Foreign, Foreign Foreign America is good. All right. let's see if this working. Good morning, Good morning, good morning.
I Hope you guys didn't miss me too much. We were on a little bit of an extended trading vacation if you will because of President's Day Now the Futures Market was still open so I was letting the robot trade and I probably shouldn't have done that because it basically gave back all of the gains that it made on Friday. But yeah, we'll We'll save that for a little bit later. Let's talk about some good things before we get into the Matt core show where I'm at your course and together we are the show.
How's it? How's everyone's long weekend? How's everyone's long weekend? I mean I mind myself oh I actually have a couple stories to share with you should we do that now? I Think we should do that now. Okay, okay okay okay I have a couple stories to share and we're gonna get in to the first two of the stories that I need to share with all of you before we get into the stocks and the markets and things moving up and moving down. So you probably don't know this about me, but uh, growing up. I've been in avid skier my whole life.
My dad was a ski patrolman for many, many years before I was born. So when I was born I was one of those kids that you know sometimes you see like a random like three-year-old on the mountain and you're like how does that work they don't know anything I wasn't one of those kids I've just been schemed skiing skiing I was a ski instructor in high school. Loved it, loved it, loved it. Absolutely loved being on the mountain, learned how to snowboard, did the whole thing I wanted to teach both I did both all over and then College comes and then life gets busy and I Think up until this past weekend, the last time I ever ever skied was probably sophomore year.
We're probably talking Circa 2014. and my completely real girlfriend who once again is completely real. uh, she's wanted to ski and I think she's gone once or twice. her family's out in Colorado So she kind of recently took a lesson there.
She met up with some friends this season. That was her second skiing lesson. She's like, hey, you keep talking like in our whole relationship you've never skied, but you always say you're a big skier. like what's the deal we should do? we should do I'm like, okay, whatever I have a three-day weekend off from the market like let's go skiing.
let's go to like my home mountain in Pennsylvania and let's do it. So we made that decision two weeks ago and I called my mom I say hey Ma can you find my skis I know where they are in the garage? Can you help me out and bring them down to the local ski place to get them tuned up like you got to get a wax. You gotta get like the edges sharpened and everything. And this was two weeks ago.
She's like can do favorite son of mine, only son of hers I say thank you so much thank you so much Thank you so much! So time passes and I show up I Get there on Friday you know we had the morning stream on Friday I turned off all my stuff I pack my bag and I go and I get there. It also happens to be my mom's birthday today Mom I Don't know if you're watching but happy birthday Uh folks. very like. Honestly, I'm not messing around. It truly is my mom's birthday so we were there. We're excited we're gonna have a ski day. We're gonna make my mom some cake, we're gonna make some food. We're gonna hang out with families.
It's gonna be an awesome weekend. Everyone's gearing up for an awesome weekend. So I get there on Friday and I'm like hey Mom uh like what's the deal with the ski stuff uh and she's like oh yeah they they said it was going to be done Thursday at the latest or Thursday Friday at the latest and the whole concept for us to was to go skiing early Saturday morning. For those of you who have never skied before, it is far better to be the first person on the mountain and also in my area.
There was a little bit of rain on Friday which means after a little bit of skiing all the people are going to knock off the good snow and it's just going to be pure ice. So there is a huge advantage to being out there because you get the best I guess slopes before everyone else and also on President's Day weekend. uh like I was gonna have to rent gear for my completely real girlfriend so the lines were gonna get long. It's just for many many reasons you want to be the first person on the mountain.
It's faster, you get your gear more quickly and it's better and there's less people on the mountain. So I'm trying to teach her to like improve her skills so there's many things going on but it all comes to the it all has a summation. to be there early so I get back on Friday I'm like hey Mom where's the gear you said it was going to be done yesterday they told you it's gonna be done yesterday for like today the latest she's like oh they like never reached out to me and I was like what we're supposed to be out there early when I say early you want to be there at like 8 A.M when it starts it's about an hour away so that's seven so I'm getting up at 6 30. and I'm like okay, they probably open early I'll get it so I call them and no one picks up.
This is now Friday evening and it says we don't open until Saturday at 10. So the place that has my skis doesn't open till 10.. so if I get there I leave by 10 15 I get to the mountain at 11 15 at best and by the time we get all the gear and everything, we're now not getting on the mountain until maybe 11 30 noon o'clock we were supposed to be there at 8 A.M and I'm trying to be a positive Pete Here it's my mom's birthday weekend, I'm there with my completely real girlfriend trying to share a passion of mine and I try to be a positive P I try I try, I try I try so I show up Saturday morning I'm already a little perturbed I'm not gonna I'm not gonna lie to you folks I was upset I was already supposed to have two hours of quality skiing in with no one on the mountain in better snow and I get there I'm like it's okay. like you don't want to get into an argument with them because if you do get into an argument with them, it's going to take more time. and if you take more time, that's less time skiing. So as as I'm walking into the store I think Matt do not argue, Don't argue with them. So I walk in and I say hey I'm picking up a pair of skis. My name is Matt cores and she says okay, great and there's only three sets of skis there.
so she takes someone that's obviously mine and she's ringing enough and I was like hey, quick question uh I just kind of curious what happened with the miscommunication? That's exactly how I worded it. Why did I word it that way? Well, my completely real girlfriend in an unrelated story just read that like better negotiation book and I forget the name of it. but there's a really like common high quality negotiation book I think written by a guy who used to be like a hostage negotiator and I'm not saying that this was a hostage scenario, but it kind of felt like it. But anyway I'm sure someone in chat has to know this book and uh, you're like as soon as you get like defensive and start swearing everything crumbles apart, you want to remain calm.
You want to communicate clearly and understand that like there's a way in which you can both win. So I come in I was like Hey curious what happened with the miscommunication I teed it up in a way that we can both take 50 50 blame because really what was supposed to happen was when I was driving back on Friday this is new information that I found out Friday night to Saturday morning was my mom called them on Friday she said hey my the skis were supposed to be ready yesterday. where are they and they're like they're not here yet but they're coming and as soon as they do we'll call you and she said great I'll be in town she has her own business. she's like I'll be in crowd in town until after close so as soon as they're there I'll swing by and pick him up on my way.
