Thank you Foreign Foreign. Thank you Oh Brother! Um brother oh brother oh brother. It is Inflation Day Happy inflation Day To all those of you who celebrate, we are going to be getting some information from the powers above to tell us about the current personal consumption expenditure report in a mere 10 minutes. This is going to cause the Stomp Market to go wild.
This is what we're going to be streaming today. I Have a little bit of a short stream for you, but uh, happy to get into all of it. I'm very very happy actually getting all to it. so I Hope everyone's having a fantastic morning I Hope everyone had a fantastic evening.
I'm getting ready I'm getting ready. Here's the Spy right now trading at 403.50 We've already had a little bit of craziness this morning. Um, kind of some whipsaw up down. Not as good as we were looking at the clothes yesterday, but that's because we had a pretty solid push into close yesterday.
Oh brother oh brother oh brother. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning if you haven't already, since we're doing something a little bit funky, a little bit different.
If you guys could help me out just to let the world know that we are doing a little something different, hit that like button. Hit that subscribe button. Uh, especially the like button early this morning just to let people know that we're kind of doing something. Especially because in a mere nine minutes now, we're gonna be hearing from everyone.
But before that happens, let's see if I can rip through some of these important things that should better prep you for the day ahead. S P 500 Futures trade Slightly lower, but the index is headed for a winning week. It certainly is if you look at the daily chart here. we've had a trendline test it got rejected and then we've had a nice push to the upside and things are cooking.
Yes, we've had to do some Gap fill plays, but um, intraday there's been some hecticness. But if you're looking at the daily chart, we have just five beautiful green days. Four beautiful green days. Maybe putting it in the sixth one here.
We're pulling back a little bit early in pre-market hey, but that's oh hey. Okay, just waiting to see what this inflation report is. But this trend line that we're above right now. that's a massive breakout.
We're talking about the trendline breakout that was created in January of 2022 and we kind of adhere to it the entire time. So the fifth test was the charm and we broke out. We're currently holding let's see what happens. We broke out, we had a pullback, it continued to push.
Today is going to be a big decision day. Also, on top of next week, on Wednesday of next week we have that Fomc meeting. So thus far things are a little bit muted because everyone's just waiting for the inflation report to come out. As of now, the Dow, the S P, and the NASDAQ are all slightly red.
Oil's still holding strong at 82. I Want to talk a little bit about oil just because it's been looking so good? and I'm so very happy with my oxy. But look at this oil breakout. we went up. we pulled back. it looks like oil is about to rip it. Really like I mean I Don't know how to make this more clear like this is the daily chart on crude oil we sold off. We went up lower highs, higher lows.
we broke out. We came back, we retested, uh, another higher low, some consolidation. This thing looks like it's about to rip faces. Uh, very excited to see what's about to go down with oil.
Um, if you went long on oil if you're playing crude or I don't know, even the smaller like you don't even have to risk that much. I mean this looks like a beautiful, beautiful setup, so we're going to be seeing what plays out there. but as of now, things a little bit quiet. Five things to know before that Bell goes ding ding ding ding in an hour.
But obviously the most important thing really is what's about to happen in a few minutes on a roll. Finally we're putting in a nice green week and it looks like especially we'll see how Friday ends up playing out. But overall the Bulls have been winning. Clearly the Bulls have been winning bad times for Intel Intel Uh, kind of brooder Brutal Quarterly Earnings Reports We're going to be talking about that.
Not exactly exactly Child's Play this is about Hasbro I mean if you want to see what's going on with their company, their earnings, dungeon, dragons, fights going on with magic, the Gathering some crazy stuff there don't want to get too much into it just because I don't think many people in here are actively trading it Bed Bath and Beyond default Bed Bath and Beyond is heading for Reckoning The struggling Home Goods retailer said Thursday it had defaulted on a credit line with JP Morgan and warned that it lacks the cash to pay down its debts. This is making a B Line Bed Bath and Beyond is making a B line to bankruptcy uh I thought I made a funny joke about it and people got kind of butt hurt. I said bed Bath and gone and then there were people still trying to defend it and I I don't understand why because they're simply just not reading the writing on the wall like this is. this is gonna be how it's a pump and dump.
