullish I'm not necessarily leading bearish. We know the seasonality of August is pretty much sideways and that's indicative specifically today or I guess the overall August push is indicative of what I'm really kind of seeing in the seasonality individually for not only today, but this week. So I'm not really looking to it to support me or to go against me I'm more so, really, really going to be honed in of what's going on in the world of are we breaking out from highs or are we breaking down from lows? and then even when that happens. Remember one methodology that we've been talking about a lot in here, especially over the past like two to three ish weeks. Don't chase breakouts. Don't chase breakdowns. Chasing breakouts, Chasing breakdowns, chasing price. Action is a good way to absolutely get your ass handed to.
If you are looking to go long and you see a giant push, that's cool. Wait for it to push, wait for it to pull back into some sort of reasonable level, however you define it, and then on the pullback when it consolidates and then starts to pick up. In my opinion, that's the perfect time to strike. Don't just arbitrarily be like oh, it's above this value I Gotta go long or if it's breaking down, oh, I Got to go short in any of these events.
wait for that event to happen and then wait for a pullback in whatever price would favor you to minimize your risk so we could talk about it in more detail as the charts are actually playing out today. But I Just wanted everyone to know that. I Still still really truly believe whether it's an overall ETF this that or the other thing I Truly believe it doesn't matter I Do not think there's ever really an excuse for chasing to the upside chasing to the downside. Chasing in general is a great great way in my opinion.
Once again, to lose money. Now obviously there's no such thing as a statement in the market that's always 100. True Maybe you know of a strategy where you're like no, no, no, uh I can prove it mathematically that chasing on this particular equity on this time frame. when this happens, there's a statistical positive Edge Okay, cool like.
I'm not saying that there's no time ever ever to chase, but I think most of the time like a high majority of the time chasing is going to be a way that you end up losing, so just want to throw that out there. Now the plan for me for today is we have about a minute till that Bell goes Dingy Ding Ding ding I'm gonna watch the market open the first 10 20 30 minutes lit. The opening. volatility just kind of churn itself out and then see if we can spot Some Solid setups.
Now with that being said, before that bow goes dingy Ding ding ding I Need to do two things. My first thing actually three things. One for all of you is let me know, Are you bullish or bearish on the day before the Bell opens? You guys need to very very quickly comment: are you bullish or bearish on the day And then beyond that, what tickers are you watching Beyond The overall Market such as the spy and the queues are you watching Apple Amazon are you watching Disney What's everyone's major major watch of the day? Uh I Want to put up on the screen? Uh, Bullish Bearish. more. Bulls In here today. Oh no other bears are coming in. Bearish. Bearish.
Bearish. Uh. Trucking Firm yellow files for bankruptcy? Yeah. Getting crushed in pre-market Palantir reporting either today or tomorrow.
Is it today? or is it tomorrow? I Know Palantir is reporting this week trading at 18, it's holding well. Uh, right. Well, all right. cool.
The Bell did just go. Dignity ding ding ding. The casino is open. It's like responsibly.
if not, have fun. All right. I Wouldn't recommend doing anything crazy right at. Market Open here.
but hey, trade whatever you need to end up trading. Uh, while this is happening, let's go get the lead macro economic advisor. I'll be right back. Foreign, We're back.
Finally was able to track down. Finally was able to track down the lead advisor. Huh? What are you doing? What are you doing? Say hi to everyone. There's literally thousands of people looking for your input right now and you're not even looking at the screen.
Dude, that's so Savage Literally the lead advisor and she. She won't even look at the charts. That's how much of trading she knows. She's just like nah I Don't need to look at these charts.
They're beneath me. Beneath me. Sounds like Shia swallowed a handful of a handful of bees this morning. Oh, she keeps clawing everyone in the face.
At the end of the night, she's really really into assaulting which I which I don't necessarily like. So um, as many of you know I've never been before this point allowed to have a cat because I keep just getting denied. They're like nope, no sir, you are not allowed to have a cat. Um, so this is my first one.
so if any of you have any, Hot Tips when you're like yo, you should use this cabinet or you should use this cat food where you should use this cat toy or just really anything feline based to get the best performance out of our lead. Trader Here, um, feel free to send it to me. You can send it via a Twitter DM an Instagram DM a carrier pigeon. but I'm sure there's probably like legit like vets and stuff in here.