Obviously they never ever called. So I now get in there Saturday morning and what's the name of the book The Negotiator I don't think that's the name of the book? uh never split the difference. that might have been it but whatever it is. So I get in there and I say hey I'm Matt I'm picking up my skis I try to remain calm and she goes to the other side of the counter I'm there with my keys and my credit card and I say hey quick question.
What was the miscommunication? uh and my attempt in doing that was to set it up where we could each take blame because I Get it, People get crazy, lives get crazy, businesses get crazy I Was expecting it to be along the lines of oh, we're so sorry we didn't call like things have been hectic and truthfully I would have been like hey, I get it, life gets crazy Thank you so much. Catch you later we're going skiing. It didn't go that way. it uh, it actually went the opposite way because I said hey, what's with the miscommunication and she said I don't know what you're talking about and I said oh it was told to me and please correct me if I'm wrong maybe I have bad information that the skis were going to be ready on Thursday Friday at the latest my mom had called on Friday and you said they weren't there that and they would be back and she's like well they were back yesterday I was like oh what do you mean she's like Hey we're back at 4 pm I was like oh that's even more interesting now because you said you were gonna call and she's like oh I thought you meant you would just come Saturday morning and I said but in this whole story that I've been told and you're now retelling to me because I feel like there's a little bit of miniman information Saturday hasn't been said at at all. So what's going on here I feel like there's a little bit of a problem like what is this communication folks I You not. this is 100 real this lady Just to give you a better idea of like who I'm dealing with is an absolute Karen just instead of blonde hair picture brown hair, picture brunette hair and you already have a like we are talking about a middle-aged Karen I'm standing there. They told me that they were gonna call but they just didn't because she thought calling on Friday just meant we'll be there Saturday and then I was like oh like, doesn't that seem weird I I believe though the sentence I said I said if you were me, how would you perceive the situation I went out of my way to not raise my voice I went out of my way to not yell folks I just wanna maybe I need to step back so you can fully appreciate her full body language after I asked this this question so hold hold tight I'm gonna enter from stage right or left or whatever stage this is So that's exactly what she did. She looked at me like a hormonal teenage girl and said so like even I don't know if I nailed the face right there she dead in the eyes, arms out like I I don't have a teenage daughter but I'm sure someone in here has to have a teenage daughter and you know what I'm talking about I I Had flashbacks to when my sister argued with my parents and stuff like just like that, common and this is a grown woman so like I don't I don't think I'm getting uh the the face right here and like it but like you guys know what I'm talking about that Vibe like I don't think I'm now yeah like like but this whole I'm like okay, like I am now negotiating with the terrorist as I was informed from this books that I didn't even um and I was like okay, you gotta stay calm because you're not going to get what you want and all I want at this point is an apology That's a hundred percent all I want is for someone to admit that they were running a business.
Something happened inappropriately. just say sorry I don't care about the money I don't care about anything I feel like I've lost time and the money for this which it wasn't expensive at all. The money for this is not going to fix it I just want someone a human to acknowledge that you messed up my weekend and it's cool accidents happen just be like hey my apologies, things are crazy that's all I wanted I could have walked in and she could have just said man, we are so sorry for this and I've been like hey, whatever things happen and I would have moved on with my life instead I got so and at this point internally my blood is boiling. It is boiling I'm a I'm a hot little volcano on the inside. but I'm thinking about how you negotiate with the terrorist and you don't let them know that your blood is boiling, not whatsoever. So I I once again propose the question to her. uh and she goes on about how she didn't know anything about this and I was like well, you do know something about it because you know that they were here at four and you were supposed to call and it really doesn't matter because it's your business. she was the owner of the business or Cohen or whatever I was like at the end of the day the buck stops with you.
it's your business like whatever um and some other things were said and I'm there with my completely real girlfriend and this is where the conversation took another interesting, unique turn if you will. I didn't want to tell the lady what I wanted but my girlfriend knew what I wanted because I before I got out of the car I was like dude I just want this lady to say sorry. that's all I want And after we were sitting there and you could tell that the girl, like some people are good with conflict, other people are normal and then some people are particularly bad with conflict. This lady was particularly bad with conflict.
she was acting like an adolescent girl like her body language her face so so so that's the owner of a business that I had to deal with. So anywho, my completely girlfriend says like well, you kind of see that things went wrong I I think you should just say sorry. that's when my completely real girlfriend said and then the lady, she's the well I am sorry and in retrospect I should have just ended it there I could have been like great. thank you for that.
How much do I owe you? Here's my credit card thank you but I didn't think that smartly in real time I did not think that smartly in real time. Instead I proposed a new question and this is where it went wrong. So just to keep you up to date, my girlfriend says hey, maybe you should just apologize for this It kind of like had implications on our weekend and she said, well, I am sorry and this is where it went wrong and I'm happy that I could share it with all of you I said huh, Don't you think it's odd that us the patrons had to tell you to say sorry opposed to you just saying sorry on your own accord because it's some mishap within your own business I didn't say it that eloquently, but I basically just said, don't you find it weird that we had to tell you you should say sorry as a grown adult running a business laughs and this this is where I was. It was the newest form of being gaslit. I Think it's almost as if being gaslit has evolved, but it still has It comes from the same base of being gaslit. So I I say that, Don't you think it's odd that we have to tell you you should apologize when your business has a mishap and she looked me dead in the eyes still arms out the way a young girl would do it. no and I say hang on just to clarify one more time. you don't think it's odd in any way that we had to tell you you should say sorry and she said no but I am sorry and if you think about that sentence just in general, if we were to unpack that, no, it's not odd that I was told to say sorry but I am in fact sorry there.
That's a real time gaslit scenario and I was like this is crazy like absolutely crazy and then it ended with like the whole time the cast registers in between us and I get it like I'm still respectful of the fact that she's a woman I'm a man I did not swear I did not raise my voice I didn't try to make myself big because if you do that stuff, you're not going to win the negotiation and you're also just a douchebag I just try to be a human speaking and I didn't want to be physically intimidating or anything like that and this is going to be important in a second. So I say okay, we're getting nowhere I'll pay you and she uh, said no I'm not taking your money and then just sat down like we're talking like the way we are now and it kind of looked like this, like I'll be me for a second. All right, this is getting nowhere. Uh, how much do I owe you and then now as if I were her no I'm not taking your money and then she just stop she like kind of looked at me and just nothing.
that was it. just just just just just just that like just staring at me so uh she was. It somehow ended in a scenario where she was mad at me for her business up like just the look on her face. She was mad at me like just like anger and like I don't think she was good at conflict and I I just don't get it at all.
all she had to do was walk in and be like what was the miscommunication she could be like oh I'm so sorry for that and he could have been taken 15 seconds. That's all it had to be. but I don't know it was. it was strange, it was strange.
