DISCLOSURE:
I have a beneficial long position in the shares of AMC & GME either through stock ownership, options, or other derivatives.

Oh, oh so, obviously this is a very, very dark day and there's going to be a lot of insanity on the human level on the geopolitical level and then also on the market level. Hence, why we're starting this stream early and depending on what is or isn't going to go down? I am more than fully prepared to do a full d full day stream. If that's what's necessary, it's a crazy situation. If you don't know, what's going on, russia has declared war on ukraine um the u.s, thus far, not really directly involved.

Obviously, we are indirectly involved, but nato allies to my understanding, at least as we're going over this in real time articles four articles, five have not been invoked um to the best of my understanding and remember, i am not some sort of military expert, i'm not sort Of geopolitical expert uh, definitely not a financial advisor expert or any of that just attempting to cover the news, because already right now, we are seeing a whole host of misinformation going on um right now in real time, so uh we're going to be going through it. We're going to be doing our best here throughout the day to sifting what is true, what isn't true and this whole thing is just kind of blowing my mind for two different reasons. Reason number one a lot over the past week over the past two weeks. Everyone's like this is just fake news.

This is propaganda. This won't become everything well nope. Russia is in ukraine right now. Unfortunately, it's a very very dark hour because this could get tilted in an even more horrific manner and number two, i'm already seeing questions of like how will this somehow um attack or how will this somehow like relate with amc or jimmy folks? I'm in my amc.

I'm in my gme, but at a certain sense this folks this is war, people losing their lives. This is not going to be a benefit to any equity. If you think there's a chance of a short squeeze today. I fear you have not really been learning over the past year.

Their money will be going out of the market today, people are absurdly scared, not just in the u.s market, in all markets and for very good reasons. We are legitimately talking about war. This isn't some sort of hedgy tactic or anything like that. This is a very, very serious thing that historians are going to be writing about.

You are living in history right now, and unfortunately, this particular chapter of history is not a good one. Lives have already been lost, the most recent counts roughly in the realm of a thousand people, have already lost their lives. This is a very, very serious matter going on and in my personal opinion, you got ta pay attention, because this will have clear implications on anyone on this planet which, if you're watching this, is you right now. This is not something that, like it's a distant fight.

No, this is going on in europe. There's a good chance. People watching this right now are in europe. You could have close friends, you could have family members, you have co-workers that are going to be directly impacted on this and i don't know like some of the tone and the questions and things that we're seeing are absolutely nuts cootery.
I see what's going on um what you just posted, if you ha, if you can, can you dm me, like your source, your information there on uh discord get that over to me. So, what's going on, like i said, i am fully prepared to do a full day coverage of what the hell is going on. If you guys have breaking news, if something is breaking, that's the appropriate time to spam we're trying to get the news out as quickly as we can we're trying to get the accurate, appropriate news out as quickly as we can um so i'll definitely be relying on All of you, throughout the day of what is going on where's the information where's, the sources we're going to be monitoring the markets. Obviously we see gold and oil shooting up.

We see the markets coming down. We could check out all the markets. Yeah i'll give you the short interest numbers there's going to be down times where something isn't developing and that could be a little bit more akin to our normal stock streams. But the name of the game today is figuring out what the hell is going on, because there have already been active developments roughly for the past 15 hours, uh, really all hell broke loose throughout the night and it is showing no signs currently of slowing down.

So that's what's going on, we have some news i'll be going over that and i wanted to start early to basically start early with. All of you give you a better idea of what is going to actually be playing out throughout the day and where my mindsets at and how i want to play this all out and then also, i guess you could see a little bit of how i actually Get prepped for the day, but um i got prepped enough basically to make this thumbnail and get started with all of you. So this is just um. I don't know, and i at certain points i guess we should also talk about.

Like the philosophical things of there's people making serious money, betting against the market right now, that's a tough one and i think that's something that everyone has to answer for themselves, but even right now the trades that i have they're up a considerable amount, but the reason That they're up is the reason that doesn't make me good, like feel good. Obviously, there's lives on the line, but then, on the flip side, making or not making money doesn't change the situation. It doesn't change the lives lost um. I think, obviously you have to put yourself your family kind of above all else in this situation, but once again, that's a very tough philosophical question that i think everyone has to answer for themselves, but throughout the day i'll still be doing the breakdown of the markets And where i see, support and resistance and i'll be shouting out the trades that i am or not doing, in my thoughts on the situation um.
So with all that being said, let me hop over to this just to give you a quick snapshot of where the market's at the spy is currently down 2.6 after dropping 1.7 percent yesterday, and then nasdaq is down 2.5 percent or is said down an additional three Point two percent: after dropping two point: five percent: yesterday oil is up pushing a hundred dollars a barrel and gold is up. Uh gained point five percent. Yesterday now it's up another two point: seven percent so store value, gold, spiking oil, spiking and then right now we're seeing markets at least u.s markets go down, but that's the same tone for the world right now. This is a look at the russian markets, which i believe should be closing pretty soon uh they're, currently down 26.

At one point they were down drastically more at one point: they were down around 42 got a little bit of a bounce, but still this is their equivalent. That moex is equivalent to their s. P, 500. So obviously, that's getting rocked and if you look at the asian markets, if you look at the european markets, any markets right now, it's there's a lot of red a lot.

