What's going on moon gang, i hope that you're having a good one, here's your friendly reminder to not sleep on gamestop jimmy had a pretty good day closed out the day at 254, which was a gain of 4.77 and in this video i kind of want to Give you a quick rundown of what happened today and what to look for to close out the month of may so, let's hop right into it. So first thing, like i said, a gain of almost five percent, but i i want to share this just because it makes me feel some sort of way. Over the past week, gme is up almost 50 of 49 and also according to ortex shout out to ortex. So far this week, short sellers have lost 1 billion over 1 billion betting against gamestop.
You know what they say: can't stop won't stop gamestop. Also quick reminder here: don't forget uh, we do have an upcoming fundamental catalyst right here june, 8th according to the nasdaq website. Will be their next earnings announcement so potentially what comes out of there right now? Gamestop talking a lot more about nfts. If there's some interesting developments with that, i think that these shorts could be in even more trouble.
So, like i said, do not sleep on gamestop. In terms of the exact numbers, so today the borrow change in the shares on loan was a return of almost a quarter million, which means that the shares on loan - probably around 14.5 million. The utilization started off around 69, it's probably around 68, and when you put all that together, that means that the estimated short interest of gme is just above 20 in terms of the days to cover of how quickly all the shorts could get out of the position. If they all did it simultaneously, it would still take almost two entire trading days.
Please please remember that this equation is computed by the amount of estimated shorts divided by some average volume. I like to use a smaller time frame such as the two week, but on days like today, gamestop had a volume of 15.4 million, which was bigger than we've recently seen. So don't be surprised tomorrow. When i update you on twitter that the dtc is actually going to go down just because you're dividing by a bigger number, please please expect that, in terms of the technicals awesome day, we for quite a while we're following this trendline, and then we had an awesome Day on may 25th, from there we were at this resistance, where it was previously rejected around 220, but nice gap up and from now we have this region of resistance between 220 and 230.
That has now turned into support. That's very, very common in the world of trading support becomes resistance. Resistance becomes support, vice versa, so anyway, we now have this region of resistance and we tracked all the way up to 262, which was previous support, and it's now clearly acting as resistance. We rejected around 264 today so roughly in that same region tomorrow, i'm looking for some follow through, and i want to see how it reacts to 283 and past that, just that key psychological level of 300.. I'm telling you, i feel very, very strong that if we get above 300 easy sailing up to this february, first high around 325 and from there i'm going to watch this high on march 10th of roughly 3 50. overall. Look at this jimmy has been on an incredible rally ever since may 11th. Until this very moment at today's high we were up 92.7 percent and at close we were up 85.5.
So for whoever is potentially telling you that gme is done and forget about it. I mean look at this rally. I don't think it's done at all with that being said, though, i would love to get your thoughts on gme in a comment below if you enjoyed this video i'd appreciate it.
