Well, it's finally time to discuss this year's hottest, crossover event. Yep, you guessed it right! I'm talking about the official partnership between the world's premier movie theater chain amc and the people's crypto dogecoin. My name is matt and i'm just a guy who owns way too many shirts that have ducks on them and in this particular video i'm going to be talking about what dogecoin is and isn't for those of you who really don't know too much about this crypto. Then i'll be talking about the details of how amc plans on using crypto and more specifically, doge and then finally i'll be expressing my own thoughts on why.

I think that this is causing a lot of excitement and for good reason between both the ape nation community and the doge army community. So with all that being said, let's hop right into it, so very quickly. What is dogecoin? Basically, it's just another cryptocurrency such as bitcoin ethereum. It was created back in 2013 by two software engineers who really their goal was just to kind of poke fun at all.

These purists in the crypto world really just to kind of make fun of them, and that's actually why their logo that cartoon shiba inu it it was a popular meme at the time, that's actually how they ended up deciding on it and even from the get-go. The people who supported doge were they were always in on the crowd psychology. They were always in on that joke. At one point they were sponsoring a nascar.

In 2014 they sent the jamaican bobsled team to the olympics. So right here it was always. It was always for the people who were just in on the joke from more of a technical standpoint. Dogecoin is an inflationary coin that currently has about 131 to 132 billion coins in existence.

It was created by a fork from lucky coin, which was a fork from litecoin, and that was even a fork from bitcoin. Now, when you really dive into the weeds of dogecoin, there's honestly nothing too technically complex about it, there's a good chance if you search it you're going to hear the term digital currency - and this is very much true, in fact - that's the main use case of dogecoin Is it's the fact that it could be digital currency, and a main aspect of this is because it's very very fast now, when you're talking about crypto speed, you have to talk about block time. For example, dogecoin has a block time of about one minute, and this means that a new block, which is highly related to the validation of the ledger. It only takes a minute for a little bit of comparison.

Bitcoin is about 10 times slower, and it takes about 10 minutes for a new block to be created other than that doge doesn't really have a utility use case or a store. A value use case is just really really fast, which makes it perfect to buy a lot of movie tickets, speaking of which, in the august, amc earnings announcement call. The ceo of the company, adam aaron, announced that they would be looking into and implementing the technology required to accept bitcoin as payment by the end of the year and then fast forward. One month, looking in september via twitter, he announced that they would also be extending that to ethereum litecoin and bitcoin cash and then, by the end of the month.

This is where things got really interesting. He posted a poll to all of his followers and there was a high amount of engagement of should they accept doge and surprise, surprise the turnout and the enthusiasm for it blew the roof off. In fact, it even caught the attention of people such as elon musk, who is a notorious dogecoin supporter, and it even caught the attention of people like mark cuban who owns the dallas mavericks, and they happen to be the biggest dogecoin merchant and a little bit after That early october, while i'm filming this right now, we got even more of a development. This is from the amc, ceo himself, huge news, dogecoin fans.

Doges up over five thousand percent on the year, so both of these things i see where they're coming from, where it's fundamentally overvalued, i get it. I truly truly do, but i think that value has gone to the point that it's, a very philosophical debate, we're not necessarily at the point anymore of oh, like let's look at something like the earnings per share, we're just not there anymore right now, we're living in A time where the value of community is incredible and that's exactly what we have in front of us, the amc ape nation community is massive and they're ravenous. The doge army community is massive and they're ravenous and right now we're living at the exact moment in time.

Where both of these communities are pairing up - and i don't think, there's any fundamental way to possibly value that. So, in my humble opinion, i think that this is an absolutely brilliant move, you're taking two different things that have strong social sentiment and you're, putting them together. But i don't think that the addition is really going to be a linear thing. In fact, i think it'll be an exponential reaction, but with all that being said, yes, clearly, i'm very excited about it.