A lot of red. The same can be said about the crypto markets. The things going up right now are volatility, gold and oil. Those are the three things, the three main things that are currently going up so, as i just wanted to give you that quick prep of what's going on and where we're at uh, i have some news for you.

We have some euro news. This is the stuff. That's like actively reporting and then we're going to be pivoting into u.s news. I am very, very certain that we're going to be getting updates from like u.s politicians.

Probably biden will be speaking at some point today, but russia launches attack russia, attacks, ukraine and warnings of worst european war since 1945. So yes, russia, obviously declaring war on ukraine they're invading and they're, using particularly land from the east and the north with belarus. But news is like it's coming in we're going to be doing our best to sift between what is and isn't real, and i'm going to be asking you for help on that. If you have what's going on, please please uh reach out to me.

Let me know dme spammy, whatever uh, but the name of the game is getting out accurate information as quickly as we possibly can. So let me actually get this going. While i find some extra news sources well as being a threat to the security of europe and its atlantic allies, so let me just give you a reminder: if you're just joining us here on euro news, we're bringing you continuous coverage here as part of our special Broadcasting today on this attack of russia on ukraine, it's been described by ukrainian forces. The foreign minister, dimitri dimitro, sorry kuleba earlier said.

This was a full-scale invasion. There. You can see on the right of your screen just one a picture, a typical picture that we've been receiving here, um, seen repeated across the country as uh pet people have been filling up: their uh petrol tanks. Really, despite some reports, despite some reports which emerged overnight following ukraine's declaring a state of emergency, and now it's launched martial law that there were some rumors that an attack was imminent, do stay with us here on your news, we're going to be uh continuing our coverage.
Uh we're going to be bringing you some reports now of some of the day's. Significant developments do stay with us throughout the day. If you can many people call russia, you know communist or authoritarian putin is essentially a dictator of russia and all deals that the russian government makes with russian billionaires, go through putin directly and he has amassed a significant wealth over that time. Depending on the sources.

You look at anywhere from 500 to 800 billion in personal wealth that he controls and so make no mistake. Putin does care about global financial stability. The crux of the issue here is - and gurgaon mentioned this earlier as well - the massive dependence uh. Oh sorry - and this is the point that i forgot to make earlier uh once gergavin brought up that update about taiwan, but the point i was trying to make earlier was that the reason germany and france and italy cannot mobilize troops directly against russia at this time.

Is because of their massive dependence on russia for oil and energy? It's also why we've seen you know crude oil, uh wti crude uh spike over a hundred last night. For the first time since 2014, we saw brent crude spike to 105, which is you know, a high since 2013 2014 as well, very quickly. Um hang on. We have an update taiwan.

Defense ministry says nine chinese air force planes entered into its air defense zone on thursday, so tension's continuing to get higher now on the whole global scale, uh be obviously there's. This is like a whole history thing, but between russia, taiwan or excuse me, china and taiwan. Now, adding into the scenario with russia and ukraine, a ukrainian foreign minister calls on its allies to break diplomatic ties with russia that'll most likely play out. Uh taiwan defense says nine chinese air force planes all right.

We have that uh ukraine, president, says waiting for allies to impose concrete sanctions on russia and give concrete assistance. U.S. President biden, uh convenes national security council meeting to discuss ukraine white house official, i'm sure we'll be getting an update from there, but i just wanted to quickly share that. I know everyone has forgotten about kova to miss these headlines, but keep in mind we're just coming back into a reopening global economy.

Global supply chains are fractured, we're seeing ripping inflation in a variety of countries around the globe. You know u.s inflation headline inflation at 7.5. Most economists would tell you that real inflation is much higher. We've seen double digit inflation all across europe.
Countries of africa and asia are seeing double-digit inflation. I mean these are just the headline numbers. An energy chokehold like this. Will you know really destabilize the global economy, and many are saying that that is putin's intention putin realizes that he can really thread the needle here, because he can destabilize um.

You know the inflationary environments in the global economy merely by constricting oil supply to europe, and on top of that, it allows russia to further finance its war efforts and fund its economy, because russia has a massive exporter of oil and so a rising price in oil. You know - and this may be very difficult for people to grasp, but a rising price in oil, despite the crash of the russian stock market, a rising price in oil is good for the russian economy and that's what's allowing them the flexibility to continue this offensive. Without fear of the sanctions that could be imposed because these sanctions, you know, regardless of how extreme they are and granted you know nato and uh the un have said these will be the most extreme sanctions of the modern era, despite how extreme they are. If oil prices surge, if we see brent crude at 120, 130 dollars, if we see wti crude at 105 110 dollars, russia will make so much money from the surge in the prices of oil that you could argue that it will strengthen their war effort, as opposed To impair it, and so while many are pointing to the collapse of the russian stock market as an issue of concern, i would argue that russia has planned this out and uh.

You know, i don't think putin considering his financial exposure was dim-witted enough to not know that the russian stock market would collapse from this invasion. I think he knew that full and well, but what i think he also knew was that energy prices would surge and that that would grant him more leverage over europe, which he already has plenty of, and so i think, monitoring the energy situation. You know many of us. I had people earlier who were kind of upset with us for monitoring energy prices as if we're trying to profit from this conflict, that's not the case at all um.

