dude. So good. So good. But it's not good enough to really.

I guess Start us off on the show today. Maybe maybe you felt something was off in the ether per chance, perhaps. And there's a lot of negative things to talk about. But what is the most negative thing? Yes, we could get into how the USA government good old America as of yesterday, is officially $34 trillion in debt.

That's negative. We could talk about that. We could talk about the overall stock market that really didn't get off to the best start yesterday. Apparently the Santa Claus rally was a little bit cancelled in the Spy and the Q's and a lot of our favorite equities down and down and down.

That's negative. We could talk about that, but it's not the most negative. Maybe the most negative thing is the fact that Crypto a mere hour ago completely vomited out of nowhere Bitcoin Ethereum salana. you name it, it went down.

and there's some new murmurs that the spot Bitcoin ETF approval is not going to happen. Going to get flat out denied. That's pretty negative, but in fact, it's not the most negative thing. The most negative thing? It's not debt.

It's not the stock market. It's not the potential rejection in Crypto, it's me. The most negative thing is that your boy, your favorite host, the way you guys all start your day forgot to plug in the Moon last night. Some of my astute viewers have probably already noticed that it's not on I didn't I didn't hook it up to the nuclear reactor that it requires to get the energy overnight so it's completely dead right now.

Um, and I don't know what I could do cuz I could plug it in right now. but then it would be kind of like on the ground over here and it wouldn't be in the astronaut's arms. but it's just I don't know, it's just already, it's already. It's the second show of the year and I'm already messing up the moon and our nation's in debt.

The stock market's going down, Crypto is vomiting. There's not. There's not many things that I guess are looking positive today. If we're being honest, not many things looking positive.

Oh, I do have one positive thing yo check this out. I got I got a new Buffalo shirt so that's pretty cool, huh? Two, this one's two dancing Buffalo I don't know why they're dancing I don't I don't know if buffalos enjoy dancing I'm not really sure if they're known to be uh, a species of B Vine that enjoy cutting up the rug, but that's a little bit of positive news. A new Buffalo shirt? You know, the only thing better than having one Buffalo Baye shirt in your clothing selection is having two Buffalo shirts in your clothing selection. So that's that's where I'm at.

You know you know your chest looks full. Today someone been hitting the gym. No, not at all. In fact I seriously hurt myself at the gym two days ago to the point that I can't sleep properly cuz my lower back is screaming I either messed up my hamstrings uh, like that upper part or the actual was it the sacrum like that? your tailbone uh, it hurts super super super bad to the point that I had to go get acupuncture and like a cupping massage I don't know how many of you guys have ever done cupping before.
If you ever have like back muscle problems I highly recommend cupping. Uh, but I had to find a place to do that and apparently I have to do it like every single day in a row for like the next four days or the next three days or something like that. Um, to try to fix it because my back is continually spasming over and over and over and over again and it really really hurts. It's not the worst back pain I've ever had, but it's up there.

when I did it I did it squatting. uh I laid on the gym floor for like 30 minutes and it it was not. It was not where I wanted to be, but I appreciate that. You know what? We're going to save that comment and maybe in three months you could be like dude, this course kid is now ripped.

Um so we're going to save it. Give me like 12 weeks out there and we'll see. We'll see how it goes. So uh, negative news with debt negative news with stocks negative news with crypto negative news with the moon negative news news with lower back pain positive news with a secondary Buffalo shirt.

So hey, uh, do they kind of balance each other out I would argue. Yeah, I would argue that having a second Buffalo shirt kind of balances out all the negativity. but hey, that's just one a man's opinion. Feel free to make your own I guess opinion on it.

Feel free to come to your own estimation on are they truly weighing each other out? Um, but with that being said said, we should probably talk about all that other stuff. I mean we kind of got all the negative things out of the way or the positive things. The shirt. Uh, but maybe you guys want a little bit more detail on the negative thing.

so let's just get rocking with that one today. Nasdaq Futures fall a second day following the worst session since October Apple declines again. Uh, so a lot of people are saying hey, Tech Ripped 55% in 2023 Maybe it needs to take a bit of a breather. The second to last trading day of 2023, the NASDAQ The Q's locked in a new all-time high and people are starting to say hey, the price of earnings ratio, the revenue to earnings ratio like things are getting a a little bit wonky uh and I don't know worthwhile to get into that.

