Moon gang listen up, it appears as if dewak aka truth, social aka. Former president trump's social media play is not having a good time. It's under serious pressure, and you could see that in the stock chart because it keeps going down and down and down. But now it might fall even more because there's a new federal criminal probe, here's everything you need to know just so.
You know i'm filming this. On june 28th, 2022. dwack is trading at 24.36, year-to-date it's down 53, and it also means that from its all-time high, it's currently down a brutal 86. Now a lot of this had to deal with hey the technological development of the app and the user signups.
It's just not what people wanted. Hence it went down and down and down and also elon getting into the fray, with twitter kind of took away a little bit of its luster a little bit of its allure. But now things are getting even worse and it looks like this spack might be going nowhere. Trump's back deal threatened by federal criminal probe.
If you don't know what a spac is, it's a special purpose acquisition company. Basically, it's an entity of money that ends up buying equity in a private company. So it's another way to hit the public markets. You might have heard about ipos direct listing spax are kind of the new kid on the block.
They were popular a couple years ago. Now the popularity is dying out, but it's just basically one way in which a private company can hit the public markets. Here's what's going on a federal criminal investigation is threatening the proposed merger between former president donald trump's, social media enterprise and a spac dewac revealed in a filing on monday, along with its board of directors, it had received subpoenas from a federal grand jury. The company was already under investigation by the sec so when it rains it pours, and just so you know why this is important right here.
The merger would grant trump's company and its social media platform through social over one billion dollars in capital and its own stock market listing once again a spac play. It's a combination, this merger of a private company and a public company, the public companies, basically just a pile of cash, and it brings it on to the public market from the private market just from its equity ownership. Hence why it's a merger and hence why trump cares so much about it. But it looks as if it's not going to go the way they want it to a federal criminal investigation is threatening the proposed merger between former president donald trump's, social media enterprise and a special purpose acquisition company on june 16th.
It was informed that each member of its board of directors received subpoenas from a federal grand jury in new york. Dwack also revealed on monday that aboard manner bruce garlick. I hope that's how you say it. I told management that he would resign from the board.
Last wednesday bruce said, his resignation was not the result of any disagreement with the wax operations, policies or practices which makes me think it was exactly the result of that kind of weird thing to just say, but yeah, that's not good. Dwack warned that the subpoenas and the probes by the sec and the u.s department of justice could delay or even prevent its merger with trump's social media company. Now, obviously, this could end up becoming a nothing burger, but with the doj looking into it with the sec. Looking into it with board of members leaving the board, it's not good, it's not good. For me, i have no investment in dwack back when it went. Haywire went from 10 up to 175. I was playing it at one point in time, but really i kind of got added to it, because i thought a lot of people who were attracted to it would get re-attracted to twitter with elon and that whole ordeal. And when you take that into account.
Now, with this federal criminal probe, in my opinion, it seems as if dewac is done, it seems as if truth, social is done. Obviously, these are just my own opinions, i'm not a financial advisor. I just wanted to share this news with you. Let me know your thoughts in a comment below i'll catch.