You know the market is really a barometer of global sentiment, uh. As a report as a um uh, you know portion of this conflict, so i think we have to kind of maintain an understanding that the response of global markets is somewhat a reflection of the global sentiment surrounding the situation, and so i would be hesitant to dismiss Um, you know the developments that we're seeing uh with regard to global markets. I think those are very critical to keep an eye on um and it's also critical to keep an eye on. I think you know considering the fact that you know we are a very politically divided country here in america, and i know that many of you who may be discontent with our president feel like you cannot trust the sources of this country, and this is just my Opinion, but one thing i would emphasize is that, regardless of your political division, regardless of your political and uh uh, you know opinions.
We are all americans, and europe is at war for all intents and purposes, and it may not be on our soil at this time, but i think standing behind us intelligence standing behind nato for those of you who are american for those of you who are canadian For those of you who are from uh parts of europe that want peace for those of you who are from ukraine, all we can do at this juncture is stand with nato. The chances that the u.n can muster a military offensive are likely very low. The u.n generally deploys peacekeeping forces and is not a military-oriented organization. If we are looking for a military response from the rest of the world, i think we need to look to nato.

Nato has been built as a defense organization, um and and if there is going to be a military reaction, it will be in response to the killing of a member of a nato nation. So if one polish soldier dies that's a very good point, the way nato is set up is basically between articles four and five. If any at person singular soldier of nato dies it's going to trigger all of nato, it's going to be like a unil unilateral declaration of all nato going in on this, and for those of you who don't know, that's kind of what this is all about is Uh, well, i shouldn't say: there's so many like different aspects to it, but a key aspect is basically you need a map, but ukraine is born in russia and the whole thing is: will ukraine join nato because if so, that basically means nato is knocking on the Door of russia right now, ukraine is not a member of nato, but in this scenario poland kind of a country to the northwest there and let's pull up a map, because i think that could help out. If a polish soldier were to die, that's a nato soldier dying if a nato soldier dies, you might see fledge.

Everyone declare war right now it is russia in ukraine and they are using kind of like the proxy set up of belarus a little bit to the north there. But this this is one stray bullet hitting the wrong person and then all of a sudden, you have many countries potentially declaring war ukrainian resistance south of kiev. So right now again, the main offense of being launched on kiev is being launched from belarus. So, for those want to keep track of what i'm saying uh, it's not necessarily obvious from the map.

But again, if you reference the map, if you look at that region to the north of the um, a small stars, three small stars, uh right above kiev k-y-i-v, which is uh, how it's spelled uh for the ukrainians. Some of you may spell it k-i-e-v. But if you see those three stars to the north of kiev again, i'm referring to the map and the pin tweet for those who are having trouble following see those three stars: northern pf, those are on the belarusian border. So those those attacks have been launched directly from belarus on those bordering cities and as again we we covered earlier.
Russia has now occupied that entire border region around belarus um pretty much. The entire belarusian army has been mobilized, uh, and so this is a completely coordinated attack by two nations on ukraine, and it is disheartening, sad and disappointing to see that you know we, as an international community, are allowing this bloodshed to happen. Hundreds and hundreds of ukrainians are being massacred by one of the biggest global powers on earth and there is little to no military mobilization to stop them. It's sad to see it's disappointing to see uh to me, i'm sick and tired of hearing of sanctions.

Russia clearly has shown that they don't care russia before this invasion. Yesterday, the russian ukrainian foreign, sorry, the russian foreign ministry said that they are unprecedented isolation. Euronews correspondence made from a command has the latest from brussels. Let's bring you more now on this uh our main story today, the only story today that is the story of russia, launching an attack on ukraine, an attack which nato has condemned as a brutal act of war.

Russia launched this attack against ukraine early this morning. It came after president, vladimir putin went on national television and announced that he would be announced that there was a special military operation taking place um. He said it was down to russia to denazify the country and big explosions, as you can see, on. The right of your screen were heard shortly before dawn in several cities, including the capital, kiev, hakeev, odessa amongst many others, acts which were swiftly followed by condemnation from various world leaders.

That picture we're. Bringing you on the left of your screen is the scene right now. In the ukrainian capital independence square normally on on a thursday, it would be uh teaming with uh life, and you can see just a few cars around. There are seen in stark contrast from what we've been told from our reporters on the ground uh, to seen in stark contrast, i should say to what's happening on the outskirts of the city, where there's been a massive exodus to leave the capital.

Many people have been urged others to stay indoors and stay inside for safety of course um, but for now it's uh all quiet there. This comes, of course, just a day after uh, the vladimir uh, sorry after vladimir zelinski, the ukrainian president, uh called to for reservists to report back to barracks, to arms that call for mobilization we're going to hear now from our correspondent in russia. Our correspondent is just saying that the russian press secretary she's just giving us the latest on what the kremlin and russian defense officials have been saying today and galena polanskaya is explaining what is the motive of the ultimate aim of this attack, and that is the neutralization Of the ukrainian army they've said that they expect this operation to be to be go on for the time defined by the main commander so being uncommittal over how long this operation is said to take place has been speaking to several people in rostov on dawn. That's a south southern eastern town in russia, close to the as of sea, where russia has a large military.
Thank you presence there in the sea. We should remind ourselves, of course, vladimir putin earlier on today justified the attack on ukraine in that television address, arguing that it's needed to protect civilians in eastern ukraine, a claim the united states has described as false and simply a pretext for this invasion. So we've heard a lot of condemnation there, glina polanskai, just giving us a brief picture, a snapshot of of what some people in rostov or don have been uh saying to her there's been quite a lot of the people she was saying there she's spoken to have Expressed support for vladimir putin saying that he is doing the right thing. He also, we should remind ourselves warned any country that attempts to interfere saying that they would see or experience consequences.