This is one and I know people want to be sick of fans for Ryan Cohen We see a similar like mindset almost with Adam Aaron they're suits folks. These people are all disgusting. Suits focus on lining their own Pockets if you're still in bed Bath and beyond I'm sorry you lost that one. but we also there's been many, many warning signals that you should have pulled the rip cord.
So uh, if you lost on this I I feel for you. It sucks to lose on any of this. It's your hard-earned money. Uh, but don't let it be a complete loss like take the lesson.
Moving forward, Zielinski seeks more sanctions. Of course he does. So let's talk about Bed Bath And Gone Bed Bath And Beyond defaults on credit line warns that can't pay down on that. This is why I Created yesterday will most likely end up continuing to Crater Now that doesn't mean everything every single day is going to be a red brutal day. like obviously we've seen weird pops with bankruptcy before, the most recent major one being Revlon There could still be craziness to it, but as an investment I Personally believe this one is done, so that's my own opinion. Uh, you might have yours I'm just letting you know where I'm at on it Bed Bath and Beyond said yesterday Thursday It doesn't have enough cash to pay down its debts. The company said it had defaulted on its credit line with JP Morganing warning once again of potential bankruptcy. The update comes several weeks after the retailer issued a bankruptcy warning.
I mean I I Don't know what else I can show to you in terms of like hardcore evidence that this play is just absolutely at this point. On top of all the earnings and or excuse me, on top of all the macroeconomic reports, we also have a bunch of earnings. So I want to talk a little bit about Intel because they came out after the market closed and then a little bit about what's going on with oil because it's actually looking pretty good. So we are in earnings season.
Last week was kind of the start of it. This week was the first big week and then the next two weeks are still pretty big weeks. just so everyone knows. Intel's horrible quarter revealed an inventory glut and underused factories.
Intel's December earnings showed a significant decline in the company sales profit gross margin Outlook both for the quarter and the full year inshore. Intel had a difficult 2022 in 2023 is shaping up to be tough as well. So with all that being said, I'm still very bullish on semiconductors Intel has just never been the leader of the pack, so you could be tracking the whole semiconductor. I Guess fear all of those you could be looking at Nvidia AMD Micron Intel You could look at the ETF SMH that is, these are all referred to as semiconductors.
They're just the processing chips that are massively important to almost all aspects of our life. But anyway, Uh, I Want you to know that Intel It's in that group. Of course it's in that group. But ever since it had its very public breakup with Apple, Apple used to make the processing chips for or excuse me Intel used to make the processing chips for Apple and about two years ago they had a very public breakup as Apple brought all of that in-house and ever since then we see that Intel doesn't have the strongest business model and we're seeing that in the numbers.
Uh, I'm still a little bit biased towards Nvidia because I would say that they are The Golden Child they have like the golden product but then also if you look at the fundamentals of which trading cheapest like in terms of valuation, AMD is looking pretty interesting. so I just wanted to throw that out there. but those are my two favorites with Nvidia having a little bit of an edge I Want to talk about oil? Big Oil pose to smash annual profit records sparking outcry from campaigners and activists. Boohoo! I Want to know how much money I'm making and I'm hoping Oxy does well Chevron itself, which is a competitor but also very similar, is crushing it. Chevron Annual profit doubles to record 36.5 billion but misses on estimates but I mean I mean look at that doubles profit doubles to 36.5 billion I mean right now, this isn't really a big statement from me on the environment or anything like that. I'm looking at a whale. it's Supply Demand supplies down. Demand seems to be going up I expect oil to pop.
it's chilling at 82. We know that the downside risk is at 70 because that's where the U.S government's going to end up stepping in. So to me, the risk reward is favorable. and that's exactly why I have a medium-term swing trade still going on oxy.