Uh so my first negotiating with the terrorists did not go that well. she was so like and I think it's a human thing but we've all been in situations where people get mad at you for being upset at things that they've done. so someone does something inappropriately and this is human and I think it's our like natural thing to get very very defensive about like whatever Like we've all been there, we've all inappropriately reacted when someone is mad at us for doing something we like raise your hand. We've all done it because like people get defensive, you don't want people to be angry at you and it's it's easier to right away. just be like no, I was wrong. Even in your heart, you know you did something wrong and then you get mad at them for being mad at you and it's just weird and like, well, if they're mad, I'm mad and like blah blah blah and I get that we've all been there. If it hasn't been there like you're just not human, that's an aspect of Being Human too. and I honestly don't even fault it for that.
What I don't get is I Went in fully prepared, fully prepared with the knowledge of this book. I'm like, just stay calm. Don't swear, don't try to make yourself physically larger, you just sit there and you try to be as calm as you possibly can I just try to. That's all I did and it still went so incredibly far off the rails that I just it blew my mind.
blew my mind. Can we talk about trading MVP Sports I'm sharing my life. it's important more important than Trading And then this leads me to Story number two, which is a far shorter story. So obviously we got to the mountain, we started screeing and uh I shredded the Gnar folks I was surfing those white waves and I was crushing it I was crushing it I was crushing it I was crushing it.
And then when I got back to my place here in Manhattan uh I I get really excited. What's that? What's that movie with Tom Cruise Risky Business where he like slides is that the movie where he's like in the shirt and like that white shirt and he's partying all day I think it's called risky Business and that's every single morning when I'm looking to put ice in my espresso I make my espresso in my Nespresso and then I do like a risky Business type like style slide to get in front of my fridge because it's fun and it keeps me young. It keeps me youthful. so I like to do that to get right in front of my freezer to scoop up some ice to put it in here.
So I go from the Nespresso and I slide. uh I did that and I think I ripped my like ACL apart. so I don't know what I did skiing but it really like standing here right now I probably should not be putting any weight on my leg I don't know what I did uh but it puts some truth in the name. risky business that's for sure that is.
Uh, for sure that's what I did for my weekend. that was my President's Day weekend which also reminds me it's not only a shortened week on the first side of it, but it's going to be on the second side because Friday I was invited to go to this fancy schmancy party. Uh, so I'm not going to be streaming on Friday I Don't think unless you guys want me to stream from the airport Friday morning because the PC report does come out. but I just want to throw that out there right now, especially for some of us in here who have obviously uh, codependence issues and the parasocial relationship that we're working on. Uh, it's going to get a little strained this week. Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Going to be solid but Monday and Friday a little bit sucks. so I just want to put that out there so if you in airport stream we could do it. Uh so if you feel that we're not spending enough time together this particular week, maybe we'll put together an Air Force Maybe we'll put it together yeah no.
Sean you're reading my mind. you need to put on some chapstick. I Just felt how much my lap chip my dude this the winter here in Manhattan I Don't know what they do in the air but there's no moisture. There's absolutely no moisture ew.
Um, so did I watch the new Last of Us episode. Hell yeah it was really good. I've been enjoying that show I Don't think it's the best show ever made but I think it's a very very boom these are cracking a very very good show. Oh it's gonna be a big week so we have President's Day Today is my mom's birthday Friday I have a schmancy fancy party I'm getting my hair cut in between streams today so this is going to be the last time you see me with this amount of hair because if we're streaming later today and the content we make later on it's it's going to be far less hair.
so it's gonna be a big week. It's also, there's only 28 days in February this year. Did you guys know that 28 days? That's you know, short of a month we're dealing with here. You know, short of a month we're doing with.
Just want to throw that out there I Was doing some calendar work of my my schedule and I realized that this month only goes to 28 which is kind of crazy. I Also think that isn't one of the Paul Brothers Logan Paul Jake Paul isn't Jake Paul fighting Fury's little brother three out of four years? Yes, thank you. B I'm just pointing out how how short of a month it is, how quick of a month it is. It's a busy week, but that's our start.
I Hope you guys had as an eventful of a I guess Holiday Weekend extended weekend President's Day whatever you want to call it I hope yours was as fun as mine and I hope you didn't get got slit by a young girl who was trapped in an older Karen's body yelling at you because her business was run poorly. Um, so there's that. but with all that out of the way for now, we probably should get into what is this. Can your mom call in today so we can say happy birthday and you need to live stream all day to make up for Friday Uh, she might have to wear I'll text her I'll see if she's open to it.
we're all good I don't know. We'll see. We'll see. we'll see.
Hang on I don't. Well, how would I mean she's not gonna. Hmm I'm trying to think of the best way where she could because if she called in she would just say Hi and then what would I do like relay what you guys are saying in chat. We have to Workshop how this would work.
Uh, we'll come back to that. but if you guys have good suggestions, let me know of how we could pull that one off. But we probably should talk about the market which is going to be opening in 15 minutes. Um so the Spy kind of a second gap down. so the low on Friday was 404.05 We're now 50 60 cents below that. so we have a cat fill up to 40405. we have another Gap fill up to 408 14 and then actually from a while ago we have one up to like 421. but just over the past two trading days Thursday and Friday of last week uh two Gap fills.
So the market not looking so good in pre-market right now that Futures fall more than 200 points to start the week Home Depot drops live updates so we got to get into that right now. The Dow, the S P and the NASDAQ are all red red oil bouncing back a little bit but it was hit last week just below 77 a barrel and yield going up ever so slightly. Things are not being helped by this scenario: Ukraine War Live updates Putin Suspends nuclear arms treaty with U.S hits at Oligarch Traders President Vladimir Putin Provided an assessment of Moscow's so-called Special Military operation in Ukraine and the impact on Russia's economy during his State of the Nation address. Tuesday Putin Accused Ukraine in the West of provoking the conflict with the expansion of NATO in new European anti-rocket Defense systems Now I Think this is one of those scenarios where the truth is in the middle the more you look into this situation with what Russia did and didn't do the U.S and particularly NATO were definitely putting pressure on them that for many years they were saying don't do that, don't do that or we're gonna do something and then the world kind of went ahead and did it now.
