I bought nio at 7$ first but I sold. Then bought at 13 and hold since then. That's my first time I bought stock that blew up so much

I like Nio long term , but afraid Feb earnings reports will sink the entire market , bringing Nio down with it . I don`t want to leave profit on the table ,but the market is getting way risky

I' just turned 13 and I need help. Now do I put in 43k and buy now or wait for it to sink. I'm just worried I wont get be able to buy if it goes up higher ?
Good luck with your long calls. Sell puts on NIO next time. That way if you are wrong you'll end up with NIO shares and just hold them.
Thank you for your insight. If you would buy as many as you could at $50/share knowing it’s going up much higher, why wouldn’t you by at $60?/share? I curious into your thinking on that.
Premium products get high price, profit margin. Then prices can be reduced to go to lower price segments. NIO can do that. You cannot start at bottom, once you get cheap brand label, it is impossible to move up.
If u weren't doing option calls and the selling them, you wouldn't have to wait for it to drop to 50 to buy shares..
I added another half position earlier this week at the very bottom floor at 55.90 before it went back to the moon the next day lol, feels really good about it. I think I'm pretty comfortable with what I have now and maybe will buy NIO again in 1-2 months when I see really good prices right now. As of now, happy to just hold as my portfolio is too heavy on NIO.
I was waiting for a $55 entry, but I got in at $57 this past week. Definitely going to load up if it drops to low 50s. Thanks for your info! I hope this flies UP!

Outside of China, the number of EV companies going public is mounting and, if automotive history is any guide, many will disappear in one way or another. As gas-powered cars commercialized in the early 1900s, for example, roughly 485 companies entered the business. By 1930 fewer than 50 survived and just three accounted for 80% of auto output. Likewise, at the moment in China, more than 500 EV companies had registered by 2019 but only a handful were able to raise additional funds last year to produce one vehicle or to scale manufacturing. Now it appears EV startups are proliferating outside of China. Again, if history is any guide, most of them will fail to reach scale. As you know Tesla and NIO are delivering actual cars in China. My money is on TSLA and NIO. I sold NIO, but that’s because I think there are some potential China/US business relations problems. Biden has a better chance of smoothing those over. Pompeo was just sanctioned by China. Imagine that: being sanctioned by a country.

Hey Matt. great video and quick comment. i worked at the Toyota /GM plant (NUMMI) for 14 years. That plant is now the Tesla plant in Fremont. The advantage of doing a luxury vehicle first and then a ‘cheaper’ model is that you focus on quality first, otherwise the expensive vehicle would not sell. Once you have this baseline, suppliers continue to build the same quality but with cheaper materials for the more affordable vehicle. Quality is the key here. this means NIO also has to have the operator stations set up to produce quality. These ‘tasks’ of putting the vehicle together must be highly repeatble to have quality in each vehicle; therefore the standard work the operators perform MUST be fully repeatable. This is a big differentiator and huge advantage in the auto industry. Think about it this way, if you don’t have quality being produced at each step of the build, you end up with quality issues which cost labor, time, parts to repair and delays to the customer which turns into unhappy customers and delays in sales.