So um, if feel free to pass that information along to your boy so we can make papers, papers trading experience here. Dude, she's going for it. She's going for it. Where are you going? What's up? What's up, Dude? What's up Dude? what's up? Don't know Piper stab Piper Did you stay? Piper No Piper dude, you can't see hyper.
All right uh I'm gonna go put her down for a bed and I'll be right back. All right, we're back. We're back to trade. Um where are we at? Oh question, do cats actually drink milk? Is that a thing? or is that a wives tale? Uh, is that do do cats do? Why are the Spy and the queues doing completely different things interesting? Uh. overall Market holding Tech Getting smoked so energy must be whoa. Energy's doing well. Financials are doing well, utilities are doing okay Industrials are doing okay health so everything's actually performing this morning, at least for the first five minutes. Besides Tech uh, you could look at the NASDAQ you could look at the tech sector xlk Uh, all sectors are doing well, but Tech just want to put that out there.
water is plenty water or Red Bull she did seem to really be into Red Bull Espresso Only you guys are messed up. Cats will drink milk, but it's better to give them water. So water is pretty much where I should be at water or just stick to water. Cats are lactose intolerant so I'm hearing Red Bull and water milk will upset her tummy.
Okay, so it seems like is. Actually it sounds like you guys are much bigger fans of Red Bull than you are milk when you're talking about a cat, water and kitten food. That's it now kittens. Do you give them hard food or soft food or a mixture of the two? Like is there a certain age where like you then switch them over to hard food I bought both I didn't know what to do so I ended up being the kind of roommate who buys the new roommate everything it needs.
So like I Just honestly this morning I spent a lot of my time on Amazon just by now bye now bye now I just kept buying everything I was like oh, feels like a cat might like that um got a little crazy with it. Soft food is always better. medium food, cat milk you guys both crunchy. food helps give keeps their teeth clean.
all right. This one might sound like a joke. Uh, our eight week old eats both soft so that cat was found in the woods. um I don't really know about its past, but I did want to ask.
like based on its size, would you say that's about like three months old? roughly for any of those of you who got a good view of it. Uh, I don't know I was kind of trying to estimate her size or her Age based off of her size I'm thinking about three months but 18? I don't think she's 18 years old? Not not. She didn't seem to be five to seven. Oh, she's older.
third trimester? Well, maybe. Uh, you haven't brought her to the vet to get her checked out. No, because I got her yesterday and the vet was closed. so we're going this week.
But appointments all scheduled and everything three to four months, 10 to 12 weeks is three. So you guys are saying okay. three months? okay, so three to four, about 12 ish weeks? Um yeah, no. This cat was like legit, just a forest cat.
She does weird Forest cat things and now she's trying to integrate with the rest of the world. So I don't know. My vet was at least closed yesterday so we're going this week. all shots necessary.
Yeah! so we went to like a family friend who owns like uh, like a pet store and he gave us the list of shots to get and like when to get it and it's all good and obviously we have to get her spayed and everything so we'll figure it out they gave us I don't know. We ended up buying a bunch of the like, all natural like we bought I don't know I guess some of the cat food like the classic like Meow Mix is not necessarily the best for them. same with like the litter like. So we ended up buying a bunch of like this all natural stuff like specific kitten food that is allegedly higher quality. at least that's how it's pitched and like all this like all natural like flea rub that you can use. that's I guess better for them because they're kittens and you're not supposed to do a lot of this crap then what else was there litter like in all natural I don't know some lavender litter crap like I don't know. It seems like there's stuff that's pitched to be healthier and safer for your pet, but also it's like double or triple the price, which then makes me wonder about like, well, it makes sense that this other stuff is cheaper because they probably use cheaper things to get into it and it's probably just I don't know. it's just things I've literally never considered in my life before yesterday.
Get pet insurance. Yep, filling that out actually. I I Think it might sort of come through I Sent my thing in and I just don't know if I'm improved yet. Uh, get a scratching post.
Yeah, dude, she's already in terms of scratching. She's been destroying the couch already and my face. so she likes to destroy the couch when we're awake during the day and then she likes to scratched my face when I'm asleep at night. Those are like her two favorite things: outdoor indoor soap.