You have never seen so all this military activity and bombings and explosions. So far ukrainian officials are saying some 40 people have been killed as a result across various cities. It's um still relatively uh early right now, together to get a clear picture, but uh ukrainian officials are saying there have been around 40 deaths. We hope to provide you with more details on that now and from the ukrainian side.

Earlier on today, they said that they had shot down a. They said that they had shot down a russian fighter jet and if you're, following our coverage, uh throughout the day, perhaps you would have seen if you haven't. I do urge you to stay with us. Uh matt in the cube had a very good breakdown on the social media reactions to this conflict, which has erupted some of the claims and counter claims which have been uh.

Um exploding blowing up traffic on social media just going to uh continue with our coverage throughout the day here we'll be here, bringing you the latest developments on. What's been happening, don't forget you can, if you can't stay with us here on your news on tv. We have an active presence on social media, we're also, if you can do check out the live blog on our websites on the front page for all the latest developments hello, and welcome to this special edition of your news. Now i'm takumbo solarco we've got continuous to stay with us.

Uh matt and thecube had a very good breakdown on the social media reactions to this conflict, which has erupted some of the claims and counter claims which have been exploding blowing up traffic on social media to continue with our coverage throughout the day here we'll be here, Bringing you the latest developments on, what's been happening, don't forget you can, if you can't stay with us here on your news on tv, that we have an active presence on social media, we're also, if you can do check out the live blog on our websites on The front page for all the latest developments uh, we have a new one right here from walter bloomberg. We have uh air siren can be heard in keeve, that is the capital. Raiders live feed as we get new breaking news across the wire um. A new uh battalion of russian cruise missile infrastructure has been moved out of the captured donbass region so for those who've been paying attention since the beginning of the conflict, the donbass region is where this conflict began and now we're seeing cruise missile infrastructure being moved out Of capture donbass territory deeper into ukraine, um reports are that the efforts are to target additional military infrastructure surrounding the capital of kiev again for updates on kiev, we've seen several developments.
We've seen the belarusian offensive from the north of kiev, which again the belarusian border for those who are looking at the map above which is still pinned above. This is a very easy way to keep track of what i'm discussing but um the northern region. The northern border right above kiev, the capital which is in north central ukraine, um we're seeing that belarusian offensive continue to mount more additional soldiers being put there. We're seeing russian special forces paratroopers and commandos being airdropped directly into kiev attempting to target the government unit of kiev.

You know u.s intelligence reported before the invasion began, that the intention was uh to target assassination targets of key ukrainian officials, which looks like that might be the attention of these paratroopers and then, moreover, we're seeing cruise missile infrastructure russian cruise missile infrastructure being moved from the Donbass region into firing range of kias uh. There is been several statements from the uh ministry of foreign affairs from russia that says if ukraine uh stops retaliating and drops arms that they will not make moves on attacking civilian infrastructure, um inc in the capital of kiev. We've known this report also to be largely false over the course of the night. As you know, there has been evidence from the ukrainian military report this morning that russia not only did attack civilian infrastructure sites, but russia attacked a total of 30 sites.

Again, all 30 of those sites are in the map above, but russia attacked 30, individual military and civilian infrastructure sites and has occupied several residential neighborhoods and civilian areas. So, despite what the russian propaganda machine is saying, they are have certainly already targeted civilians and there have been confirmed civilian deaths already. So i think monitoring the situation around the capital of ukraine and kiev is critical. If kiev, if the capital falls, obviously this situation will escalate rapidly uh back to the live feed here um there is new, more news coming out of ukraine, we'll go to euro news.
Now they have the breaking news here. As of today, our countries are on different sides of world history. Russia has embarked on a parking place. Here's the statement from joseph the eu's foreign policy chief on twitter.

He is saying that the eu strongly condemns russia's unjustified attack on ukraine in these dark hours. Our thoughts are with ukraine and the innocent men, women and children as they face this unprovoked attack and fear for their lives. A statement reiterated by eu figures. We will hold the kremlin accountable and indeed within europe you're, seeing very similar words to this from a number of european union leaders and the early indications are that even moscow's allies within the eu are turning against russia, for example.

This is a statement that was released by the czech republic, prime minister petra fayala. Now, the czech president, milos zeman, is a man who is known for his close ties to both russia and china, but petra fiala here releasing a statement saying that he had spoken to the czech president, milos german and they were united in their stance. Supporting the european union and supporting ukraine against russia, we've had similar messages from the likes of hungary as well, including a number of other allies within europe that russia believes to have no words so far from either the serbian president alexander vucic, or the armenian prime minister. Nicole paschanan both again believed to be allies of moscow within europe, but, of course, more on an international scale.