But before we actually drill down into the stock market economic news, some other news that we talked about and I just wanted to give you the conclusion of it: I Know many of you don't like when I tee up a storyline, we cover it, cover it, cover it and then I get bored of it and I don't give you the conclusion. So because we talked about how people leading the quote unquote higher Education within the Us, a lot of them are absolute ding-dongs uh, we were talking about how it it wasn't really that hard for most of them to be like hey, calling for genocide typically bad, not really loud on our campus. Apparently they couldn't say that. apparently they're like depends on the context, depends on what kind of genocide you're calling for, and obviously uh, un University of Pennsylvania kind of bit them in the ass and Harvard was a hold out uh Claudine gay I believe was her name uh she's like no man, you can't get rid of me and if you do, if you do get rid of me for being a racist, it actually turns out that you're a racist.
It was an interesting line of defense. I'll have to give it to her. Well anyway, she's kind of out now and basically she piss off the country to a degree that everyone started like really diving into her history and what she has done. What she hasn't done and it turns out the the leader of Harvard you know Harvard very very fancy School apparently uh, loves to plagiarize.

uh, that was kind of the hot news on her they were looking at like all of her recent pieces of work and everything. and no, no, she just loves plagiarism. Harvard's president quits after plagiarism anti-m anti-Semitism Fear so yeah, kind of a racist and then also a plagiarist. She's all the Ists this morning.

A story we've been tracking over the last 30 minutes: Claudian Gay stepping down as President of Harvard University Ending a brief and tumultuous tenor. Alan Garber The Uh Chief academic officer at Harvard has been tapped as the intim President. As for Gay, Uh, she said in a statement. it has become clear that it is in the best interests of Harvard for me to resign so our community can navigate this moment of extraordinary challenge.

Will they focus on the institution rather than any individual? Bloomberg's David West and joining us now with more on this developing story. David What can you tell us about what led to this? Well, we all know a lot of it. She's piece of Miss Gay, as well as the President of Penn and President of MIT were called before Congress to answer for some of what was going on in the campuses in the aftermath of that attack by Hamas on Israel And it has been sort of a firestorm for these three presidents to deal with exactly how you control Uh and influence discussion on the campus. There were also questions as you know, that developed over time about some of the work that President Gay had done for a dissertation for her PhD and allegations that she had improperly used sources that she did not identify.

Uh. Initially, the coration is what they call the A Corporation said there' been investigation and they had totally exonerated her. There was no problem, but now she said she stepped on and I take her at her word. At this point, at some point a leader becomes a distraction rather than part of the solution.
It sounds like she reached that conclusion with the corporation. She said in the statement, well, speaking of distractions, they did name an interim president. this is Alan Garber As we had mentioned, however, you did see a similar issue over at Upen as well. How hard is it to find talent to run these universities in the middle of such push back from donors, the public, and even lawmakers? At this point, these have always been hard jobs, but clearly shal they're much harder jobs than certainly reflection of the society more broadly where things have become so polarized and every issue becomes a major issue with personal attacks frankly.

but it certainly is not going to be easier to find and it takes enormous of particularly suggestion. Al Everybody and their brother thinks they get to run the universities now. I mean the Congress thinks they get a say, the donors think they get a say and that's before you get to the administration and the faculty. Well, I think maybe not Congress But donors like it's a fair argument.

So anyway, yeah, Finally, this Ding-dong stepping down can actually someone, uh, fact check that if she is getting paid 900k. Yep, still on the faculty? No way. Hor Harvard Gay pay Gay Gay pay Claud and gay to continue as Harvard faculty member likely to keep 900,000 ,000 salary claan gain earned n nearly 900,000 as a faculty of Arts and Science de in 2021, the recently resigned Harvard President Claudian Gay will still likely earn earn nearly $900,000 a year despite being numerous plagiarism allegations against Geo's resignation. No way, what what.

prior to being named President Gay Ear so this was before she was President 875 9,00 as a faculty of Arts and Science in 2021 824 and 2020. Uh, Gay predecessor was paid 1.3 million annually before his departure. No freaking way. No way.

Anyway, back to the other negative news of this morning: Total: US Debt hits 34 trillion for the first time in history, putting US debt up 100% The old double up since 2014 didn't even take us a decade since the debt sealing crisis ended in June Of 2023, total US debt is up nearly $3 trillion, adding pretty much 10% This debt balance is more than the value of the economies of China Germany Japan India and the UK combined. The US is now spending 2 billion per day on interest expense alone.