We found her in the forest and her temperament is insanely good. So the family friend who found her had two German Shepherds and you saw how big she was and instantaneously was friends with these two big German Shepherds and then when I was picking her up, she was with my sister. My sister has two Great Danes so this little kitten who's what two pounds three pounds was like just buddy buddies at first with two German Shepherds then she was Buddy buddies with two Great Danes and then even in between that like our neighbors, like they're like four young children. so they were all just basically like manhandling her because they're like little kids and they obviously love kittens because who doesn't love kittens? And her temperament the whole time? Calm, cool, Collected.
like I I It makes sense to me why she's a traitor is in all scenarios. even when she's looking at 120 130 pound Great Danes in the face and they're like, what's up, what are we doing? how are we partnering? She's calm, cool, collected, calm, cool, collected. Uh. and I It makes sense why she has such a pedigree of impressive trading behind her.
She's planning to burn that house down. Uh, we'll see, we'll see. See she's feisty for sure, but you know I guess I would she went from being a forest Kitty to now she's a city Kitty and someone asked if she's indoor or outdoor? Well I found her in the outdoors and she like seemed to like it. so I don't know like Manhattan am I gonna be one of those weird people bringing a feline out to parks and stuff I don't know I don't know I guess I could talk to her about it I don't really have to make the decision myself I'll just ask her your cat is an ocelot mix so at first I thought she looked like a Russian blue just because she's so gray. but then if you catch her in the right light and I can post some pictures of her, uh, she has like those classic cat like almost like those bangle. Stripes So I think she's like a mutt of some sort. which makes sense because she was found in the woods. Um, but I I would be willing to bet that she's some sort of mixer.
uh with Deafkeeper indoors or Outdoors on the lease I Want to teach her stuff I Wanna definitely train her to do stuff? It would be like cool to have a well-trained cat take your skydiving cats loves zero gravity. Yeah, she seems to be a big big fan of zero gravity for sure. You guys are spot on. All right.
let me make sure where we are on the day. Uh, we have a dental. Market Internal check Market Internals: Neutral Bullish Bullish. Bullish.
All right. So we are bullish leaning a bit neutral. uh, definitely not getting any bearish internal readings as of now, but we're not really far into the day. We're about 13 14 minutes so trying to at minimum weight those first 15 to place any trade.
But honestly, even when we hit 9 45 today, I'm still not seeing something I particularly love. Uh, where are we Maybe if there was a bigger dip in the spy and then we started to bounce and the cues bounce. maybe I would go long, but I'm not really convinced. This seems like a pretty strange, confused opening thus far.
Um, if you want to teach a pet to do stuff, why would you get a cat? and I take fighting natural advice from you? Uh yeah. I Like the challenge. What are you gonna do? Buy an animal that's already known to be super teachable? Matthew It seems like you're just always looking for the easy way out. Looks like you're always looking for the easy way out.
Sometimes it's a little bit more rewarding to get a challenge, you know, and actually successfully beat the challenge. But hey, if you want to take the easy way out for the rest of your life, have at it man. And also more specifically, me getting a cat. It's not one of these like giant statements that I feel like the cat versus the dog.
Community they really love to go at each other's throat. Uh, no. love dogs too I just have a really small apartment and my studio is even smaller than my apartment and that's not really fair to a dog. Um I just especially because like I want like a medium-sized dog like 40, 50, 60 pounds? Uh so I just I don't I don't know for me where I grew up. if you had dogs like that, you were outside, you were doing stuff all the time. Uh, like large pieces of like either a property house like just something for them to explore. and I don't know I have like 600 square feet here. so I just don't necessarily I don't know I'll just when I finally get a house and a yard and have space.
That's probably when I'll end up getting a pup Matt Are you botting on old school RuneScape right now? no but I wish Matt get that cat fixed as soon as able cats are in heat are not fun I'm just gonna take um I'm gonna take whatever the Vets recommendations are what. basically whatever the vet tells me to do I'll be like sign me up. Uh, do not ever put your cat outside roadkill fleas Predators viruses for getting to neuter. Don't be stupid.
Well I'm not Steve what do you think I'm gonna do just like throw my cat outside and be like yo. Okay, see you back in a couple hours. that's not I'm gonna I'm not gonna be like all right dinner's at six. see you later.