Uh, I'm in right below 68 and I'm just looking for this to pop to 75, 80, 90, 95, 100 and then I'll probably get out of the position sometime like in mid 2023 So just wanted to put that all out there. And with that being said, let's get to the one minute and then also, let's get up. Rick Santelli Uh, let's get this going. Do watch in the app.
All right, the volume's good. let's get going. They are currently on a break, but the Pce the personal consumption expenditure price index is about to drop. It is an inflation report.
It's like the CPI report. it's a little bit more Broad in terms of the information it takes in and it's also a little bit more timely. It's not as backwards looking, but I am waiting for CNBC to get fired up. It is 8 30 now and we're already seeing Crazy Whipsaw.
Crazy Whip Song Welcome back to Squat Box this morning! Uh, right here on CBC Rick Santelli Standing by at the CME in Chicago Let's go, Let's go. Let's go post your votes below. Are you red or green? Bullish or bearish on the day? Yeah. Personal income and Spending for the month of December.
And of course, we all understand that some of the Fed's favorite metrics regarding pricing are embedded in this report. Let's start out with the headline: shall we? Personal Income expecting to rise by two tenths of one percent delivered exactly two tenths of one percent in line. Do keep in mind, in October it was up seven tenths. So two tenths is a great number.
but it's still the lightest number since January of 22 and it was minus 110.. Now if we look at the spending side also exactly as expected, which was minus two tenths of one percent. minus two tenths. One percent is the lightest number.
It equals December 21. you have to go all the way back to February of 21 to find a bigger negative number that isn't good. And if we look at real spending, of course, is it just for inflation, it's down three tenths. Here we go into the Money numbers: personal consumption expenditure deflator month over month is up one tenth, up one tenth of a percent. and the that's that's about. uh, what we're expecting. and arguably you could say it's a little hotter we're expecting on change. That equals the rear view mirror.
The last time we had a lower number was down 110, but that was already in July And in between then and now we're up four tenths last month, but that was revised so only up one tenth. and now, we look at the big year over year number five percent. The deflator year over year is five percent. as expected.
And this is good news. 5.5 in the rear view mirror. To find a number on a percentage change, year over year, smaller than five percent, you're going all the way back to September of 21. that's very good news on the court inflator: month over month, Three tenths Exactly as expected.
We're following a two-tenths number. Uh, the high water mark There was all the way back in April of 21 when it was up six tenths. So we've made some real progress there. And the last, maybe the most important personal consumption core.
Deflator year over year delivers at 4.4 percent, which was expectations exactly. And the rear view mirror was 4.7 The high water mark there was 5.4 percent in February of 24.. the last time everything seems to be in line smaller than 4.4 percent, you have to go back to October of 21.. Now, let the market speak for themselves.
Andrew If you put up a 10-year note: yield chart, we're at 354. Before the data, we're at 353 now. Big whoops, right? One basis point, but one basis point here is very important. It gives us a notion that the market isn't nervous about this number in any way.
We can always see inflation lower. It's still too high historically, but we've made significant progress and that's what the Market's going to pay attention to. Back to you: Rick Thank you. Very much want to get over it.
Pretty much no massive surprises. What do you think? I think they're pretty good numbers Andrew Um, I'm looking at the inflation data inside and what I see is a 0.7 percent decline on Goods inflation. However, the unfortunate part is the thing that Powell looks at or at least a proxy for it because we can't calculate it right away, which is Services inflation was still up zero five compared to 0.3 percent in the prior month. core inflation Rick is right up 0.3 percent.
Look, income is uh, is doing okay 0.4 and uh, it's the spending. We had a contest Here Andrew We had uh, um, a split decision between a strong October and a lousy November and December kind of confirms what I wanted to see was the Uh impact on Services versus good spending overall. Uh, it's going to take me one second to look at that, but that's been an issue whether or not this declining good spending has shown up in the service sector. and I've got to run the table. Uh, which table is it Table Six here or table seven to look at it? Um, yeah, Service inflation did. it looks about flat actually? Hey, sorry Service uh. spending looks about flat this month. I'll come back for consumers, we'll see.