That's just the interest team that's brutal. Debt per capita is at a record high of 101,000 What's the long-term plan here? Um, basically to blow up the financial system if I really had to guess. So this happened yesterday, hitting new records that we probably don't want to be hitting uh with respect to short-term stuff of what's going on. Uh, there are two key reports coming out at 10: well, actually three.

So at 10:00 A.m. today, a half hour into the trading session, we get the ISM Manufacturing PMI and ISM Manufacturing prices. At the same time, we get the jolts job openings that all comes out at 10:00 A.m. ET Once again, 30 minutes into the trading day.

and then later on this afternoon, we get the Fomc meeting minutes. So this is not an Fomc meeting. this is the meeting minutes from the last Fomc meeting in December Just so everyone knows. obviously.

Uh, tomorrow we have some exciting stuff: Initial jobless claims ADP nonfarm employment change. Uh, the normal crude Actually, no usually crude is on Wednesday but it's just because of the holiday and then later on this week. Uh, it's the first Friday of a new month. so we get the unemployment report CPI out of Europe average Arly earnings.

All this good jazz. So for the remainder of the week, um, not the craziest macroeconomic events, but some important ones worthwhile to pay attention to. And just as a reminder, the key ones today come out at 10:00 a.m. and then 2:00 P.m.

Once again, ET Uh, we're not in earning season, but there are earnings. The major thing I want to call out is tomorrow before the Market opens. Walgreens I Think some of you might care about that, but in terms of these other ones, I Don't think anyone really cares about these. So uh, definitely not an earning season time of the year.

Here's a look at the equity curve once again, just for today: individually buying it, open, selling it Clos on the S&P 500 futures Market hasn't really gone anywhere. little bit up, little bit down, a little bit more up, a little bit sideways, a little bit down. kind of.

All the moves are seemingly canceling each other out, so nothing too crazy going on from a seasonality perspective with respect to just we in terms of historic data and all that good stuff for the remainder of the week. pretty much neutral both Thursday and Friday so everyone knows obviously. I Update the zero DTE strategy. this is posted during the day actually in the Discord so if you're more of a zero DT option Trader This might interest you.

but in the month of December it went 34 for 37 trades. Very very profitable in the month of December Excited about that and then I Also do some chart breakdown. The one I want to bring your attention to is my analysis on coin. Coinbase is showing a clear topping sign on the daily chart.

I'll be looking for more of a breather before a continuation. This was said when Coinbase was at 174 and I'm going to Pat myself on the back because none of you guys ever do it. What happened since then: not only did Coin Pace vomit from 174 to 156 in premarket trading, it's at 145. So if you're asking yourself, man, how did you avoid it, maybe just look at these basic chart breakdowns of the fact that it was clearly showing a topping sign.

so I just want to share that obviously I broke down some other ones of interest and I give you some random updates of what's going on with Piper Um, and obviously this was for the holiday season so the number was a little bit bloated. but total Piper and or I vomited in the car I Don't want to name names I Don't want to let you know if it was Piper I Don't want to let you know if it was me. but between the two of us, there was a total of 1.2 vomits in the car over the holiday season. the Spy down 0.56% the Qes down 1.7% Not necessarily the best start to the year bite of the Apple. So to start off the year bar Clays was an analyst that not only downgraded Apple but really the Magnificent 7 and then from there it's actually getting further downgrades because they think the demand for this upcoming calendar year 2024 will be low. and if people don't have as much discretionary income the chance of them bu buying a $1,000 plus do phone or a new iPad or a new computer or a new watch. kind of low.

So just they are basically bunch of fancy schmancy analysts are saying eh, we're not really that comfortable in like really thinking of high demand when it comes to Apple Uh, rough seas and this has to I don't know. the Red Sea is a mess right now. Oil is going all over the place. We'll talk on that in a second.

Bitcoin bash uh I Want to come back to this? Uh, we're going to come back to this whole Bitcoin bash thing actually how much we have time right now? we? we're crazy. We could do it. Bitcoin Soaring above $45,000 today for the first time since April 2022 and hanged yest session As the rally and crypto rolls over into the new Year, the entire space reaping the benefits of this bull run mining stocks. Bitcoin Min Crypto mining stocks saw huge gains last year as you can see and it all comes as Traders grow excited about both the possible approval of a Bitcoin ETF in the US as well as the potential of Bitcoin having this spring that people say could catalyze a price rally here to discuss Cnbc.com Crypt reporter is McKenzie Sigalos and T and Mckel welcome to both of you.

