Today, it is the first friday of the month and on the first friday of every single calendar month, you get the unemployment and that number just came out at 8 30.. So we're going to be going over that we have some interesting comments coming from tesla. If you look at or elon and because of that tesla is now down, i want to talk a little bit about cheryl sandberg over at facebook. Last night it's just the celtics, they came back and the warriors were supposed to win and they looked good for the first three quarters and then the last quarter.

I'm just frustrated like what the hell happened in the last quarter. If you're a celtics fan you're stoked, but what happened dude can any? Can anyone who knows more about basket hoops? I don't know musk much about basket hoops. I really don't like pay attention to too many sports uh and basketball's, not one of them, but i love gambling love gambling. If you can gamble on it, i'm gon na be intrigued and i ended up losing quite a bit of money.

So now i'm just frustrated and what the happened like at first it started so good i mean curry was setting like records for the amount of three-pointers made in the first quarter. Then, between both the warriors and the celtics, the record was being set for the most threes made in the first half and then they came out and the third quarter was good and then the warriors like nah we're not gon na play. If you guys need a quick recap on my q's position yesterday, i updated everyone in locals that i got out right at market close around like 345 350.. So i made back more than my losses that, like so, we had a winning trade, another winning trade, a larging, loser trade and then the fourth trade was a winning one and it was a monster winning one, because you could see the market just ripped and ripped And ripped so i locked that in and i think we're going to get a little bit more volatility today. So i'm pretty excited about that. Um! It's going to be a fun day.

Hopefully it's going to be a fun day and we will be talking about the individual stocks. Amc gme redbox. They all have crazy short interest right now, especially redbox, but before we get into that, here's what you need to know so at 8 30 this morning we got the new jobs report, so they were expecting 328 000. Instead, the non-farm payrolls was 390.

So we added more jobs than expected. The unemployment rate was 3.6, but the consensus was 3.5. You might be thinking to yourself, whoa whoa, whoa, whoa whoa. How can we add more jobs and then yet the unemployment rate is higher.

Well, that actually tells you that the labor pool the amount of people who are looking for a job actually on a proportional rate got larger. It's just a mathematical sleight of hand, so jobs added good unemployment rate up by a tenth of a percent more than expected, but overall in the general magnitude, if you're sub 4 in unemployment, that's like actually still really really good. U.S may average hourly earnings were up 0.31, so, okay, that's good. Unfortunately, it's not outpacing inflation, but at least it's going up and then obviously you have the uh private sector payroll and then the government payroll.

I i don't really use that. I just figure. If you want it great it's there, so i wanted to go over all those numbers. Remember the first friday of every single month we get the unemployment rate, so that is obviously it's the first friday of the month.

So that's why this is out and that's why, if you look at your charts at 8 30, there was some special volatility. There. Payrolls rose 390 000 in may better than expected, as companies keep hiring. I think this is kind of interesting because we're getting a lot of conflicting information, so, for example, this came out and we're getting it more of just the generic statement of companies keep hiring and yet not long ago, snapchat said hey.

We have to slow down our hiring microsoft, similar things nvidia similar things. A lot of them are talking about slowing growth and then yet we're getting headlines like this and those other headlines were coming out within the past two weeks, and literally this is one that came out this morning. Elon musk wants to cut tesla 10 of jobs and has a super bad feeling about the economy. The company employed nearly a hundred thousand people at the end of last year, meaning thousands of jobs could be axed.

This is coming right after tesla and really more so because of elon and seeing what's going on with twitter. They were talking about how hey you can't work remotely. You have to come back to the office, and this is more information on that. The more senior you are, the more visible your presence must be.

This is why i lived in the factory uh, so much so that those on the line could see me working alongside them. If i had not done that, test will would long ago have gone bankrupt. So he's just talking about the presence being important and it's like you can tell things, are shaken up because he's saying hey, you need to come back into the office and it looks like they might be cutting 10 and we're seeing the same rhetoric of like less Hiring for sure snapchat, nvidia uh, the list goes on and on and on, and then yet we see interesting. Things like this of companies keep hiring so once again, a strange environment to say the least, because there's definitely conflicting information coming out well, regardless, after that, we now have the dow the s p and the nasdaq in the red, um they're down 0.7, 0.9 and 1.4.

That's a decent drop oil is once again picking up. I'm still going to be hammering the point home that i don't know how you can't be bullish on oil. I'm not saying you have to play it, i'm not saying you have to do anything, i'm just a guy that has a like incredible sense of fashion. I am not a financial advisor.