Uh Andrew You did have something of a rebound in the pretty much everything Hit expectations in the savings rate. so you had a big decline in the in the rate of savings. People had a lot of money. Uh, stocked up now it looks like and they draw that down.
Now it's like they're building the back up. That's going to be a key I think to getting to a more stable, uh, economic footing here. was getting that savings rate back up to a better place. Very good Steve thank you for that analysis of course.
Have a great weekend my friend and coming up. Maybe touch on all these things. Former Dallas Fed President Richard Fisher helps us break down Pce inflation data and the Fed's next move. Stay tuned.
You're watching squawkbox on CNBC you're watching Squawk Box on CNBC Uh, we can actually find some other interesting things that they put out when there's no sense for us to sit there through a commercial. Uh, but what you need to know is that I apparently don't squawk. What a weird word. Hang on I Want to find? uh, they brought on someone that I think had an interesting discussion this morning I Guess maybe they haven't clipped it yet happening now? So Intel completeness on theirs.
but I don't know if that's going to be particularly indicative of this semiconductor industry. Uh, whoa, Wait, what is this? We have a Gary Gensler thing. What's what's Gary What's Her boy Gary Gensler Up to what's Our boy Gary Gensler Up to these days, Shane Right now is an emerging technology. There are Industries uh all over our country that are looking at how can blockchain or a distributed Ledger be useful in their business to cut down on agency costs.
and those don't always have to be completely disruptive. They might be more gradual as that Innovation takes place. I mean right now for example I Love the comment the other day where somebody said a a transaction using Bitcoin takes long. So long my coffee is cold.
So this is not right now a technology that's ready for prime time in a real-time payments industry. But we want to make sure that America is the place for Innovation and blockchain and distributed Ledger technology is part of that fintech future. Well, it has real consequences to to not have a a framework in place. And you know I'm not saying that SB that Sam Bankman free didn't bring it on himself, but we certainly enabled some of that um to be offshore and I mean there, it's going to help.
It's going to help the industry and it's going to help the technology if Congress could get its act together. Do you think there should be a spot? Bitcoin Um, fund is that's not going anywhere now either? Yeah, so that's what we want to explore with this Digital Assets Committee. I Think you'll see us look at a property privacy I Think you'll see us consider a stable coin bill that we made progress on in the last congress with work from our leader Patrick McHenry on the committee and then chair Maxine Waters I Think you'll see us explore what are the ramifications for the Securities market and work with the agriculture Committee In the House and Senate on the commodity aspect of it trading, uh, the coins and running, uh, how should the exchanges be overseen? All that's on the table and all that's going to be a priority for this year. You think it's going to be this year and you think it can be bipartisan When it's all said and done, that would take a uh I don't know that we're not there right now. Hey, I'm special. That's a That's definitely a creepy laugh. Okay, so right now Tesla's still looking good. Bed bath is pretty much done.
Speaking of things, that might be done, let's take a look at Gns. Where is it at? uh, Gns? Oh Dunzo I mean Gns As soon as it cracked below four dollars, as soon as it cracked below 392, you had that eight Cent region to pull the rip cord. If you're in it I mean I don't know what you're looking for. you're just a bag holder.
At this point, backholders sometimes get paid I'm not saying you're like completely done, but you don't really have a reason to be in it. As soon as it broke below the previous two lows, looks like it's going to be making a B line to 275. After that, you have 225. After that, you actually have a reach Target of 62 cents there.