We're seeing greater reaction. The secretary-general for nato yen stoltenberg says that the allies within the alliance condemn in the strongest possible terms what he describes as a horrifying attack on ukraine, which is entirely unjustified and unprovoked, echoing the words of the eu foreign policy chief, our thoughts are with the people Of ukraine, russia's actions pose a serious threat to euro-atlantic security and within the united kingdom, boris johnson. The prime minister has also said that he is appalled by the horrific events that are taking place. He said he has spoken to ukrainian president vladimir zelinsky to discuss the next steps.

President putin johnson says has chosen a path of bloodshed and destruction. By launching this unprovoked attack on ukraine, he went on to say on twitter that this is a catastrophe for our continent. Boris johnson saying it is a catastrophe for our continent. He says he will later make an address to the united kingdom on the russian invasion to ukraine and will also speak to his fellow g7 leaders, including, of course, the president of the united states, joe biden, and it is his response which we have seen echoed across Twitter and across social media from western leaders today, joe biden saying that russia alone is responsible for the death and destruction that this attack will bring.
The united states, its allies and partners will respond in a united and a decisive way and again, echoing those words that we've heard before the world will hold moscow, the kremlin and russia accountable for what is taking place. The european union is planning the strongest package of sanctions it has ever considered following an emergency meeting earlier today, commission president, usually wonderlion said brussels will hold president putin accountable. We will present a package of massive and targeted sanctions to european leaders for approval with this package. We will target strategic sectors of the russian economy by blocking their access to technologies and markets that are key for russia.

We will weaken russia's economic base and its capacity to modernize and, in addition, we will freeze russian assets in the european union and stop the access of russian banks to european financial financial markets, like with the first package of sanctions. We are closely aligned with our partners and allies, the united states, the united kingdom, canada, but also, for example, japan and australia. These sanctions are designed to take a heavy toll on the kremlin's interests and their ability to finance war. The european union will respond in the strongest possible terms.

President of the european council. President michel has called for a meeting of the european council this evening and they will agree and provide political guidance to adopt the stronger package, the harshest package of sanctions we have ever implemented as high representative for the foreign affairs and security policy of the european union. I will be in touch with our partners around the world to ensure the international community will be fully grasping the gravity of the moment and to call strongly and united on russia to cease immediately. This behavior, intolerable behavior and russia leadership will face unprecedented isolation.

Euro news correspondence made from a command has the latest from brussels. We return now to our main story. Russia has launched an attack against ukraine this morning, its president, vladimir putin, warned other countries that any attempt to interfere would lead to consequences. You have never seen.

We can bring you now. These live pictures of independence square in kiev after russia launched that full-scale invasion of ukraine by land, air and sea. Today this is the biggest attack by one state against another in europe. Since world war ii, russian missiles have been reported in ukraine's main cities, with columns of troops pouring across its book, its borders, rather, the russian leader, the russian leader, warned other countries that any attempt to interfere would lead to those consequences.
I mentioned that you have never seen big explosions were heard before dawn and kiev and other major ukrainian cities and the people have been told to find refuge in the nearest bunker. Dozens of people have been seen by our correspondents on the ground already seeking refuge in metro stations, they're packed with suitcases and personal belongings they're lining up at banks. These pitches, you can see now are the explosions we saw this morning when russia launched its full-scale attack following emergency talks. Nato has agreed to further beef up its land, sea and air forces on its eastern flank near ukraine.

We can now show you pictures of the aftermath of this morning's shelling after russia launched that attack this morning by land, air and sea. Dozens of people are now seeking refuge in kiev metro stations. They packed their suitcases, they're also collecting money from banks. Now nato secretary general, said an attack by one.

Nato alley is an attack on all and there will be another summit tomorrow, but in preparation nato said they have significantly increased their troops on the ground in previous weeks in preparation and that more are coming vladimir putin. Russia's president has justified the assault on ukraine in the televised address, arguing it is needed needed to protect civilians in eastern ukraine, ukraine, a false claim, the u.s had predicted he would make as a pretext of the of an invasion. Russian forces fired missiles at several ukrainian cities and landed troops on its south coast on tuesday officials and media have said after president, vladimir putin authorized what he called a special military operation in the east. There have also been reports that a russian missile has hit a ukrainian airport important notes to follow.

Ukrainian president, vladimir zelinsky has declared martial law and cut diplomatic ties with russia. Putin said the special military option was inevitable and only a question of time. These photos, you're, seeing i was talking about before - are people queuing up at grocery stores banks taking out money, ukrainians seeking refuge after russia's invasion. This morning, the russian leader claimed the attack was needed to protect civilians in eastern ukraine.

Any other country that attempts to interfere would see consequences. You have never seen before putin. Added by 11am, ukraine has reported at least 40 deaths. The roads leading out to kiev are currently jammed with traffic as people seek to flee the city following russia's invasion, president zielinski has announced ukraine is cutting diplomatic ties.

The ukrainian leader has offered weapons to anyone who wants them. The president also said ukrainians are strong and ready for everything. Kiev introduced that martial law across the country. Following the start of this military operation, eu heads of state are expected to meet in person in brussels later today, european commission chief, ursula van der lion, has announced european leaders will be presented with a package of massive and targeted sanctions for their approval.
Now to some international reaction, continuing our special coverage. Uk prime minister, boris johnson, called the assault, a barbaric venture addressing the ukrainian people. He said we are with you, we are praying for you and we are on your side. In france, emmanuel macron said he has firmly condemned russia's decision to go to war in ukraine and demanded an immediate end to military operations and u.s.