Um, McKenzie I'll just start with you and it is it. just the first year. Why so many fund flows and all the sudden we're off to the races today. What are you hearing? Yeah, a lot of it has to do with the fact that there's optimism this week whether or not some of these spot Bitcoin ETF applications will be approved.

The SEC has a deadline of January 10th to give Arc and 21 Shar 's uh, decision on whether to approve or disapprove their spot application and there's optimism that it will be a green light this time. You've got some of the biggest names throwing their hat in the ring. Black Rock June 15th since June 15th when Black Rock put an application in, we've seen an 80% spike in the price of Bitcoin Wow and a lot of that has to do with the fact that they think that institutional money will flood into the space once we see some approvals. That's incredible.

So they really do face near term deadlines here for us to know one way or the other. Ta What would you add? Yes, very obviously. I would add the geopolitical tension in the Red Sea I Think remember Bitcoin has been in kind of a downtrend for the last 3 weeks end. Did December on kind of a low note but that that uptrend is still kind of intact.
and remember So to Max's point, a lot of this rally is about the potential Bitcoin ETF But remember that before that ETF narrative came into play in June of last year it was the US uh Regional banking crisis in Uh here in the US that was the big Catalyst March 30. You know we were really seeing Bitcoin Rise From the Ashes at the beginning of last year and that was its first. sort of 30% Spike Two questions McKenzie One is are there Bitcoin ETFs in other countries around the world, What do they own? Do they actually own Bitcoin Do they own some Futures What do they own? Well that would be different and how have they worked in Canada We have a spot Bitcoin ETF You know one of the reasons why people think that this is going to be a sell the news event is because the the flows uh with that ETF haven't been as anticipated and I think that that's one of the biggest Uh narratives that we've seen this huge price run up going into this event. But think back to December 2017.

There was a lot of optimism around a Futures uh Bitcoin ETF and that ended up being a negative Catalyst for the space even Bernstein that uh deems a spot Bitcoin ETF as being the the greatest Financial pipeline ever built between traditional financial markets and the crypto ecosystem. Thinks that there will be a you know that the market will take a pause once these uh spot ETFs are approved. While people will wait to see if the flows build momentum, when you say spot ETF, you mean they are actually going to own Bitcoin not Futures And that's what's so different about this. because it would mean that people don't have to go to an exchange to custody Bitcoin Instead, you know Black Rock Fidelity would work with coinbase to custody the Bitcoin and then you have a very you know familiar product that you can buy into the space with and that's why people believe that it will be game changers.

What is this? What is this Having It sounds like the Rapture in the Bible What? What is it? It's a little in the weeds. I'm not going to go too far down, but this is a technical event that happens about every four years and this is built into the code for being Basically cuts the reward that the miners get in half and that is all designed to create a sort of um, scarcity effect on the supply. So I think that that supply and d uh, supply and demand Dynamic was going to create fewer Bitcoin Yeah, and I think that's something you're really going to see in play. This year we have all of these big Catalysts log we shot I Don't know Who is you wonder about the miners who've had this big runup and yet they're about to face this having of their rewards.
And like you know, ironically, you're seeing this huge price run up in these mining stocks Marathon Digital, uh and Riot both up more than 10% today. and then this cutting of issuance makes the space far more competitive. You know one other point that I'll make though. and and Tonai I was speaking to this.

Typically we see a run up in price every four years pegged to this Market making event known as the having. Last time around, the price of Bitcoin spiked more than 560. So you these two major events for the crypto ecosystem that are are poised to potentially help bring that price back up. Well, may your having be joyous wanted to go through that.