I Just don't see the the short-term bull trade on Gns at this moment in time I Know some people are jacked up about Mullen Um, it pumped. Uh, you wanted to get in here. you were in at 37. it cracked again.
you could have wrote it all the way down showing a little bit of strength. it got above 32. but I think this is just going to continue to put in lower highs and continue to get cracked. Um, if this goes below 28, that is your umpteenth warning shot that like still get the hell out of it so just want to throw those out there because I know there's some interest we'll was Chevron Cvxia CVX having a pretty solid I mean yeah, it's Chevron just ripped I'm not playing Chevron I am playing oxy but I am bullish on the petroleum image industry right now I Know natural gas is taking a big hit and if you're feeling like being attempting to catch a falling knife I do wish you the best of luck with that one.
uh I myself am not gonna catch the falling knife on natural gas I'd wait for someone else to attempt to do it I Want to see where the buyers line up but in terms of oil I just don't see much risk in the scenario. I Mean look at this. lower highs, higher lows, it breaks out. It retests, it consolidates higher low and it looks like it's about to rip. I Mean right now, if you're looking for a decent swing trade, the risk reward on oil is amazing. I Mean if you wanted to be very conservative, you could risk about three dollars, two dollars a barrel, something like that, basically down to 79 and a half. And if this breaks out, your first Target is going to be 83 because that means it's out of this wedge. From there, it's most likely going to start ripping to 85 five and then after that which would be like my minimum.
Target We're talking about 90 a barrel. The risk reward is so favorable on petroleum right now. not much risk. Decent upside reward I Don't know if it's going to play out obviously I want it to play out by going to the upside, but if we just look at certain risks, certain reward.
Looking at the technicals, looking at the supply, the demand, the political situation. I Like him I did get a rumble rant over here asking about um I guess the Middle East running out of oil? uh I don't quite know where you're getting that from because they right here running out of oil and switching to tourism I Mean they're not going to run out of oil. They're like they have some of the best oil supplies in the entire world. and right now they're going to be controlling Supply almost fictitiously just based on like they get to control Supply Either jacking it up or bringing it down Um I am bullish on oil is the best thing I could say.
and how will it affect the U.S oil industry? Well, for the U.S oil industry, one of the major things to pay attention to right now is the Strategic petroleum Reserve which the current Administration has really really dipped into as a political tool to try to bring gas prices down. essentially. Um, so the Spr, the Strategic petroleum Reserve Um, it has just done nothing but take a like a nosedive off of a cliff. So that's actually coming back to why I Think the prices will go higher because the Spr has been so depleted that we know the US government is interested in getting more oil.
Which means that they're going to be the buyer. Which means that our risk is essentially at 70 a barrel because that's where they're going to step in and buy themselves. So I like in terms of price I See it going up I I Understand some of the arguments of why it might come down I Just think it's uh, highly unlikely is the best way to put it. highly unlikely.
But that's my thoughts so we'll see how it ends up playing out. So what you need to know Is we got the personal consumption expenditure report. Let me reload this to just show you the numbers. Pretty much everything was in line, We didn't really have surprises.
To the upside, we didn't really have surprises. To the downside, here are all the numbers right here: 0.3 4.4 It's what we expected. What I do want to call out to you is a half hour into the trading day. Today we do have other economic reports we're going to get out of the University of Michigan the consumer sentiment update one year and five-year inflation expectations and then also we're getting pending home sales. So a little bit of an update from the world of real estate. So that's all at 10 Am. But we already got a whole host of reports at 8 30 and as you can see thus far people are kind of liking it. I mean we saw in 829 pop? as if someone already knew the information, then it got quickly dropped and then it ripped.
and now we're just chilling just below 404 which is pretty close to where we closed out yesterday. Actually, no, we had a big pop into the end of the day 404.75 but overall, wind it out, zoom out type of a scenario. We've been on a nice roof ever since Friday The 6th we ripped, we pulled back, we ripped Again, we pulled back at the trend line test and now we're continuing to push I mean higher highs, higher lows the trend for the month of January It's kind of undeniable. We are clearly trending to the upside: how long will this last? Your guess is as good as mine.
You play the trend as long as it is intact. It almost broke down right here. Uh, we had that major trend line from January of 2022 got smacked, there came down. but then the Bulls ripped it back up.
We're very much in an environment where whenever there's a smack in the market, it seems like there are quite a few Bulls throwing money to keep the party going to the upside. Uh, we're seeing quite a bit of buying recently that's also been represented in the options Market When we're seeing like a big amounts of calls coming in on a relevant relative basis to puts, especially in the money that they're sending in, that's the current. Trend Once again, I'm not here really to predict how long it's going to last I Don't think anybody could actually like real, reasonably predict that. but I Do think that a strong methodology and really, where the big money's made is riding the trend.