President joe biden says he'll be meeting with g7 leaders today and they'll be hoping to impose severe sanctions on russia. All right folks, i see a lot of you are coming in hang on one. Second, i want to go over what is happening today, if you're, just tuning in so first of all, if this is your first time with me, welcome welcome. Usually we just talk about the markets um, but today, obviously there's going to be massive implications on the market, but roughly about 15 hours ago, if you were in the u.s most likely when in the you were sleeping during the night, russia basically declared war.

For all intents and purposes declared war on ukraine and invaded it, we're not talking about the independent regions anymore. We are talking about they're in the capital, kiev right now, um and there's a lot of reports. It seems like they're coming in from the east, also coming in from the north kind of like uh belarus, which there's there's a lot of history to be unfolded in this area. To really fully understand everything that isn't isn't happening, but at the highest level.

What you need to know about is this: this is getting bad um. I myself was being a little bit optimistic. It's turning out that i wasn't being realistic. I thought that this would be all solved diplomatically uh, just where we are in this time.

It's 2022. um. We are at the unfortunate point where technology has advanced so far that many countries in this world - many not even global powers like but like anything from the middle upward. We have technology that is beyond devastating.

We have military weapons at this point that we do not have words that accurately describe the damage that can be done. It is that simple, and it's one of these things that ever since the mid-1900s, we thought that this type of, i guess tensions and warfare were behind us. I believe it was albert einstein who said he doesn't know what world war three uh will necessarily be fought with in terms of technology, but he knows that world war four will be fought with sticks and stones um. I very very much hope, just as a person on this planet that things are resolved and they are resolved rapidly right now.

It is including russia and ukraine um. The rest of the world is tensely watching on the outside, just because uh the way. Some of these things are designed, particularly with nato. Nato has not technically joined this particular fight um as soon as one nato soldier dies, which obviously, let's hope that does not happen as soon as that does happen.
If it were to happen, that would be, i guess, the linchpin of the situation. That would be the fulcrum of the situation. That would be the crux of the situation, whatever the proper terminology is, that is exactly what it would be. If you see it right now on twitter, it is trending article four article, four article, five they're referring to nato article four and five that basically as soon as one declares it could be a kind of a unilateral situation.

Then and then, all of a sudden, you could see a lot of people getting involved a lot of countries getting involved uh with this. Obviously, you need to pay attention just because i feel like that's really. Your duty of being someone on this planet is knowing what the hell is going on at any particular moment in time, especially of this scale, and then obviously, there's going to be clear implications on global markets across the board uh when you have something this tense. This potentially horrific yes, there are already lives being lost the question.

The number isn't right now, not there's like questions up in the air, but we know that there are already casualties um. This is a very live situation if it is uh required, i'm more than prepared to be here all day more than prepared to be here all day, nato mandate, an attack on one is an attack on all and that's exactly what i'm talking about is. If there is one it's gon na fall over to, if there's one soldier who ends up getting killed in action, um, it's gon na trigger all of nato countries which there's that's world powers. That's pretty much of like the western europe like world powers that you can name um it's a dark day, it's a very, very dark day and let's just hope that it doesn't get more dark.

But i do want to prep you before the u.s market opens in about 15 minutes. I want to give you a rundown about what is being going on, because a lot has been developing since um, the basically the past 15 16 hours uh. Obviously, all the futures market down we're already gapping down 2.2 2.24 and 2.78 futures market gapping down a lot oil up. At one point, it was over a hundred dollars a barrel yields now coming down, which makes sense a lot of people flowing into bonds flowing into oil flowing in to gold um.

So that's a quick snapshot of the market. I do have these live updates. We have um. Basically, i think today is going to be a day of me buying a subscription to every news source.

Like i said, i'm prepared to be here all day. If you think you have a news source, that's the most accurate, because right now we are seeing quite a bit of propaganda over the past week or two. So many people were saying this is just warmongering. This is fear-mongering nothing's gon na come of this you're just spreading it.
I myself from the fact that i've been covering it have gotten countless dms of. Why are you talking about it? You're just spreading fear. This is all fake news. It turns out.

It wasn't folks. This is, this is a dire situation. It is literally lives on the line. Let's do our best to spread information as quickly as we can, but accurate information there's a little asterisk there we're trying to get accurate information out as quickly as we possibly can, because right now, we've already we know, there's propaganda.

We know there's fake news going about uh this whole thing. Ever since early january, the u.s intelligence has been telling us about a false flag attack, look at where we are now um the fact that people are believing a little bit more in russian news over us military news, your political bias, aside um, i i find that A little bit concerning especially seeing how this is currently playing out, but once again we do have these live updates. The most recent one uh is from president zielinski of ukraine. We are creating an anti-putin coalition.

I spoke with these four people about a concrete sanctions and concrete assistance for our military. We are waiting for decisive action, so that came out about 45 minutes ago, once again, we'll have that as our breaking news, we also have euro news and then we have cnbc. We have fox, we have cnn, we have all of it. We are ready to go.

Uh jobless claims total 232 000 slightly less than expected, q4 gdp revised to seven percent. Yes, this typically would be an important report as in a market mover, but obviously there are other key things going on. So i just wanted to quickly share that, but we need to talk more about this. Putin threatens with consequences greater than any you have faced in history if it intervenes in his invasion of ukraine, so obviously very, very bold threats being out uh.