Obviously this was filmed last night before some of the craziness happened in the world of crypto, you could see around 7 this morning there was a big big vomit Bitcoin going from 45k to as low as 405,000 literally dropping $5,000 in about 2 hours. Uh, coinbase getting slaughtered. This morning you have Ethereum dropping from about 2400 to as low as 2100. You have salana dropping from 109 to as low as 85 salana getting destroyed.

and that was all because of some reports this morning related to some potentially negative news with the Bit spot Bitcoin ETF approval with the SEC So I want to get into that but I also will'll do that right after market. open but not really. Do want to give you like the hard news related to it like the hard fact news. uh but I also want to put on my tinfoil hat and get into conspiracy stuff about what might be happening on the political scene.

uh with really I'm talking about uh Elizabeth Warren and then also Gary Gendler so Elizabeth Warren the Senator Gary Gendler the SEC chairman? uh so I don't know we'll do that around 10 10 about like I want to watch those the Jolt Shop report, the Ism PMI and prices coming out. So right after that, uh, make sure your tinf foil hat is ready cuz I Want to fully break down in its entirety the current Crypto news as of this morning. Uh, flush with franchises Hollywood is betting big on sequels? Oh yeah, this upcoming year, a ton of remakes apparently. Kung Fu Panda 4 Transformers one uh I Think they're making a ton of new movies, so maybe it's good for the box office.

So at 10:30 yesterday there was a uh, excuse me, there was a bearish signal and I have all the proof right here right here. um January 2nd at 10:34 right here zero DTS five out of five bearish signal uh spy call Credit spread a Q call Credit spread I give you the exact levels and also I called out a three unit multiplier. So obviously this is a bit of a typon.

That's exactly why I provide not only photos for evidence but just in case I have a weird typo. Uh, so right here, uh call Credit spread call Credit spread 3x multiplier and then the base unit for this, you would have had the capital requirement to play all six, three and three. You would have needed $495 in capital and obviously you can like you. If you have five grand, you could have played 10 of these, but the base unit would have been $495 to play all six and you would have had a return of 105 and obviously all six would have hit for me personally.

I ended up playing SPX and then I ended up playing a whole another SPX And just for the point of proof, I' like share all my trades. you could see the exact time I want to be as transparent as I humanly can be. So paying attention to that right after that report comes out.

I'm then going to make some trades that I'll be putting in the Discord I'm going to be selling some premium on the day, and I'm going to be sharing with the Discord the signal on the day yesterday it crushed. It was five out of five. Bearish. Absolutely crushed it.
Uh, made a decent amount of money. 100% return $500 units for a return of $100 Uh, it got a little questionable there, but hey, the at the end of the day the math ended up working out so not going to complain whatsoever. Uh, so we'll be doing that right after 10 and then from there. I Want to break down everything going on in the world of Crypto? So we just listened to the CNBC clip about hey, how crypto looks so great and they were talking about how crypto.

hey, as we're talking, it's trending at 45k. Well, if you notice we were at 45k up until around 6:00 a.m. this morning and then from there to about 7:15 So just over an hour, there was a $5,000 drop in Bitcoin There was a considerable $400 drop in Ethereum. There was an even larger percentage drop in salana going from 109 to all the way down to 86.

Things got brutal. There was allegedly over $100 million liquidated just from all these leverage Longs things got crazy. So I want to break down why there was a bit of a negative bearish scare in the world of Crypto around 7: A.m. this morning.

and it has to relate to obviously One analyst who before this no one even knew was basically sharing their opinion that they don't think that the spot Bitcoin ETF is going to be approved and the reasoning for it is basically political saying hey, there's no, uh, like political drive to get this approved right now so it'll be interesting especially cuz when you like hear these politicians. Yeah, there's uh, what's her name Senator Lumis I believe of Wyoming she's all about it. She loves Bitcoin wants us to pass. but then we have other other Senators like Senator Elizabeth Warren who for whatever reason seemingly hates crypto and keeps telling you that apparently all crime in the world is funded by it and yada yada yada And she distorts facts.

She makes up facts like it's just whenever it comes to Warren Speaking on Crypto, Senator Elizabeth Warren It's just all it is. more falsehoods and Hal truths than anything else. She's clearly clearly just has a stick up her ass when it comes to the world of crypto, doesn't want it approved and she is creating a completely false Nar narrative about what's going on. And really, that inherently connects back to Gary Gendler because Gary Gendler and Elizabeth Warren are great buddies and then obviously Gary Gensler is the lead of the SEC so he's kind of in charge of uh, either approving or not approving the spot Bitcoin ETF And whether he thinks it's secure or not secure, whether he thinks or he's not, protecting investors doesn't really matter.