Obviously if I am outside the cat will be with me and either like one of the backpacks or on a leash or something. I'm not gonna be like see you later brother like hey you're almost four months old now so it's time you like learn the way of the world. Don't forget the a train's on a bit of a detour this morning like oh man I like I'm not gonna be such a about it I do appreciate it though. I'm sure you're saying it because you probably know of people or saw people who do things that are dumb.
Yes, and that's the sad thing is there are a bunch of people in this world who are pet owners and they do dumb. So I'm sure you're saying it just because you've probably run into some horror stories of people not treating their pets whether a cat, dog, fish, emu, whatever, everything in between. not appropriately. so.
Um, and the fun thing is, you guys will always be able to fact check me because obviously it's the lead macro advisor here. Um, you're gonna have a lot of questions for her so you'll be able to probably do daily check-ins and you could ask her be like did Matt throw you outside for the morning like what's going on I'm gonna start telling the barn cats see later brother Barn Cats live forever and spend 80 of their time outside. So growing up when I would work on my neighbor's farm and like just the agricultural area I grew up in. Most of the cats I ran into were Barn cats.
they were just there when we're stacking hay all day and they were actually like really friendly. uh I liked them but they were in fact they lived a hundred percent of their life outside. They were never inside and they were I guess always battling the viruses and predators and various things. and I don't know machinery and whatever Farm dogs and horses and pigs doing and cows just moving around like much larger animals I don't know they were fine. They're cats. They're malleable. Have you seen them physically? They're like water. They kind of just fill up whatever space that they're in.
And I think that's really how they approach life. Very very flexible creatures, both physically but also metaphysically. All right, they probably live about 10 years. Yeah, what's the normal cat live like I don't know.
15 to 20. I feel like upper teens is where like house cats kind of end up living too. Uh, the cues leading things down Apple not having the best day actually sub 180 now Apple's down almost three bucks 1.6 Microsoft green on the day though Microsoft Holding Tesla getting cracked going down seven bucks also known as 2.7 and video was holding until the past three minutes started vomiting Netflix has been selling off all morning. Meta actually doing the opposite.
Meta trying to hold above 310 Amazon selling off. Um, down only about 30 cents, but top left, bottom, right type of movement. Rum holding eight. They are reporting after the market closes a week from today and Coin is actually getting rocked.
Coin is actually down the most on my watch, so it's down 3.2 percent Heavy Heavy heavy heavy selling this morning. especially in these major Tech names. Um, we're about 20 minutes in and there was a little bit in the energy sector, especially because oil is above 82. A little bit in the financial sector.
But Tech the sell-off and Tech has been causing things to bleed. But who knows? this might just be a good pullback opportunity. we obviously popped. We're pulling back.
if we can consolidate and then start to pick up, there might be an interesting opportunity there for me right now. I haven't done anything. I'm waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting. I Have no active trades on at this moment, so just waiting to see how things play out.
waiting, waiting waiting. Uh. Market Internals are actually starting to turn bearish. Are they though? hang on, these aren't loading in properly.
Yes, some of these internals are starting to flash a bear sign on this sell-off so if it starts to push, everything will go back to being bullish. But I just want you to be aware about that. um, some conflicting signals if you will. What else do we have? What else do we have? What else do we have? We clearly pulled back.
Do I want to try to take this long off of here? Uh, hmm. When in Rome I suppose 1820 I'm gonna try a position here. we'll try. we'll try.
Uh right. Boom brother. All right. I am long the S P 500 in the Futures Market and what I'm going to do is I went long.
three minis not micro. So I'm playing the bigger contracts. Uh uh, let me show you what I'm up to. So just right here I'm trying I'm trading the ESU contract.
This is the S P 500 on the Futures Market I'm trading the mini today, not the micro because the account finally got funded with the money that I sent into it. Uh, I will be risking this. So basically I am long three contracts. That's why it says net long three I'm in at 1825. so I'm currently up about a point and that, uh, what do I want 21 All right I want to scale out the first one right away just to lower my average on the final two. and so I'm taking this long and the reason I am taking the long is exactly what I said I was like okay, it's looking for a push, we gotta pull back a bit of consolidation. a potential double bottom we broke above this. This is really what: I like the fact that we sold here.
we had a order block that sold and then on the recapture of it I like that push Boom brother. All right you guys just heard it. So we scaled out of one already. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
So now I'm now only two I just locked in one of those. So let me change this. We have a trailing stop loss. All right.