Does that in any mean in any means mean what Russia did was acceptable? No, absolutely not acceptable. Lives were lost, It was awful. But I think a lot of the times, especially in the US here it becomes like and now we're kind of we're in this weird scenario where the sides almost flipped where it seems like the GOP doesn't want war, but the Democrats do and they want to keep funding it? Well, Like, doesn't it feel like we're in some sort of like upside down type of scenario? I Don't know. Uh, super strange stuff.
but if you look into it, the truth isn't so black and white. The reality of the situation of maybe how the provoking nature of NATO uh is a little bit more serious than just like Russia doing this on their own like free will. Now once again, does that absolve them from any of their like Antics and this, no. like they're killing innocent people.
That doesn't. but uh, I I guess I Wanted to say this of the conflict with the expansion of NATO they very much were trying to expand NATO Um, they started the war and we used the force in order to stop it. Putin Also said Russia was suspending its participation in the New Start treaty with the US that limits the two sides strategic nuclear arsenals. That's not a good sign. Oh good side at all. Most likely it's just posturing I doubt they even want to go into I Don't think anyone wants to go into a nuclear war? Uh, so it's posturing, but it's not helping the markets whatsoever. and I think just as a good Global citizen, it's not a good thing at all. U.S Secretary of State Anthony Blinken later dubbed the decision deeply unfortunate and irresponsible.
China's top Diplomat Wang Yi I Hope I'm saying that right. probably not. It's due to visit Moscow Tuesday he may meet with Putin This visit follows up a surprise trip by the U.S President Joe Biden to Kiev on Monday This is kind of particularly funny because when Biden was there, there's Now video footage of like At first like oh my God they bombed it when he was there and everything and it was all just kind of a complete farce. like fully debunked and it was just there allegedly when he was there to like make him seem more patriotic or heroic or whatever.
you want to do it and all politicians do it. This isn't just a Biden thing, this isn't just a Democrat thing. Republicans do it too. and it's just once again reinforcing the fact that Paul politicians are douchebags.
When he met with the Ukrainian President Vladimir Zielinski out of the invasion's one-year anniversary on Friday, We've been dealing with this for a year now. During the visit Biden Pledged to deliver a new package of Usaid to Ukraine worth 500 million. The funding includes artillery ammunition, anti-armor systems, and error surveillance. Radars Quick question here, does anyone particularly in America And maybe you're more informed about Ukraine and maybe you're more informed about Ohio than I am? And if you are, please share your information.
but we've given what at this point over a hundred billion or we've pledged in. Like, if you count what we have done and what we're gonna do, it's over 100 billion. The number that we're giving Ukraine is crazy. A small small fraction of that would help with very serious issues across the US.
the most recent being this oil or not sorry, the trained derailment that led to toxic chemicals getting spilled and also released into the air in Ohio I might be on a soapbox here. I might be saying something that's absolutely loony, but why can't we just give a little bit of money to the people here in our own country that are currently suffering? and I get it. I'm not just like Ohio's the recent one. There's vets in the U.S You know people who are served our country that like don't get anywhere close to the help that they need? Uh, we still have serious drug issues such as Fentanyl and heroin.
We have other very, very serious issues such as homelessness. uh, a lot of preventable deaths that would just take a little bit of funding to fix. I'm just saying, are we really in the moral position to be telling other people to clean up their house when our house is currently Pretty Dirty that's it and I get I I Get that? you can't say this type of stuff and I'm generalizing it when I know you can't because like it's super super in intertwined and I know I'm kind of giving you a super high level surface statement, but just doesn't conceptually it seem really, really bad? like really bad. and I get to be like, well, if we don't do this over here, that could in the future blah blah blah and I get that it's complicated and it's a spider's web and blah blah blah. But just on the surface level when we're heading into an election year and you have things like this in your own backyard going awry and then they're like, all right, we're going to give you another 500 million, another 500 million like don't we have the money, like to do both. Even like is that even like, maybe I don't understand our budget too Well, but it seems like our budget and our debt are completely fake and fictitious and made up. and our fed makes money whenever they want to make money. So if those numbers aren't real, if debt ceilings don't matter for If the Fed making money doesn't matter for can't we just do both at that point.
Like is that that crazy of it? Like I don't know and if we can't can't we just help out our people first? Um, so there's more going on here Biden says you have support for Ukraine is unwavering. Six civilians killed in shelling. Uh, it's just wild. It's wild across the board, so that's important.
Definitely not. uh, helping the market in any way. Uh, Also, it's not helping the fact that Walmart easily beats expectations for Holiday quarter sales and earnings. But what they don't tell you is that they lowered their Outlook And that's exactly why the last time I checked uh Walmart WMT is currently down uh, two percent.
two percent of pre-market and you're gonna see the same thing with Home Depot which is currently down 3.7 in pre-market Home Depot misses on Revenue issues muted Outlook So at least Walmart beat on their numbers Home Depot didn't do that, but then they both had kind of a negative bearish looking Outlook uh for future guidance so that's not helping at all. This is pretty much the final week of earnings. so this morning we had Walmart we had Home Depot After the market closes today, we're going to hear from Coinbase. then on Wednesday uh Baidu could be interesting just because they're now in the AI world.
they're kind of trying to compete with Chat Gbt we have Nvidia Lucian uh Unity Etsy they're all coming out Moderno Alibaba on Thursday Domino's Wayfair and that's pretty much going to be it Beyond me. and then that's going to wrap up what's referred to as earnings season. There's still one major one I'll be paying attention to I believe it is the first week of March we're going to be hearing from Rumble I'm just obviously curious their numbers because I'm invested in it I'm on their platform. Shout out to everyone that is on Rumble right now. Um, but this is pretty much the last major week of earnings for this particular season. We get four earning Seasons per year and this is the first one to get things going and this is going to be the final week of the first earnings season. So I want to put that out there that there are a couple more, but Walmart or Home Depot did not do so well. In terms of their future guidance today, in terms of macroeconomic reports that we should be paying attention to, Where did this just upload? Uh, why did I lose it? Oh, here we go.