They kind of already shot themselves in the foot with a Bitcoin Futures ETF already being approved in excess of a year ago. Um, so they kind of screwed the pooch on that one. So anyway, we're going to be talking about that right after the 10: A.m. reports come out I Want to break down everything going on in Crypto and I suppose while we're waiting for that to happen.
um, false theories just like her claim to ancestry folks. whether you do or don't like Elizabeth Worm whether you do or don't like Trump I Get it? It's to the point of absurdity that you either have to laugh at it because if you don't you're going to cry to realize that the people who are leading our nation are all of them left right in the middle. A lot of these people who are allegedly I have to say that because I don't want to get sued to Kingdom Come Insider Traders and that's a just a fancy way to say that they're basically pieces of. He's leaving Congress in February so he has one more month sitting number two. Republican Congressman Tenee, who was up 122% this year Democrat Senator Dick Blumenthal Dick BL Also on the list of lawmakers who destroyed the market this year, he was up 68% What about the wolf of Washington The wolf? She came in 41 points above the S&P 500 this year Well Done n I mean Paulie Next is the man who really believes Biden talked to Hunter's business clients about the weather the whole time Dan Goldman was up 53% this year.

Just some of the best Traders ever. And then we have Republican Congressman Dan Khaw who beat the market by Allans by about 13 points. Our lawmakers dude Republicans need to step it up Republicans only they actually underperformed Democrats overperform to the tune is 7% while you have the Republicans underperforming to the tune of about 6% yo Republicans need to step up their insider trading game. Those are just abysmal.

Uh, no. the Spy definitely beat me Just like a redheaded stepchild just sna my neck left me on the ground.

Are they factored into the street beats AI platform? Yeah. so on streetbeat, it's just that's just mimicking the aggregate move in Congress So it's not. It's not like tracking a singular politician, it's tracking them in Aggregate And yet that still beat the overall. Market Um, that's the one that I'm in on street be.
Why is Bitcoin down at the moment? Um I will be going over the exact details of that in about like 10 minutes. We're just waiting for some of these 10: A.m. reports to come out. So right after those reports come out, I'll give you the details but the Tldr is there was an analyst who came out and said hey, uh I don't think the spot Bitcoin ETF is going to get approved and then that causes some people to get worried.

So they sold their position and then that caused it to go down a bit more. and then that came down. enough that that caused liquidations on these like levered accounts and then the levered accounts ended up selling even more because they got margin called and like it was kind of a a negative f. self-fulfilling prophecy like selling baguette selling uh I guess bot selling? uh I don't there's I I guess Really the best way for me to summarize all that is.

there's no actual news people are reacting to the anticipation. They're like, well, maybe that analyst knows something we don't know like that type of a deal. It's not like there was an official announcement yet. Um, and in fact, I think we're still waiting about a week from today to get an official announcement.

How's oil? Oil is chilling in the low 7s right now? I Mean we get a crude oil inventory report tomorrow. But right now the main thing is the Red Sea What's going on with Iran What's going on with Houthi? What's going on with all that? Um, but in the US over the past year, like the Us as a country, we've actually really upped our oil production. Probably a political play because obviously Biden knows he has a better chance of getting reelected If prices are cheaper, one thing to one way to make prices cheaper is to make a bunch of oil. Uh, not only does it potentially help your exports, we're actually like if we do do this, we're going to be a big exporter of oil.

But on top of it, it'll be relatively uh, we can like, basically flood the market and bring down gas prices and other things related to petroleum. Um, so that's partially an argument of why we really picked up our oil production last year. Uh, but oil right now chilling in the low 7s? The main storyline that I'm following on oil is the Strategic Petroleum Reserve the Spr which Uh, for about a year now two years now, the Biden Administration has been saying that as when it's below 70, they're going to start refilling it because during the midterm elections in 2022, the administration decided to basically gut the Spr. They flooded the US market with our own oil Reserve to bring gas prices down just so they thought it would give the Democrats a better chance in the election cycle.

Um, you could actually argue that it worked to a certain degree. But then ever since they stopped doing that because our reserves like really started to dwindle, we were below like the Vietnam era like it. It actually our oil reserves got so low that you had some military strategist saying it was becoming like a national security thre of how much lack of oil we had. Um, so ever since then the Biden Administration was all like hey yeah, no like we'll kind of do something about this and thus far they haven't and that was about a year and a half ago.
Uh, roughly. So it'll be interesting to see how that plays out. I I'm invested in Oxy I Just kind of wanted to like load up with Warren Buffett I Thought it was interesting that he kept buying ocidental over and over and over again. So that's in my long-term account has not panned out for me at all.

