So everyone pushes College College college and I went to college I have a master's degree I make very good money for my age. My husband did not go to college and I've talked about this on here before and I don't think you understand I don't think you understand it. so I'm going to throw it into perspective for you and I say it not to brag. Sounds like she's coming with some facts, figures and details I Like that I Have a college degree.
He has a high school diploma. He went to trade school right after high school. He got his certificates and everything and here we go. So this past July he had already brought home brought home more than my gross salary this year come.
December he will have quadrupled my salary quadrupled it if he decides to pick up overtime on a weekend a two-day weekend. If he picks up overtime, he brings home that weekend just in those two days more than I make in a twoe check I have a master's degree. He has a high school diploma. So that reason right there is why.
I will not push College on anyone. If you think that college is not for you and you want to try a trade school, obviously, look into it. See, if you think that you have what it takes and then 100% do it. Do it.
I Don't think that enough people are talking about this and it is 100% worth it if you stick with it. He's been doing it for 8 years so obviously he has made his way up the ladder. But if he leaves his job today, 100% guarantee he will make the exact same amount of money wherever else he decides to go. I Cannot I cannot stress it enough I can't stress it enough I am so jealous like he doesn't have student debt nothing and he's quadrupling my salary in one year I Don't really disagree with her on anything but I Want to add a little bit more context? a little bit more of like I don't know my personal thoughts on it cuz I've researched this a ton I've thought about it a ton.
We've talked about it a ton right here. First of all, this is a classic supply and demand thing. All these trade schools, there's a low supply of them right now, but the demand is either the same or increase which just pushes their pay higher. That is a classic equilibrium of L demand.
So for anyone watching this thinking okay, like I just want a job blah blah blah like yeah, that is a great great Avenue For you, it's a great path for you financially. especially now. What's so weird about it? How do we ever get into this is because for some reason in society, they've constructed it as if we look down on Blue Collar people working with our hands. But then if you're white collar, somehow you're better.
So everyone went into that and it too high of a supply. Too low of a demand. That's basic like I don't think I'm blowing anyone's mind there. But what I find particularly interesting is I watch all these videos I Read all these accounts of people saying hey, I have my degree I can't pay, Don't just say you have a degree, Say what you have a degree in she has a master's degree I have no idea what her master's degree is but I hear this I hear so many videos of I have my bachelors, my masters my PhD and I can't afford if your degree is in lesbian dance Theory There is no demand for it if your degree is in underwater basket weaving, it doesn't matter if you have 18 Phds in it, no one gives a Sh because Society does not demand that so you're not going to get paid. So this concept of I just have a degree. No, it matters what you have your degree in. For example, all these people going to trade schools they don't technically have a bachelor's, a master's, or PhD they obviously have education and performance and certificates within their field. none of those fancy degrees and yet they're commonly making more than everyone else.
So there's so many things going on here. To me, it all boils down to Classic Supply and demand. and I think the world is like kind of unwilling to realize it because for whatever reason as I alluded to, we've built it up as if we look down on blue collar workers and somehow putting white collar workers on like a pedestal and it makes no sense. Not all of college in my opinion is a scam but a lot of it is.
I totally understand why we need stem Fields uh law, medical, all that stuff. but where I went to school I went to Penn State I think there was 200 majors dude right away you could CAU off 175 of them that like you just know you're never because of the interest and how much college is and what the average pay is for when you get out. These people are getting themselves into a financial situation that mathematically they can never get out from under. and then we're asking what these 17-year-olds to make that decision and understand the decision they're making for their life when all they really know is the societal pressure to like, do the good job and like society's then defining it.
It blows my mind. I'm happy that more and more people are starting to realize that a lot of the way all this is structured is complete baloney and I just hope we continue to Trend in the right way and I think the markets will end up forcing that because people like this are starting to realize oh wow, he went to a trade school and he makes quadruple what I make I I think as those stories spread I think we'll kind of the pendulum will go back in the right way. At least that's my hope for this situation.
He works harder than you though 😂😂😂
He does not just have a high school diploma.
He has a high school diploma and a trade school certificate.
Just because it does not have a fancy name, doesn´t mean that it somehow is not a degree.
Have a masters and I’m considered well paid in comparison to median income across the country. However my area of NJ a shack without property that needs a complete reno is $700-$1M prior to property tax, insurance, other household expenses. My paychecks only now after taxes and working my way up 10 years at the same job is only now nearing the same I made out of high school waitressing working fewer hours
Bro my local teachers at California State University in Sacramento is having a strike b/c the school board wants to raise tuition 35% over the next 5 years. They're all like, for what? Money is apparently going to administration 🤦♂
Trades is great for some. College is good for some. But saying college is fraud is a fallacy. Many benefits of not working in trade jobs, money is not only factor.
THANK U THICC MATT for clarifying these TicTok vids
what’s stopping her from doing a trade? She’s young- learn plumbing or welding
My girlfriend came out of law school $150K in debt. I made a $150K running tower cranes in a year.
She’s upset that she settled.
I failed school so further education was a no went on to be a plumber then a gas engineer now run a 7 million a year company and struggle to spell my own name

Not everyone can handle a real mans job. You actually have to work work lol like build shit and move heavy shit. Not stand or sit around
I have tried to tell people this for years, as others have. Glad this is getting more attention now.
I have 3rd degree burn on shiny cardboard collection, why am I not filthy rich 😂
A tradesman will make money when he is young and its not raining or their is a not recession, oh there's the fact you will spend your old age in poverty.
No woman wants to date a LOSER construction worker. No status there and her friends will only laugh at her. I've worked construction 20 yrs. 250k/year, Ferrari in the garage and if you're not 6foot tall it doesn't matter. You will always be a LOSER CONSTRUCTION WORKER. STOP FEEDING GUYS BULLSHIT. Besides, hows a gal supposed to rack up a PROPER body count if she doesnt go to college?
Why did she take basket weaving it’s her fault
i'm gonna quit high school and be the next Bill Gates. /s
Licensed Auto Tech 25 years. Worked hard in most departments. Service, new car, used car and detailing. Was able to transfer my skills and open my own business. With my license I realistically can go work anywhere in North America and AI can't take my job.
I understand new concepts and have been trading stocks and in Bitcoin since 2016
I am doing just fine 🙂 🔧
I have been in construction 34 years and I'm so glad I never went to college. I am working during all of the recessions and during the GFC. Find something you like and get really good at it. I have been painting 34 years
As Attorney General for California your current VP Harris prosecuted a private business school for passing out worthless degrees at an excessive price. Of course she could have prosecuted any public university for exactly the sams thing.
and if it wasnt for ESG score demanding every public company have some gender studies nutcase employed, they'd be all jobless too.
Then go work in the building trade, but you wont as its to hard work which i have done for 40 years, its not for anyone who is weak in mind or physically, if i had a choice back then the degree and easy work with lesser wages, i would go for that
Everyone went to college to get a degree in Unicorn sexuality Psychology and OOPS no one cares. That coupled with the fact that the College experience is ruined as far as open and fair discussion of ideas and opinions. I'm not surprised the value of College is falling. Save it for Doctors or Engineers etc.. Btw trades take common sense brain power and also skills. not everyone is built for it. And I mean literally from childhood if you've never plaid sports or some kind of hand eye coordination skills developed then forget it. You're just going to be fumbling around with tools that and hurt yourself or God forbid someone else.
Listen yall if u guys dont go to college atleast for associates ull end up like these guys prey to AMC goin to 1000 now look at them holding till 0 hahaha 😂