I cannot drive this point home enough. Do not copy me. Maybe you agree with my ideas and maybe you had those ideas. Maybe you have better thought out ideas and you're like okay, i'm doing that or maybe you're like wow.

This kid is the worst tesla trader i've ever seen whatever he does with tesla by pure luck. He's gon na get it wrong, so i know i need to go the opposite way. Folks do not look at me as some sort of guru expert trader, because i am not. I want to make that clear.

If i was some phenomenal expert trader, there would have been billionaires. Calling me up saying yo manage this money manage that money manage that folks, i have a hard enough time managing my own money, let's be very, very clear about that. Anyway, yields also going up so bonds taking a little bit of downturn, and now you see a strange correlation between bonds and really the overall market, which is abnormal to say the least. If things go in the worst direction possible, there's a chance that we could see, bonds and equities and crypto all going down in the bear market, which is a huge huge rarity.

Usually, you don't see bonds moving in a correlated or directly correlated manner with equities, but this time around there could be an equity crash and a bond crash. It's theoretically possible, like that's the correlation, we're seeing right now, and that would be no bueno. Well, we already went over the report and unemployment went up, but we added more jobs than expected.

Economists expected 328 000, but we acted. What was it 390. tesla shares follows: musk, reportedly wants to cut 10 a job, so obviously, we've already been over that i just want to show you where tesla's at right now so tesla yesterday closed at 7.75, but now in pre-market because of these statements, we are At 738, so it is down 4.8 in pre-market trading uh. So i hope you didn't have any calls on tesla, because that one sucks opec plus raises oil output faster than expected for july and august, even though they did it.

It's not enough, and it's a little bit too late. That's exactly why you're seeing oil continue higher and higher and higher. It is literally just flirting with this massive cup and handle breakout. I am bullish on oil, which sucks, because that means gas is going to go up just.

I was just talking with some people and in my hometown, right where i am there just a couple weeks ago, a week ago, two weeks ago, oil was like 465 a gallon and i looked at it last night. It's now 4.95 a gallon and it might be painful to digest, but i think it's going to get higher and higher and higher. I think things in terms of energy, gasoline, natural gas, all that stuff, your energy bill. Anything you pay that's related to that world.

It's going to get more painful before it gets better. I know that's painful, to hear, don't shoot the messenger. I am not the one who invaded ukraine. I am not the one who caused supply chain issues in the world of petroleum.

It's not me, but if you look at what's going on, there's just going to be a clear supply crunch and an increase in demand and that's just going to send crude higher and higher and higher. In my humble opinion, coinbase extends hiring, freeze and plans to pull some offers, extends hiring, freeze the same thing as tesla snapchat nvidia and then yet that's what i'm saying about the conflicting information and yes, you might be pointing out well, hang on matt a lot of These are in tech and tech is high growth high risk, so you could be right. Maybe it's a particular subset and maybe jobs are getting picked up elsewhere in the market, but um funky things going on, to say the least. The fed isn't likely to pause its rate hikes anytime soon, as the economy still has a lot of momentum according to the vice chair, lael brainard.

So she was speaking yesterday and basically when she got done around 10 30 10 30 ish am et that's. When the market started to rippity rip rip rip, the fed isn't likely to pause its rate hike pace in the near future. So that's telling us that yields are still going to go up, interest rates are still going to go up and with them going up, bonds were probably going to go down and if bonds are going down - and we see a correlation between bonds and equities and crypto Pressure and that's exactly why, in my update videos in the short term, i'm actually bullish, i think we are getting experience and we're in the midst of a bear market rally like now like if you're watching this live. I think we are actively in a bear market rally and i think we're gon na go higher, like i don't think, we've seen the recent peak of this push, i think we go higher, but i just don't think that's going to lead to a new all-time high.

It might, but i still think we end up coming down. I want to be explicitly clear, short term. I am bullish, but i think we are experiencing a bear market rally just because i don't think we are out of the forest. Yet with all the crazy.

That's going on, russia is still with ukraine. Our inflation is still very, very serious. There is a craziness going on in the job market right now there are serious things with a very hawkish fed, we're not done to just be like, oh no, okay, that was it like just january until basically the start of june. We are not out of the woods yet uh brainerd said: bringing inflation back down.

Is the fed's number one challenge right now, as data have yet to show a steady cooling trend right now, it's very hard to see the case for a pause, as in they're. Still probably going to be hitting us with two percent or like trying to get us to two percent, so they'll probably keep hitting us with a 0.5 rate interest rate increase if inflation goes up like in a noteworthy manner. That's when we might have to start talking about a 0.75 increase, we still got a lot of work to do to get inflation down to our 2 target. The commons contrast earlier, hence that the fed would pause hiking rates later this year.