As long as the trend is intact, your goal is to get the meat of the move. So if there's a x percentage move and you're capturing 60, 70, 80 percent of that move, that's how you make money. Don't focus on bottom ticking, Don't focus on top ticking you. you try to get in early on the trend and ride it as long as you believe that the trend is intact.
So with everything being said right now, we're seeing some some bullishness in the market in pre-market but like not a crazy amount. Uh, actually it's kind of muted just because there was no surprise. Uh, the big surprise that we're seeing is craziness in Tesla I mean Tesla tag him 164. This thing might be on like the road to 170 175 today if the Bulls are still showing up.
I mean Tesla is crushing. So congrats if you've been riding that one out. Uh, I haven't done any active trades on it, but it is in my retirement account. My when you account for all the stock splits I mean I got into Tesla years ago When you count for all the stock splits, my average is right around a hundred dollars. So recently I've gotten a nice 60 pop in the next in the past couple weeks. So definitely, uh, making my retirement account seem a little bit better. which is awesome. But if you guys were doing any of those active trades, especially to the bull side, massive, congratulations to you, You absolutely crushed it.

But with that being said, with the leftover 10-15 minutes we have, this is the perfect time to ask your question.
So if you have questions about I guess my opinion on charts. If you have option questions, future questions, crypto questions Fireway, this is kind of your moment to do an AMA of like if you need to get my thoughts and opinions. remember: I'm not a financial advisor, but I'm a very opinionated individual and I'm more than happy to give you my thoughts on the situation, more than happy to give you my thoughts on a situation. So let those questions fire.
Uh, Vktx? uh Josh I wouldn't actually to get the quick ownership I would go off Intel on that which you could do for free Matt How do we program and back test data? Um, so if you're on trade station they have uh, their own native language. it's called easy language. You could do back testing there. It looks like there is a strategy tester here on trading View so you could do that. Um I I haven't done this one yet I mean I try to load it but nothing really came up. so I want to figure that one out? Uh, and then for any of the coders out there like I'm trained like my college degree was computer science. so I do a lot of just uh, python testing I'll use my own like Jupiter notebook or something like that. So native language on tradestation if you're Python code or and if you're not, there's a lot of great YouTube videos out there.
great Rumble videos out there. great udemy classes out there for you to Learn Python I Think everyone should learn a little bit of coding. Um, but then it all also does seem as if trading view is kind of getting going with their own which is interesting. Uh, what's worse? MOS talk or Mullen talk.
Uh I mean I think they're one in the same I think Mullen talk like people are trying to get you to believe that it will mow us. Uh, where did Trey go he quit. Have you ever used opening range strategy for futures? as in yeah, I've done that. Like so looking at the opening whatever 10, 15, 30 minute range and as soon as you break to the upside or the downside, playing that for a little bit of a scalp I've done that before, the odds on it actually were pretty decent.
Matt What's your go-to hair product for that amazing quaff? Uh, I go with the Old Spice like Pomade or something like that. Why is this stream ending before Market opens? Uh, things to do things to do people to chat with emails to Sam VCS to Doom trades to do locals to hang out with discords to hang out with busy busy day Matt My wife is trying to lose weight. Should I tell her she doesn't need to eat things when she picks them up? Uh, interesting tactic. uh, might get you smacked.
Definitely might get you smacked I Think you might want to ease into that one Tyler Maybe like hey, let's not focus on your diet like do piecewise. be like, hey, let's not focus on your diet yet. Let's just focus on four or five days out of the week getting a little bit more exercising than you do that I Feel like as soon as you get a little momentum in the healthy direction, it makes you want to do more. But then all of a sudden if you're trying to start by doing everything right out of the gate, you end up just being like this is too much and you end up quitting.