This is from the russian president, vladimir putin, saying if there's any intervention consequences greater than any of you have faced in history, um, obviously an ominous sound to it. This is from kind of in the middle of the night right here at 3 36 a.m. On et, this is from the president of ukraine. I just wanted to play this for you very, very quickly, dear ukrainian citizens, this morning president putin announced a special military operation in donbass russia carried out strikes on our military infrastructure and our border guardsmen border guard divisions in many ukrainian cities.

Explosions were heard. We have introduced martial law across all territories in our country. A minute ago i had a phone call with president biden. The united states of america has already started to gather international support.
Today, calm is needed from each of you. If you can please stay at home. We are working, the army is working, the whole security and defense sector is working. I will be in constant contact with you, so will the national security and defense council of ukraine and the cabinet of ministers of ukraine too.

I will talk to you soon. Don't panic? We are strong, we are ready for everything we will win over anyone, because we are ukraine glory to ukraine. So, right around the time of that, it was actually stated that the president said: whoever in ukraine wants a weapon. Whoever wants a gun come to the town center, we have them for you willing to arm.

Whoever has the desire to be armed. Ukraine uh severs diplomatic ties with russia amid invasion. Ukraine cut diplomatic ties with russia after russia attacked ukraine. On thursday the foreign ministry said the step was taken further as acts of military aggression.

Ukraine is evacuating its moscow embassy and recalled it's uh all right. Blah blah blah moving on people in ukraine are queuing for banks and sheltering in metro stations in the wake of russian airstrikes, very much a run on banks right now. There's uh traffic at certain points. That's always referring to stay home, stay calm.

If you can, i don't know how sewing could stay calm in this situation, i'm not calm and i'm an entire ocean away, um even in europe. I could understand how, if you're in poland, or something like that, even bordering on the western side on the southern side, uh concerns are high. Obviously, concerns are high. I know how i feel, like i said, i'm in ocean away.

I can't imagine what it's like. My heart definitely goes out to the people of ukraine. Right now, citizens have been left queuing outside pharmacies and grocery stores. Large queues have a mass near atm machines.

We have people speaking at the u.n talking about how this could lead to a refugee crisis that we have never ever seen before. Um deutsche bank says an escalation of conflict in russia and ukraine could force gas prices up 50 and see oil rise 20. Here the six sectors of the market, most vulnerable to these increases um. So right here we've been talking about this uh oil did get over a hundred.

I've been talking about oil for a bit now in terms of the markets. I thought oil was kind of an obvious call out uh to get over a hundred. I actually think it's going to 120.. I am looking for oil per barrel to go to 120 um.

So i wanted to share this with you most affected airlines, consumer staples, autos and parts materials, industrials, financials beneficiaries, oil and gas utility companies. So if you want to check this out, this is a non-insider, maybe just a way to hopefully protect yourself in terms of financials, but i know to some people on this world think about it. This way, if your biggest concern today is your portfolio you're doing pretty. Well, yes, i'm going to cover it because i know some people still have those questions and i don't think it's necessarily philosophically bad to talk about protecting yourself financially, but also, please, please understand in a moment of seriousness, if your biggest concern today is your p l, You are doing very very well today.
I cannot that make that more explicitly clear once again, if your biggest concern is the red in your account - or maybe you bet against the market and it's the green in your account, if that's the biggest thing, the biggest emotional driver of your day, you are looking Pretty damn good at this moment in time, uh russian ruble hits record low local equity indices, tumble as much as 50 as putin forces attack on ukraine. So here's a look at the russian market uh today it is currently down 30, but over the past couple days it was down 42 at one point: we're down 48 uh, so the moex is pretty equivalent to the us's s. P, 500. Once again, the moex taking a massive massive hit, the moscow exchange, obviously gon na get hit for them.

You could argue that it is fine and financially beneficial um with oil going higher and higher, so in a certain way it's a hit, but in other aspects it's not a hit like certain aspects are getting severely hit and then other ones they're going to be making Money because they are a large oil producer, also a large natural gas producer, u.s stocks futures plunge, while oil surges 200 a barrel and safe havens, rally after russia, attacks, ukraine, safe havens, think gold. I guess you could argue a little bit of utilities right now. A lot of money pouring into oil money pouring into bonds. That's why you're seeing yields go down right here: gold surges to its highest level in over a year after russia launches a tax on ukraine.

So once again, that's a safe haven type of an investment people going out of equities they're, going risk off into bonds and gold um. That's what we're seeing and in this particular scenario, you're also seeing an influx into oil just because people are worried about the supply crunch, with the increase in demand very quickly. Five things to know before the stock market opens today, wall street set to sink after russia's invasion of ukraine, oil prices surge over 100 a barrel for the first time since 2014, gold jumps to over one year highs. Bitcoin drops to one month lows biden to address nation as russia moves to ukraine.

Is there a time for this? Russia's wide-ranging attacks, thursday in ukraine, included airstrikes in cities and bases and ground movements. Ukraine's government said russia, tanks and troops rolled across the border and accused moscow of unleashing full-scale war uh russia, president vladimir putin, said overnight that the goal of the special military operation in ukraine is demilitarization. Us o'brien is expected to address the nation thursday afternoon ahead of the attack united states and other westerns uh levied sanctions. I bet we're going to hear more sanctions again today from various countries.
A second wave of economically punitive measures is widely expected. Okay, modern expects to sell 19 billion in covet vaccine. Don't particularly care about that in this at this moment of time, russian troops all right. So we have those live updates.