So the later this year thing they still might it's right now we know jerome powell, the chairman of the fed, he's been meeting with the president we're in an election year and when, in its election year you get into this weird thing where people will do what They can to retain their power or get into power, and they won't give a about your retirement accounts. They won't care about your 401ks. They won't care about your iras. They won't care about what's best for the economy, they won't care what's best about for the stock market they care about.

How can they get elected and or re-elected? So i feel like when you're in election years, you kind of throw everything out the window of what might be logical, they're gon na do what's best in the short term, to get good articles written about them to pump up their approval numbers a little bit. It's more of a short-term thing, even if it's a long-term detriment. I hope that makes sense but they're going to do really short term positive things, because that's how you get elected so as we get closer and closer to i guess november, that's the type of stuff! We need to be paying attention to is how much is the flood influenced or not influenced by really the current regime? Now i know recently, jerome powell was meeting with president biden and biden said: hey you're like we're going to completely stay out of it. No you're not.

We really think we're that stupid to think that the current government is going to stay out of the way of the fed they're, probably calling each other every single day, like the fact that they were like we're going to let them like hey like they have autonomy. We're not getting in a way again, no like i was born at night, but i wasn't born last night like come on, come on come on come on jim chanos, defends short sellers sounds the alarm on crypto fraud and warns against investing in china. Here are his 12 best quotes from an interview he did recently. You might have heard this name before because about a year ago, maybe even more than a year ago, he actually like stated.

I have an issue with manipulative short selling. The same way i have issue with manipulative buying manipulation can happen in any direction. Illegal, illicit nefarious actions can push equity or crypto to the upside there's a lot of pump and dumps, and this nft stuff going on. Like you see that happening, and it could also push it to the downside in a blanket statement, i'm against manipulation, but i think people should have the ability to bet in whatever direction they think it's going to actually go.

If you take a legal, legitimate short against. Whatever equity or crypto have at it, maybe your thesis is right. Maybe your thesis is wrong. I draw the line if it's manipulative and i don't care if it's manipulative to the upside or the downside, i'm against that, because that's not the way a market should work.

We should all be playing the game fairly, and with this i mean he publicly stated that he was short amc. So the fact that it was public tells me he probably went through the right channels because you wouldn't say on public and get people to look at. You and then hang on if yours ended up being an illegitimate one like you're calling attention to yourself. That would be like super super stupid uh i mean i haven't looked into his and really i don't think i could.

I think that's something that the sec would have to do or the dtcc or whatever it is. So i don't even know if we have the ability. But overall i see what he's saying of like all of a sudden like even when i post videos of like hey, i think the spy is going to come down because of this this and this related to the fed people freak out. They're like no.

It's not like there is this idea that, like things, should only go up and people should only build buyers. I don't know there are fraudulent companies out there. There are many fraudulent, let's say pharmaceutical companies out there. I have no moral qualms with you going against a company that you think is fraudulent.

Why not make money on the downside, something like looking coffee that was not reporting its numbers properly. People sought that out. These really detective financial investigators who happen to be shorts, and they made a lot of money unlucky coming to the downside because they figured out it was fraudulent if you can make money off proving something's fraud. Like i don't know, i don't see the issue with it and maybe one of you can explain it to me like i'm.

I don't know i. I have no issues with shorting. I have issues with naked, shorting, manipulative shorting and i guess the same could be said on the flip side of the coin, with doing anything that is in a in a legal manner to push something higher that you're once again just manipulating. But this concept of just purely being against shorts because, like you, don't think people should short, i i don't know i i just don't quite agree with that on a completely unrelated topic, but i just find it fascinating cheryl samberg, who was kind of one of the Top dogs at facebook, or now called meta, was under investigation at metaphor, using corporate resources to plan her wedding.

So this is some breaking news that was all over on wednesday that she's kind of getting the old boot from the company men as cheryl sandberg, was under investigation for using corporate resources to plan her wedding met, a spokeswoman, caroline nolan told the journal. None of this has anything to do with her personal decision to leave f sounds us sounds really sus to me and i just want to know what happened like she is uh. I believe she wrote that book lean in that a lot of people liked and now she says, she's gon na focus on her philanthropic efforts. I highly doubt it was her personal decision.

I think what happened. Did she just take like half the interns from one summer? She's, like hey, i know you came here to learn about facebook. Maybe do a little bit of coding, maybe learn about ads and business, but no you're gon na help me plan my wedding. Is that like what happened with cheryl like one day like a couple weeks into the summer internship, she like kicked the goddamn doors and she's like mike, i said peonies, you dick like?