Uh, how much am I risking about Five Points uh, five. So 23 we're gonna sell one at 26. Oops, Nope. Cancel that cancel.
Cancel. Cancel. That was the incorrect order. All right.
we're gonna sell one up here at 26 to see if it could get here. Maybe just 25. 25 I'm risking Five Points 25. Okay, that's fair.
All right. 25. No. I do really like 26 actually better.
So this is my main trade. So the first trade, the way I have this structured is I went long three contracts. The first one's just a little scalp to help lower my cost basis on the actual other two. The second one is my actual trade.
so in this one we pushed. we got the pull back, I went long on the recovery and I'm basically targeting just under the intraday. High The second one is like my legit trade and then my third one is my Runner. So as soon as the second one hits, remember, we're doing a one trade to get in three contracts and then we're scaling out.
Scaling out, scaling out. So basically I'm working on a methodology that is better at scaling out. So with the scale out, the first one's a little bit of a scalp helps lower my average takes on less risk. The second one is the actual trade where I'm looking for a measured move and then the third one's a runner where if we end up trading all trending all day, I'll just keep riding it.
riding it, riding it. So after the scout, the first trade is locked in after the second one is locked in the measure move. By the time I get to the third one. that is, just if a runner runs, I'm going to end up moving my stop to break even so the third trade doesn't cost me any money and those don't hit all the time because like what's the actual chance of having like a nice big Runner day? they happen.
But they don't happen with the most frequency. So most of the time the runner either is either Break Even or makes me a little bit of money. But on the days that we have a beautiful trending day, well then the runners in all day. Um, right now. Uh, you can see I Well no, you can't see it anyway. I Locked in 160 already and right now open. I'm up about 300 looking to lock in 387 on the second one and then the third one's the runner and as soon as this second one hits I'm moving the stop loss on the final one up to break even and then I'll just let it run. and if it runs today.
Awesome! I Make money. If it doesn't run well, that happens. Um, so that was the major trade of the day. that one was not a prop account.
So when I show you this, oops, this right here this is my actual account. not a prop account like this is all 100 my money. This is a live account. This isn't paper trading or anything.
This is called trade station. This is my legit. Futures Trading account. Um, and I'm just saying that because recently, uh, for the month of August we're kind of doing like a two-tier challenge.
This month, last month was clearly degenerately trading options that was the name of the game last night or last month in July I was degenerately trading basically a lot of call and put options mainly call options this month. it's kind of a two-tier challenge. Um, yes, back into the world of Futures Futures Just happens to be my favorite asset class to change. Uh, and the reason for that is you get nice leverage.
There's no pattern day trading. um I Think the data sets are easier to like. do an analysis on, um, just there's various aspects of trading. Futures that I like better than trading equities or options or crypto I like trading Futures the best.
But anyway, that's besides the point with Futures Trading which is kind of what we're focusing on or I'm at least focusing on this month. kind of a two-tier thing. so one, I'm trying to more accurately and more effectively refine my trading strategy that I just kind of like part of it I alluded to of like, okay, we're scaling in, scaling out that type of a thing. So that's a strategy that I'm actually working on coding up in the background.
and right now I'm placing the trades manually just because the code's not where I want it at. and that's mainly because I don't really fully know how I want to execute this strategy. So we're kind of in like, um, that phase where testing ideas, getting the data testing ideas, getting the data testing ideas, getting the data, blah blah blah. that type of stuff.
So that's where I'm at with it on just kind of my own Futures Trading side. but then on top of it, just I've always heard about prop accounts I know some of you are probably trading prop accounts and all that and I've just never done it before. So starting on either August 1st or 2nd I made my first prop account and within one day like I blew it up just for me. It's a challenge to see if it's something I could do and then who knows if I end up doing well, maybe I'll write up the code on Ninjatrader and just have it trade for me and then I'll just trade my algorithm on a prop account I don't really know. There's a lot of exciting upside to it. Uh, so my point is, is that like this month last month was a lot of degenerate options trading. this month, it's going to be Futures Trading But it's kind of like twofold seeing if I could pass a prop account Challenge and then on top of that, more appropriately refining my Futures Trading strategy that ideally when I get it to the level that I want, I'll just finish up the code and then the trades for me automatically all the time. So that's where we're at on everything.