Uh, do you eat cold cookies in? Lunchables Eat the cold cookies I Do Lunchables have cookies dude? Lunchables were my jam, the pizza ones and the nacho ones but I don't know if they ever came with cookies I Remember sometimes like the rich kids had the Lunchables that came with the Hi-C and I was always so jealous of them like damn man you're getting a high C on top of an amazing Pizza Matt Please live stream for us to chat with some old rock music up True breed. Uh if I can get all my work done I'll do a stream in locals. It's kind of work dependent so make sure you're on locals. I'll email you out if I'm going to end up doing a stream. kind of a private one for anyone who wants to hang out. and if we're doing it in locals, there's pretty much no rules. We could do whatever the we want to do. Um, so maybe that's going to be the Friday Vibe is more of we'll do like private streams and we can get into more detail.
I Could we could go over some coding stuff? We could play whatever music we want. We don't have to worry about Dmca so Macquares.locals.com and if you want to do it and you're like I don't know if this is for me, you could do it for free. just put in the code like I'm not saying that you have to like risk your ten earned your debt 10 hard-earned dollars quite yet. Uh, Matt what's your opinion on Fisker I Know the chart isn't anything special, but curious if you have an opinion on the company.
I Do not the main EV play like if I'm following an industry that I'm bullish on. it. Kind of makes sense to care most about the biggest one in the industry which is Tesla There are some Upstream plays I think are interesting, especially if you're looking at like lithium mining I think that's something to consider for the world of Evie Um, but Fisker like I at one point when Evie was really really running in 2021, I knew more about it. but I haven't checked that one in like six to eight months, maybe even a year so don't know it off the top of my mind.
How's the market outlook for today? Uh, well, here's an example of something I put on locals. Um, so this is the seasonal bicep of the day for January 27th trading day of the month. 18 also happens to be the trading day of the year since we're in January So over the past 25 years today specifically has it had a bullish win rate of 60 and then obviously a bearish win rate of 40. Uh, the profit factor is 1.77 Anything above one is good because it means for every dollar you spend, you're getting a dollar 77 back.
and then if you traded at the open on today and held it to the close on today, this is what it would have looked like over the past 25 years. So pretty bullish today from a seasonal perspective is bullish. So I would say that is beneficial from this current year. I Love this uptrend.
So obviously I'm favoring the Bulls because the trend is to the upside if we're looking in more of a microscopic sense. we saw a bullish push off the report. Now it's quickly giving it back. so kind of net neutral, we're volatility going nowhere off that 8 30 report.
Please don't forget that there are other reports coming out at 10 A.M today. But right now, based on the recent daily chart based on seasonality, I'm I'm leading bullish today. Um, just those. it obviously could go the other way. It's obviously not a guarantee. But if we look at seasonality and if we look at this setup for this particular year, it does seem like the Bulls are winning. Eventually, it'll change because we always just cycle, the Bulls are in control, the Bears are in control. We expand, We consolidate, We expand, we consolidate.
But right now I'm not one to predict when it's going to switch. I'm more of one to say. Once it does switch, how long can we ride that? Trend And the trend that's been very interesting recently is Tesla which has just been ripping off faces. Absolutely ripping off faces.
Uh, what are your thoughts on? V Chain By far my favorite coin. It is nowhere close to my favorite coin um, the only crypto that I really have faith in at this moment is Bitcoin and I. Don't say that to like besmerge other projects coins, tokens. It's just that all those other projects coins and tokens that are not Bitcoin as things currently stand could get crushed by Regulators The only crypto that as of now is defined as a commodity and is not going to get crushed by being defined as the security is Bitcoin Um, so nothing to say about those other individual projects, coins or tokens.
it's just more of commentary on the current regulatory situation, comment on the current regulatory situation. Yeah, Intel got destroyed. Uh, what are we down down? 10 Intel got murked Intel went from 30 down to 27. Not a good situation by any means.
How is that? actually? it is it? Sympathy effect? Yeah. sympathy effect over to AMD Uh, sympathy effect? Probably over to Nvidia a little bit, but yeah, it was when you have a company and an industry report so poorly. The other similar companies also take a hit, but vice versa. they do well.