Uh, PMI coming out at 9 45. So 15 minutes into the training day, we get existing home sales at 10. we get Fomc minutes on Wednesday February 22nd. So tomorrow, uh, we have more fed discussions.
we get GDP stuff on Thursday and then Friday An hour before the Market opens, we get the Pce report, which is like the CPI. It's another inflation report, so this one the Pce report a little bit more broad, a little bit more timely, but the Pce report coming out an hour before the Market opens on Friday February 24th. So make sure you're paying attention to that. Where are we at On time? Still seven minutes from a seasonal perspective I Want you to know that halfway through February halfway through March it's bearish.
You are running into headwinds if you are a bull. For this particular roughly one month period mid-mar or mid-feb to mid-march just generically a seasonal downtrend. And then also more specifically with today I Wanted to bring up this: Uh, this is I tested this individual day. Over the past 25 years, the Bulls have won 36 percent of the time, which obviously means the Bears have won 64 of the time.
The profit Factor was 0.25 so for every dollar spent, only 25 cents came back, which strongly favors the Bears. This is the equity curve. Over the past 25 years, the individual trades are on the bottom, and obviously the equity is on the Y-axis It has just been downtrending, downtrending, down, trending this from a larger time frame. Obviously, seasonally bearish.
This individual day Seasonally bearish when you take into account the news of what's going on with Ukraine and Russia Uh, that's bearish overall and also from a technical perspective. Yes, there are upside gaffles, but we're breaking down below this. Recent support I would say we're heading to 400. I Can't guarantee that I'm not Clairvoyant I Don't have a crystal ball I Can't guarantee anything because really, no one ever knows what's going to happen.
But I would say most signs are pointing towards a kind of a bearish push right now. Obviously, when the Market opens, that could be that thesis could be completely ripped apart. But if we look at the technicals, two forms of seasonality and also just like what's going on in terms of the macroeconomic environment, things not the best right now with Russia the whole start thing that's making things a little bit more uncertain. We're not getting the best earnings and we're still battling inflation. I Actually don't see many positive things going on right now in the grand picture of things. so I wanted to throw that out there to you. You might agree with me, you might disagree with me I Just wanted to share my thoughts. Obviously none of it's a guarantee because no one knows what's actually going to be going down in the market.
And then that leads us to our final thing before that Bell goes dingy Ding Ding ding today. Tuesday February 21st Five things to know before the Market opens Short week: Shuffle Yep, Um, things are not looking so good. The first batch of earnings not looking the best. We kind of went over all that.
You want more earnings? You got them. Um, so yes, still earnings. Pay attention to it if you like this. This is from at E-whispers on Twitter You could screenshot it right now if you want, but the final week of earnings season Walmart reports holiday quarter results.
They did well. but their future guidance not so good. Home Depot Same situation. Biden Makes a statement and we already kind of talked about that.
So those are the major things that at least mainstream media thinks you should be aware of. And all right, we have all this. I Just want to make sure where we are, where we need to be today. Now we're going to get into more detail on this later, but today's uh, video sponsor is with honestly one of probably the coolest sponsor I've ever been able to partner with Pinned to the top of Chat in the description of the video, you're going to find a link for Street Beat.
Street Beat is a stock brokerage with a Twist so it has normal stock brokerage capabilities. If you want to buy a stock, sell a stock, great have at it. It's a normal brokerage, but on top of it, it's also a robot trading brokerage. So over the past couple days past couple weeks we've been talking much more heavily about this and this is now your opportunity.
So The Goonies have officially partnered up with Street Beat pinned to the top of chat in the description of the video normal brokerage. but they also have robot stuff so there's certain strategies that you could choose to pick if you want. Um, we can go over those in more detail, but when you sign up and use the code Matt m-a-t-t you for your initial deposit bonus, you're gonna get anywhere from five dollars all the way up to 5 000. and then from there there's other money you can get from referrals and whatnot, but just for signing up creating an account, doing your initial deposit, you're gonna get a minimum five all the way up to five thousand and then from there.
uh, just so you know it's a commission free brokerage. They do not engage with Pavement for order flow. I Know that's going to be a common question and all that. but anyway, it is called Street feet. It's pinned to the top of chat. It's in the description of the video and basically worst case scenario you're getting a free five bucks. It could go up to five thousand. but I think it's even far far better than that because there's really really cool stuff in there and I kind of want you guys to check it out.
I myself just got my money in it like the money hit the account and I'm gonna let you guys pick what trading strategies my money is invested in so we're going to be doing that a little bit later on. Why is AMC putting out earnings a week earlier maybe has something to do with the vote? I Don't know I haven't read about it? Uh, it's up how much? 26 Cents Right now it's not really doing anything. it basically is just at where it was last week. I Don't know.
Uh I'm did they does Matt have two? T's Yep, M-a-t-t Hey, it's all. All the information is pinned to the top of chat. it's in the description of the video. If you have questions, feel free to ask chaos and Roswell Uh, feel free to ask me.
Uh, but I'm just getting started myself with it. Um I had the money hit the account I haven't done any Investments yet because I wanted you guys to pick my investments for me and then I figured it'd be like kind of an interesting thing to watch and pay attention to see which strategies over perform. Which ones are like better than the other ones. Uh, I think they have four or five right now I have them all up.
We could go over the strategies. I'll give you a brief description of each one. One is a bond strategy, one is a government Us contract one. So like the people who are investing in companies that are also on the communities of giving out those contracts, there's an earnings one.
Uh, there's a U.S Congress and a U.S house one. and then they're rolling out with an inverse CNBC in inverse Jim Cramer They have a lot coming, but I believe there's four or five live right now and then. obviously as the year continues, they're gonna have more strategies and that's just if you want. If you don't want to do that, you also have.
It's just also a normal brokerage. Uh, it's commission free. There's no payment for order flow. Um, if you want to check it out I implore you to always do your own due diligence, but they are registered with the SEC and the broker dealer is registered with Finrum.
so it goes through all that. All right. Dingety ding ding ding ding ding ding ding. The casino is open.