Uh, at this moment I locked in the one trade but I'm about to get knocked down on the other ones if this comes down too far. I don't like how this is dipping. Um, so right now I'm risking 425 dollars, but I've locked in 160. So whatever the difference is, but this is about to get knocked out.
Uh, looks like we're not getting the strongest recovery. we want to see what that's what it's there for. So if the Spy ends up making a fresh low, I will definitively get knocked out. but if we somehow I don't know, it's getting close.
Basically I will get stopped out of my position if this spy goes below 448.25 essentially. Uh, Apple Yeah, we try to get going. Got smacked pretty hard at 449, the market not reacting too well to it, so this very well could just be kind of a fake outbreak out. We sold hard.
Consolidated Tried to pop right here. It tried to get above 448.75 and it lasted there for about six minutes like it tried to pop and there was just no follow-through There was no appetite for it, so kind of a bit of a liquidity grab. Smacked right back into this region and were about to be 30 minutes into the trading day. And it is kind of interesting to note the statistical likelihood of and this isn't all the time.
I'm not saying that you can be like Oh I'm going to trade this every single day. There are better filters and other things you could look at, but it is interesting to note that there's at least a edge of the first 30 minute bar as in from 9 30 to 10. When you look at that bar on the 30 minute chart, the one that we're putting in right now that literally just got completed, the one that concluded at 9 30. there is a statistical Edge to which everyone breaks first, that being the kind of day you're gonna have now once again.
I'm not saying that that happens a hundred percent of the time, but it definitely happens over 50 percent of the time. and hence that's your Edge Um, so if this vomits out right here, it's by no means a guarantee. By no means a guarantee. but they're definitely this could go bearish right here.
This could definitely be going bearish right here. We'll see. and I'm about to get stomped out. You're going to hear as soon as that breaks, you're gonna hear oh brother, how is this not hit yet? Oh it did hit. Um. all right, let me show you. Oh wait, it only got out of one though. net now I'm net long one.
All right. That is inappropriate. Boom Brother All right I Just had to close it I don't know why I didn't close it appropriately. Maybe I lowered the order.
but anyway. I'm out. So uh, the first trade made 160 and whatever the second trade was. So the scalpit.
The the concept of this strategy is you go along whatever group and then you get out of a third, get out of a third, Get out of a third. Um, so the first third hit. It was positive right here. This blue arrow to this white arrow and then the second and the third trade were not successful.
and that's why you have, uh, this blue to this white. That's why it's the red dashed line. You actually might be able to see better on the one minute right here of how it went. So basically this blue dash line was a winner I went long here, locked in profits there great Uh.
But as soon as we started breaking down from here, the second one and the third one were both losers and that's why it has the red dash line. so one of them it the other two didn't As of now, it's net down. like on all three of these trades, the current closed P L is a loss of three hundred and forty dollars and that happens. It happens.
It happens. It happens. Uh, if this breakout kept ripping, it would have been a beautiful winner. I mean the second one.
the actual measure move would have locked in nicely and then your third one. The third one could have been a runner for the day, but as you can see, it was a liquidity to grab. Got smashed. The tech sector is looking heavy and that's part of the game.
part of the game, part of the game, part of the game, part of the ship, part of the crew. and now we're looking weak. Let me check in on the internals. All right.
The market internals Kind of neutral because they're very quickly flashing from bullish to bearish. so they're right around that zero point neutral neutral. I mean this morning they were more bullish than they were bearish. On this, they went back to bullish.
but now in this or back to bearish. So uh, I would say leaning bearish. but remember, there is a magnitude to it. It's not like just being bullish or bearish.
There is a question of how bullish how bears show right now. I would argue that the market internals are um, like barely bearish at this moment. and all these other things I mean tech text looking to look Tech is definitely weak. Oh, this is going to be a challenge today.