We see this. The bell is going to go digging ding ding ding. In about five minutes. We are prepared for the day i have the news um like i said this is euro news right now, which is just because the time zones that's what's going on, but i bought subscriptions.

We can check out fox. We could check out cnn. We could check out abc today i will buy whatever news source i possibly have to buy. I already have some cnbc news, whatever it is, uh i'm going to be covering it.

So if you see breaking news, please let me know. The goal of today is to cover what's going on track it with the markets. Maybe we can protect ourselves here and, like i said, please understand that if your biggest concern is financials you're doing pretty good today. My goal here is to cover news accurately share accurate news as quickly as i possibly can, and we're also going to monitor the obviously the markets.

I am more than prepared to sit here all day, i'm like uh. If you have been a member of this channel for a while, you know we used to at one point, do um full day streams. It looks like today might be another full day stream. If tensions continue to be this, absolutely wild, all right, let's get ready, let me get the markets open, let's get! Actually i want oil and gold to be on the bottom here.

We'll just do the 15 minutes on these ones, so gold in the futures market gc all right. Here's a look at gold. Here's a look at oil! I actually i have gld in my long-term investment. I do i'm long on oil in the futures market and on the s p.

500. I have various trades going on right now. All that stuff is actively updated in the um locals, which is in the description of the video okay. What is this piece of news that we have hang on? Uh nato vows to defend its entire territory after russia attack? So this is kind of the interesting situation.

Ukraine is not a member of nato, and that is a certain aspect of what is going on right here. Basically, if it was, that would mean that nato is literally bordering russia at that point right here. If you look at nato articles four and five, if one thing goes awry for a nato member, it's gon na trigger all nato members, basically declaring war on russia. That's the situation we're at.

I would argue that russia has already declared war on ukraine and vice versa and right now it has not involved nato members at this moment in time, but obviously this could change on a moment's notice, so we will be paying attention to it. Uh, let's bring up the market just for open just so you know yes, crypto is severely getting hit. It's a sea of red in the crypto and obviously also the equities market uh. Oh the a couple things i wanted to share with you right here.
Um today could end up being a day where circuit breakers are triggered. Uh the market-wide circuit breakers are based on the s. P 500 market drops seven percent 15-minute hole. This is for the full market.

Uh market drops 13. Another 15-minute haul. If the u.s market drops 20, that's it exchanges are closed for the day write those down. This is once again for the s p, 500 market-wide circuit breakers, uh, 7, 13, 20 and dave lauer.

I retweeted it uh. Someone said he just had tweeted something else. I believe what else do we have, as russia is likely about to find out emergency bans on of short selling, can accelerate declines rather than curtail them. Bank of russia temporarily bans uh short selling, wow.

That's crazy, uh. The state street reports, reviews of academic literature, finds that empirical evidence suggests short selling bins, do not prevent declines in asset prices or reduce volatility. Feel strange should be talking about markets and short selling right now, as bombs are dropping on ukraine. I guess we just fall back to what we know in the midst of terrible crisis.

I hope it ends quickly and that's what i i guess on my end on more of a personal note, i don't know like it's a tense thing. It does feel weird to talk about the market, so i hope any. I hope everyone knows i'm in no way attempting to be um insensitive, i'm in no way attempting to say hey like we're just making money who cares whoa. That was very loud.

My apologies um. I'm not attempting to be insensitive, i'm just attempting my best to cover what's going on um if it comes off as that way just know, that's not my attempt, my apologies. If it does come off that way, um but obviously there's very highly important news to cover and i think it should be covered. Ding ding, ding ding, the casino is open.

The s p 500 is currently down 2.6 percent. So we are a far cry away from the seven percent. I guess first circuit breaker hall, all right oil not doing too much. I'm gon na be watching oil gold coming down right now, um the market's at open.

We have some buyers stepping in, but let's see how this actually goes, let's see how this actually plays out in terms of the overall market. Here's what i'm watching! We did gap below some key levels that we already had drawn out um this trend line. If we're breaking below this wedge, that's not a good scenario: um we're looking at this gap fill. We did talk about this yesterday right here, this high on may 19th, which is 4 11.05, so we might hit that gap fill, but then that obviously just leads to this gap that we have right here, um so 411 paying attention to that and sub 411.
I would say the next place we could realistically catch ourselves is 405 and sub 405. I will be watching 404, so these are all the levels that i am paying attention to in the overall market, seeing if any of the buyers want to step up there um. I don't really, i wouldn't argue that today is going to be a like technically sound day of like okay, here's the chart, here's normal support and resistance or the rsi being blown out. This is being driven by global economic events.

This is being driven by global military events, not necessarily anything to do with like okay, we have support, we have resistance, they might hold, they might not hold. Yes, we did gap down below this wedge and, yes, there's other gaps to be filled, but um it's going to relate far far more to the other craziness going on in the world. Far far more all right, so we're actually seeing some buying across all three sectors. Right now and i'm assuming how much is oil up in the uso uso gapping up 5.5? Here's the one minute chart all right.

Let's see how this opens and i have some of the recent news for you.