Best of luck to all. Uh, play responsibly if not, have fun. Spy under 400 today. Uh, I'm bearish on spy I Don't know if I necessarily wanted to go below 400 today because I think I sold some credit spreads I didn't even open my thinkorswim I need to see all that premium that I sold.
So basically for myself and my own active trades, I'm not talking about investments, just my own active trades. I've been selling a bunch of Premium and that's actually why I want to switch it from Thinkorswim over to Weeble because I just found out on Weeble you don't pay any commissions for their verticals and I've been selling a bunch of verticals. So that's some of my active trading. and then my other active training has actually just been my Futures robot account. Um, so we're now on to version three of the robot. I on Friday If you guys were here, you saw that there was a little bit of some bugs going down. Um, it still ended up being profitable on Friday on Friday I think it made around 65. The Futures Market was open yesterday.
the stock market was closed, but the Futures Market was open and it did not do well. I think it lost like eighty dollars yesterday. So now it's a little bit negative, but I did wanna Where are we at on the day? Has it traded at all today? Yeah, it's fired a couple trades. It's actually looking to make another trade pretty soon here so we'll see how this all goes.
Uh, time frame one minute? all right. I Just want to make sure everything is good in the robot. Yes, the robot is alive. it's awake.
Um so between yesterday and what it's done this morning as of now it's down 71. So it made 60 65 on Friday and then with yesterday and this morning like it was down 1 30 and then it fought its way back. So now it's down 71 and then when you take that account with into account with Friday it's slightly down. uh and we're I think I fixed the code of what I needed it to do and you'll hear it.
This is um I I Noticed my biggest issue with it was I had the strategy and it was firing off the indicator of when I was supposed to trade. but sometimes when you're doing interviews or when I'm chatting with you and we're having good conversation and yada yada yada. Um, it's easy to miss some of that stuff. It's definitely easy to miss some of it.
So I decided to just sack up and make it fully fully automated. So it's 100 automated. The entries, the exits unless something goes awry. I'm not involved in it at all I just watch it and hope that it makes me money can't hear you Matt Alexander I think that might be your computer I think other people can hear me? Give it a quick refresh if you are having a problem.
how do you think Nvidia earnings will go I mean crypto's been popping lately AI has been popping lately and the data center numbers aren't the best, but they're also not the worst. So I don't know I want to be optimistic on it and like I don't want to let Home Depot where Walmart really like sway my opinion. but if I wanted to I could just invest in the earnings call thing on street today and then probably take advantage of it. So one of Street beats strategies is they have I believe in order field.
Uh, the robot. Just the robot just did what. the robot just went long. The robot went long at 52.25 and it is looking to take profit at 54.50 It's looking to take profit at 54.50 up here 54.50 and it went long at 52.25 If you guys can see that, let's see what it does or it'll get stopped out. If it pulls back to 51, it would get stopped out. Oh well, we'll see how that one plays out, but once again, that's another robot I Don't know. Recently I've just been so fixated on this concept because that's really where my trading career first took off was in the world of algorithmic trading. That's where I really first started to get some success.
and then if you look at my earliest YouTube videos, that's what it was about. And then with the whole Rona period and everything, people wanted more introductory stuff and now I feel like I'm almost gravitating back to, um, just order filled it pulled out there, it got stopped out for like five bucks or whatever. Um, so anywho, I don't know I've just found myself mentally gravitating even more to algorithmic trading lately. and I don't have any systems for earnings call predictions, but that's exactly what Street Beat has.
Street Beat has it. Um, so that's one of them. Uh, can you use Shreepy in the UK I Believe. So I know they're in Europe You'd have to check.
um I Obviously know it's here in the US but on Street Beat does it say where they're located? Streepy? They don't have a web app yet. it is coming out in the future quarters, but they have a beautiful phone app. It's so awesome you gotta check it out for yourself. It's pinned to the top of chat, it's in the description of the video.
Um, but if I Here's the earnings call strategy. Uh, shriepie. Earnings call strategy blah blah blah how it works Street Be Earnings Call strategy uses consumer behavior and Market data to monitor 2 000 companies behavioral data sets include credit and debit card transactions, geolocation, social sentiment, and mobile app usage Market Data sets include real-time Market data historical company data and corporate filings and disclosures. Intelligent Trading uses algorithmic AI to monitor data signals to protect buy and sell decisions based on expected value relative to their current price.
So basically it takes in a crap load of data and it pipes it into either AI or machine learning or something and it has its own predictions on if a company is going to be or not. This is all in street beat. I Myself have not come up with a good strategy to date of like I'm pretty much 50 50 in my own earnings calling. but if you look at the performance here historically, it actually does really really well.
Uh, where are we? Um, so the Blue Line the Top Line This is them relative to the S P 500. Uh, clearly it is outperforming the S P 500. So maybe I'll put a little bit of money into that just because we have some more earnings. I Just I'm worried that if I put money into it for this week, is it just gonna sit there for then, like 10 weeks until the next earnings thing? Um, I don't know. it's going to be up to you guys. Uh, because so they have an earnings one. They have a top government contract recipient strategy, so they're just looking at the companies that get a lot of money. uh, from the government and that one's actually been doing pretty well as well.
Right right there? Uh, recently it's been doing well. Uh, you have the bond one, so let's see how this one's been doing. Bon bon bon bon bon bomb. Uh, there's still outperforming BND Then they have U.S House buys.
Uh, so obviously more of Congress and whatnot. That's how this one looks. And then you have Congress buys as well and let's see how that strategy looks. So as of now they have one, two, three, four.
They have five that are live and they have a handful of other ones that are coming down the pipeline. Uh, we can read these and come back and study them in a little bit more detail after the market open volatility burns out. I Just want to let you guys know in case you're in the middle of signing up right now. All right.
Cool. We did that, We did that, we did that, we did that and we are coming down. Good thing that got out. Uh, did you hear AMC's being investigated by the SEC about Ape? No, not at all.
Where did you get that? uh where where did you guys get that? Did anyone else hear that I Feel like that would have like blown up my phone if they were being investigated I Personally think that some of the actions I don't think what they did is illegal. Uh, if you read the SEC filings, they were very very clear about all of this. I think what they did was immoral but I don't think it was illegal like I don't think the SEC is gonna find anything I Truly don't. Um, there's a big big difference between illegal and immoral and I think a lot of people were duped into the play I think a lot of people were tricked into the play and that's just what it is like.