Isn't it gonna be a bit of a challenge? We'll see how it comes around. Look at that. So the way we have this liquidity to grab kind of the fake out breakout right here I'm on the minute chart 951 to about 957. this fake out break where it's like okay, we're gonna get going and then it gets smashed. They're doing that just on the opposite side now. Uh, you can see it right right here. So we have this low and then they push it down 10-1 1002, 1003. Uh, they flush people out and then it gets popped right back up on top.
Uh, you're gonna see this probably a lot more, even on smaller time frames. but honestly, this is regardless of the time frame. It's good just to have that type of chart reading kind of, um, under your belt. Just be like okay identifying the people who are currently getting screwed.
So the people like me who went long in there, well as soon as we started to sell and we started selling hard, they got screwed. And then the people who chased this breakdown these shorts who are like okay, new, fresh, low, well they pop it right out of those out of that. So those people get screwed. So remember I I Truly believe that the market is one of the best mechanisms at.
Whoever can get screwed over whatever side is like could theoretically get screwed over the most as in the most money going that way. That's the pain trade. Uh, your stuff was too tight. No, it wasn't not at all.
I mean how you don't know the system I would be down more money right now if I kept holding or I'd be down. Um I was down more money and on this pop this is roughly where I got out. But I mean how could you say the stop was too tight when you don't know the strategy and all I see is lower highs lower lows. this did.
My thesis was that this breakout was the change of trend and obviously as soon as it came back down in here, my thesis was wrong. If your thesis is wrong, you have to get out. Um, your stop was too tight. I Mean folks, that's one of the biggest issues, especially in retail trading is people are taking on way too big of losses and they take the profits way too quickly.
Ideally, you want to cut all of your losing trades as quickly as humanly possible. So really I mean I could have argued that I probably should have cut mine even earlier. Um I mean all at lower highs lower lows? Why would I still be in a long trade right now? When this my thesis of right here this recapture 448.80 Clearly it failed I was right for about two minutes and then it came down. could have retested and bounced there, but no, it vomited straight down.
There was. My reasoning for the play was proven to be incorrect. If your reason for any trade is proven being correct, you should probably pull the ripcord. um I I Actually would take the counter argument I would actually argue in that scenario.
My stop probably should have been even closer. Uh, the three dollar strike is up two on Vtgn I Mean that's welcome to the world of options. Have you tried inverse condors? Um, what do you mean by an inverse? Condor Do you mean like buying versus selling a condor? I Think you mean either going long or going short in Iron condor? Uh, when you're saying inverse and this is just a little bit of confusion on my part. Most of the time inverse, you're just kind of looking at the upside down technical structure like you have a head and shoulders. Then there's an inverse Head and Shoulders. But when it comes to a condor, that's an options trading technique. Um, so usually you're either going long a condor or you're like selling a condor long or short a condor. Not really an inverse condor.
Um, unless you're referring to something that maybe I'm just like unaware of. Uh, it was a perfect trend line balance. But you set your stop above the trend line. Yeah, but generally a trend line you would want at least like the the creation.
Like the Anchor Point for the trend line and then two tests. I mean just two tests. Like if you're just looking at two points I Mean there's no saying like usually you want more confirmations. like at this moment, it was almost too early to have any trend line like whatsoever.
Here's a little different because now we're talking about a third one. But when you're on this one like that, you're just too early in the day. you don't have enough to see if that's like a legitimate trend line or not. Especially if you're drawing.
drawing these two I mean you're on the one minute chart comparing 937 to 939. This is one touch. This is two touch. Generally, when you're talking about trend lines, you're looking at a third attempt.
either a break or rejection or even more. It could be the fourth one, the fifth one, the sixth one. but just to be at your second one. Well, now you're just connecting two points and hoping that that is the trend that other people in the market are looking at.
Um I would never I mean the way I've been taught and the way other Traders trade that I guess I just have an appreciation for like know that they're successful, this that or the other thing. Um, generally it's three or more touches that you're looking for. and by touch I mean it could be a breakout. A breakdown.
It could be a rejection. any of that, but uh, it's usually when you're looking at like three or more, not just two. Uh, when does the mullet come out? Oh the my stand-in on Friday cat uh I mean he's more of a Friday worker I don't think he's even up yet today on Mondays he's just. he's probably just too jacke