We see this a lot. We talk about it more in terms of the airline industry. When we see one crush it, we expect the others to crush it. So Intel reported did horribly and then obviously that kind of got telegraphed over to AMD um to Nvidia probably to Micron right here.
Micron Yeah, they're all slightly down this morning. Uh with Intel being down the most. Uh Intel primary competitor, Avgo looking good? uh I Don't know if AV Geo's Intel's main competitor. I would say Intel's right there with Nvidia AMD Micron Like all the other major semiconductor plays, the other major semiconductor plays all right.
What other questions we have? Fire them away. we have a couple more minutes. A couple more minutes. Uh, did you follow the hype with BuzzFeed and Chachi BT Uh, I mean I Saw a buzzfeed.
It ripped yesterday just because they said that they were going to be replacing the writers with AI And right now it gained a hundred and twenty percent. Yesterday gained another 34 in pre-market trading. But look at this like it was a failed Speck. So it popped and then it got crushed. Try to recover, got crushed, try to recover, got crushed, and now it's just popping again. This is an active trade. This is reminds me a lot of Mullen of Uh, Gns of Gtii. All these they pop for a little bit and then they get crushed so it there's no reason for you to trace it.
after a 120 gain yesterday, followed by 33 in pre-market If you're super degenerate, you would have to wait for like an intraday Valley to get created that you could risk off of. But do I think this is gonna hold No Buzzfeed's awful BuzzFeed is a failing company who know and trust BuzzFeed It's kind of a farce of a news. Outlet Like, who uses that anymore? Um, for them, the fact that they're going to be able to save money I See that like fundamentally, that might be an improvement. They have to pay less writers.
They'll probably get better writers with AI But like is this going to be the thing that like majorly turns BuzzFeed around I I Doubt it, it might. but I doubt it. Uh, but yeah. I followed it I mean I am interested in AI I think that stuff is cool I think AI is here to stay and I think it's going to revolutionize things and right now it caused BuzzFeed to rip.
So if you were in it, congrats, But don't chase it. There's too many people just chasing, chasing, chasing. Uh, True to especially since the programmers that left one is just the writers uh, really tells you the average person true opinion about BuzzFeed Yeah, no one really cares about BuzzFeed At one point it was. the argument was very, very different back when it was still a private company.
But they've just made some weird political decisions and I think the way they chose to go. um, not just left leaning and that's fine. There are successful, less left-leaning media Outlets but like the style in which they did it. I'm not even sure if left-leaning people really like to listen to BuzzFeed anymore.
They kind of like ostracize their own audience. They've made very weird business decisions. Uh, Silvergate 211 Crooks Uh, Silvergate I'm against it. It's at 14 it if we look at Silvergate ticker symbol Si This is the crypto bank that facilitated all of the connection or all the banking for all the big crypto players such as FTX Finance They had this thing called the send Network Sen um and right now when we're seeing things like bits Lotto the whole doj FBI stuff of like we found it like money laundering, illegal stuff, blah blah blah um I Just don't see how Silvergate doesn't get caught up in that.
and they've processed trillions of dollars. and if one of those dollars is found out to be illegitimate, like somehow just illegal SI is going to get crushed. it's already been getting crushed. But I think this thing is still attempting to take a nosedive to like sub five dollars I have no position on it. but I am in no way optimistic about it, no way optimistic about it. All right folks, that's what I have for you today. I Just wanted to go over earnings and everything that's playing out there. Uh, I Also wanted to go over the Pce report the next inflation report.
it dropped pretty much everything was in line. We didn't have a surprise to the upside or the downside. From a seasonal perspective, today is quantifiably bullish from the current situation. Looking at the technicals, the Bulls are also in control.
Obviously, that stuff can change on a moment's notice. Nothing is guaranteed, so pay attention to risk, pay attention to your leverage. But right now it does feel like the Bulls are winning and I'm excited to see if the week is going to play out in that exact same manner later on. today.