But if you read the Sac filings, they made it very, very clear the entire time that their intent was to dilute QQQ filled the Gap The upside: Gap Uh, where's the Spy Gap to in case any of you guys played it? uh, spygap up to 404.05 and then it looks like the Q Gap got filled. The low was 298.10 and the high was 298.19 Good Call out. the Q's got their Gap fill and the Spy might be on its way I don't know. it was pumping a little bit there then got smacked.
It looks like its decision but Tesla unfortunately looking good I say I'm fortunate because I have puts on Tesla right now. that's my only directional bet. Other than that, I just sold a bunch of Premium Home Depot vomiting. They had not the best earnings Walmart trying to recover good intraday session but it's still down one percent AMC went from 545 up to 580 coming back down.
uh, it's up 42 cents. It's up eight percent which is good. Uh, and it might be on the news I didn't even know that they moved their earnings. uh I truly didn't know? Uh, what do we have here to do? Biden is speaking today Uh, anyone know the story of Trey what happened? He just quit. He couldn't Um, he didn't want to handle uh I Guess the criticism is probably the best way to put it. Quit. Quit. quit.
That's I mean it's unfortunately what happens when uh so Trey was one of them. We have people just um and the way reason I say Trey I think Trey's done good things and I think he's been in certain ways beneficial to the community. But then there's other things that are just like dumb. like if you go to his Twitter uh, his pin tweet is still I guarantee it's going higher.
You can't say like it's like mark my words like the high is not put in. You don't know that the high might be put in. No one can tell you the future. It's so silly to try to like say that type of stuff.
Um, and I think it's incredibly inappropriate when you have a large following. It's the same thing like recently over the past two weeks. The big thing was that AMC's squeezing to 140. it was two weeks ago, then they kicked the can to last week and obviously it didn't happen like there's too much hopium in copium and like, at a certain point, it is frustrating to even like have to keep addressing it.
and I find it particularly frustrating because I know there's people who are maybe newer to the world of retail training, investing in the Eight movement who are being fed bad information and it'll most likely lead to them losing money. And if they lose money when they first join, they're gonna say hey, the Market's a sham I hate it and I'm never going to be in the market again. And that is particularly frustrating to me because I truly believe in the bottom of my heart. No thing has ever.
There's been nothing ever made invented by men better than Wall. Street better than the markets that would improve your upward. Financial Mobility If if you want to talk about generating money generating wealth, it is called investing. That's how you make money.
I think Trey has messed up from whatever he does in the military. he worked in an office. What do you mean messed up? He was an office worker in like the middle of the U.S Facebook now charging 12 for accounts. oh isn't that just to um, not for account like that's for like verification right? Uh, is the market but it is I'm in the market but the Sham it depends I I Don't think investing is a sham I I Really really don't I think like trying to chase Pump and Dumps is a sham I Think there's a lot of individual companies that lie.
but if you're saying generically should you invest in the overall Market with your like retirement account and that type of stuff, there's been no 20-year period in the history of the market. You could pick any day that if you fast forward 20 years you would be down money there that does not exist. So if we're talking about Upward Financial Mobility The Market's a good place to be. Market is a good good place to be. There's definitely Shenanigans I Wouldn't say it's perfect at all. Uh, there's definitely things about the market that could be and should be improved. but that doesn't mean it's bad. Just because something could be improved doesn't mean it's all completely bad.
There's certain things that I just don't like or don't understand. payment for order flow. We should get rid of that pattern day trading. We should get rid of that.
Uh, the fact that shorts are not reported in the 13 F G and D reports that what's going on there. The fact that it takes us forever to get short reports to get FTD reports like what's that doesn't make sense, The fact that there's no other additional data surrounding FTD reports such as like who did it, how did they fix it That's crazy I Could sit here and list 20 different things that would help improve the market, but just because there's just because we identify things that could be improved, doesn't mean that it's not bad. Uh, what's Facebook Is it like Myspace I Want Myspace to come back? replace Adam Aaron with a good CEO Uh, it depends on who you're asking if he's good or not. For example, if you ask Adam Aaron's bank account, his bank account would agree that he would be an amazing CEO Um, if you ask his children who he gifted like what millions of shares, they would also agree he's a good CEO If you ask the board and the leadership team of AMC who has done nothing but sell their AMC and ape at every single turn that they could, they would think he's good because they made a shitload of money.
If you asked mudrick, they made a shitload of money. They would think he's good if you ask Anterra. Well, they made a shitload of money so they would think Daddy's good. It just depends on who you ask.
if you ask retail, the average person who saved the company um, the only people who would be supportive are just kind of shills and stupid people who don't understand the situation but the suits involved. They love it. They love what's going on. Uh, the dollars just gapped up.
Wait, what's going on with the dollar dollar pop? Not good for the market? It's because of that PMI report or what was it? There was a 945 report that just came out 9 45 9, 45 9 45 Yeah. The PMI PMI PMI Let me see if I could get those numbers for you. Uh I know I can uh uh, where are we at? Hang on, where are they Canada's CPI came in at 5.9 versus 6.1 estimate. So inflation in Canada is cooling down.
Uh, I'm not finding these PMI numbers. Hang on. Maybe Zero Hedge has them. Uh, definitely getting a little funky.
The Dollar's getting some strength that's not so good for the market. Uh PMI 87.8 The expectation was 87.2 Services PMI 50.2 and the expectation was 47.2 So the PMI numbers both came in higher than expected. Market Not liking it. Dollar getting some strength. as the dollar gets stronger, the market will get weaker I need to check in on my positions. Uh uh. um okay. the Cues March 3rd Isil Ice.
Oh wait, you guys can't see this. Uh so the Cues I only have one position as of now March 3rd 315 by 316 I just need it below 315 I Sold a call Credit spread or it is a call Credit spread. Um, as of now though, it's up nicely. It is up 30 bucks.
Uh, as you can see with the Spy I have a lot going on. so what do we have Feb 26 Second, what is that is that tomorrow? What was I doing? Um well. I sold the 218 by 219. that's up good money I sold a 401 by a 402 Who I need this above 402 What was I thinking that was? that was something? Uh, so that one's currently down.
we're a little bit too close. that's for tomorrow I needed Why did I make that trade? um but then marked below 425 and uh later in March the end of March below 432 that one's crushing Tesla I need it below What do I need to blow I needed it below 215 by March 17th and I need it below 235 by March 3rd and then I also have some directional bets. This is my only current directional bet like in terms of active trades is a March 17th 175 put on Tesla I have two of them and they are currently down like seven hundred dollars. So besides that, like if I just didn't have my one directional Tesla bet which is down 700 I would currently be up with all the premium that I'm selling and I will be selling more premium today for sure.
Um I def ooh actually I should do that now. Uh, let's do it. Trade. Uh, let's do it on the queues.
the cues. When when does this week end? This week ends the 24th 24th single. Uh I'm gonna sell some Q premium. Do I really think what does everyone will? the queues be below 305 .
305 Maybe I should look out next week the 24th, the 3rd March 3rd, March 3rd. What is the 20th? I'm looking for some 20 Delta Uh, 309. Dude, that's easy. That's easy money, easy money.
Sign me up for that. What is my buying power right now? Do I have the buying power for this? Oh yeah. okay. I threw out an order I'm trying to sell um, some premium against the queues.
Has my robot traded? We had one losing trade. No, it only did one trade, got stopped out a little early. If it was a bit more aggressive, it could have held in there. Uh, but the robot is just waiting.
It looks like the next trade probably won't be until like 10 15, 10 30 if I had to guess just so. now to guess. Uh but Tesla's coming down. that's good for me.
What am I doing right now? Why did this not fill? March 3rd Why did I not get my fill quarters spread cancel replace. Okay I upped it instead of selling two of those spreads I'm going to five but the order hasn't filled yet. Uh, just trying to get the film SO waiting on that Uh Tesla it moved until about 9 41 and then the 945 report this. PMI report is starting to smack things uh oh I need things above 402. should I just dump that one where is? I'm worried about that spy 402 by 401. the queues got sold that Ding that you just heard I sold. Um what was it for March 3rd the 309. The 309 by the three tens is what I just sold.
So as long as it's below 309 I Get all that money, create closing order. uh I think I'm gonna have to take a hit on this one. How bad is the Spy coming down Dude, that's not looking good I think I'm gonna have to roll out of this position. mm-hmm crap.
All right I'm putting in an order that that put credit spread I'm trying to get out at 35 cents. It's just we're getting way too close. It is what it is. Uh Matt uh AMC Adam Aaron Breach Rule 312 of the New York Stock Exchange that's what the problem is but mean Street MMA where are you seeing that? Like is this coming from a credible Source Like is news reporting on it or like are you finding it on Twitter It very well could be true I'm not saying it is or it isn't I'm just one.
Like: could you send me the information of where you're seeing this? Uh, this rule is no longer applicable Incorporated New York Stock Exchange Rules have been uh, superseded by temporary dual thinner New York Stock Exchange Member rules AMC About to go parabolic? Um, that's just a dumb thing to say. You might want it to go parabolic, but there's no way you could be like oh, I know it's going to uh, people who are hardcore aims. they are unbearable. Yeah, uh I I feel like I get attacked a lot from being like, well how would you change? It's just like, well, the whole environment changed the whole, the economic situation changed the rules change.
Like to think that the situation is the same as it has been is just crazy because it's not at all. There's a lot that's different. Uh, cancel. replace what's this trading at right now I'm trying to dump that spy Okay I got out I got out at 38 cents I forget what I bought it for probably 18.
so I probably lost like 10 or 15 bucks on that one. But the call the call side of it because I did a uh iron Condor I did a call Credit spread and a put credit spread I just had to dump the credit spread for loss because it was spread 402 by 401 and we're just getting too close. Um but the call Credit spread I'm going to get 100 of the profit from that. um uh yet Obv says people aren't sick of AMC uh I don't even think you know what Obv is, are a hundred percent of people sick with AMC Obviously not.
But look at the price. If you're saying that Obv ious like you don't even know what Obv is, you don't know how it's calculated. Can you get an Obv explanation? Obv is very, very simple For whatever time frame you're on, it's a running cumulative total. If the bar you're trading on is green, the volume for that bar is added if the volume. If if the bar is red. if the close is less than the open, that is subtracted from the running total. So a green bar, you add the volume. So let's just say let's trade whatever.
For the ease of math, you you trade 5 10, 15 and it goes Green Green Red Five. Okay, you go from zero to five and then you add 10 because that's the next part. Because in this example I said 5 10 15. So then you're at 15 if the next bar is red, which let's just say for this example it is.
it goes Green Green red. If the next one has a volume of 15, you subtract it. so you go 5. Plus 10 is 15 minus 15.
it's just a running total. You you add the volume of green bars and you subtract the volume of red bars. That's all it is that. I I Don't think people are trying to act as if that's like the gospel of the situation.
Um, and it's It's just another tool. Well, I Like Obv, but if you're basing trades in your thesis exclusively on Obv, we're gonna get blown out. And of course it's going to be elevated because of the volume traded on days where it goes. Haywire like I think we traded over a billion shares the day it ran 94 back in June So because it's a green day, you add all of the volume, you add all that volume up and then from there the green days are still added and the red days are subtracted if you're on the daily chart.
Filed yesterday: Adam Aaron and AMC board sued by: Allegheny County Employee Retirement System What? uh news? I can you send that to me on Twitter mean tree MMA I can't seem to find it? uh uh. Lawsuit, claims and mergers? Yeah, I can't find it. The lawsuit? yeah, send it to me on Twitter or something. Uh and then we can bring it up.
uh, spy is starting to crack I think like I said when before today started trading today. My bias is definitely a bearish one. Oh I Need Tesla to come down I need it to come down fast I need it to come down fast. We did that.
We did that. There was a Hogwarts stream. Yeah, so I don't know why, but a lot of people didn't get the notification. uh, yesterday because the market was closed I dressed up like a Slytherin and we started playing that Hogwarts game and I'm not far enough in the game where you can kill as many people as you want uh, or really any.
but we're getting there. but for some reason it was uh, like almost everyone told me, th
The law suit is by Allegheny county employees pension. That pension is handled by Artemis hedge fund. What is Artemis hedge fundβs position on AMC?