I'm in around 68 and the last time I checked it was down in excess of $10 from that Mark So not good at all. That's like a 16% drop. Um, so I'm still in it, but we'll see. Matt I Sent you a video on X yesterday about buying cheap cat food.

Profit? Do you have them? Yeah, Us: ISM Manufacturing PMI 47.4 The estimate was 47.1 Uh, what about the jolts? What about the jolts market popping on that 10 A.m. report? And that's exactly why I wanted to wait for 10 a.m. to see how some of this stuff actually shakes out. The Uh New Year's drag continues to bedevil the Bulls This morning, we got the indexes lower across the board. for a moment there all sectors were red, yields a bit elevated geopolitics in focus, and the vixs almost back to 14. We are 30 minutes into the trading session here. Three big movers were watching today: Fintech Company Sofi Under Pressure KBW downgrading that name to a cell in evaluation call their new price Target implies 35% downside ahead those shares down about 11.4% right now Outback Steakhous owner Bloomen Brands reached a deal with activist investor Starboard Value, adding two members to its board more on activist news at a different name Disney Later this hour and Charles Schwab shares moving lower as well.

the company downgraded to from Goldman Sachs The Firm saying us: November Job opening 9 million estimate 8 That's why there was initial pop because the economy was weaker than expected and that's a good thing when you're JM with Rick Santelli morning Rick yo Rick Good morning Carl Yes, our November read on job openings and labor turnover expected to be around 8, 800,000 is very close to expectations 8,790 th000 and that represents the best level actually because it's a bit of an uptick from Uh oh. Rearview Mirror had a big revision I Stand corrected last month's 8,733 th000 leaped up to 8,8 8, 52,000 which makes 8,790 the current read. the lightest read, going back, well to March of 21. Let's call it a little more than two and a half years all right now.
the Isms, uh, the Pmis from ISM and believe me, my kingdom. For a 50, everything continues to be below 50. So ISM Manufacturing most likely Manufacturing in a recession. Although some of the numbers in areas have improved 47 7.4 it's a bit better than expectations, and it's a bit better than 46.7 in the rearview mirror.

However, it's still the 14th, 14, the 14th number under 50 Prices paid 45.2 that's the eighth month under 50 in a row 48.1 unemployment And even though that is better than the rearview mirror better than expectations, it's still it's still third number in a row under 50, and it represents eight out of 12 under 50. Now let's go to the new Orders component 47.1 that is less than expectations, less than the rearview mirror and represents get this: the 16th number in a row. 16th month in a row under 50. The last time it was 50 or higher was August of 22.

So we see that interest rates after reaching 4% in a 10year, has now dropped back down to 396 at Is is trying to Divine the difference between Fed Easings how many and a slowing of the US economy lesie. Back to you thank you, the 10-year yield climbing back above 4% today although currently trading slightly below that threshold as investors look for new Clues from the FED ahead about rate cuts and they'll get some when minutes from the latest Fed meeting gets released in less than 4 hours from now. Steve Lean joins us from Wasington come out at 2m hey Leslie Richmond Fed President Tom Barkin this morning, perhaps giving a preview of what the minutes might say. Yes, C cuts are indeed penciled in, but no, they're not guaranteed and may not come as quickly or as extensively as markets expect.

Uh, Barkin Saying the soft Landing is increasingly conceivable, he sees the case for it. But it's not inevitable. There's there's a potential for rate hikes. it remains on the table, and cuts are going to depend on what happens with the inflation data and inflation easing.

Talk about the date in just a second. He also said that weer demand, weaker demand, or more fed hikes may be needed to bring down inflation and the recent decline in yields along with the rise in the stock market could stimulate demand. Now, as for the markets, they trade with a 71% probability of a March cut and priced in a quarter meetings. After that, the January 25 contract look at that six full Cuts baked in with a current yield of 384 that compares to the average Fed official three rate cuts into their forecast like Barkin Most offici have tried to lean against the Market's aggressive rate pricing, but not had much luck.
The risk for the market today is that minutes offer some convincing evidence that there's more uncertainty than the market has priced in. And uh, guys. I Think the quit rate did uh come down. That's also sort of an easing of the of the labor market along with that Prices Paid component or Prices index inside the Ism.

Also, some welcome inflationary news in there. Absolutely. Um, Although in terms of kind of the minutes today, what do you think is the potential or possibility that they really, really push back, um, in a bigger way than the perhaps the market expects on the notion that there is an imminent rate cut? Well, it's interesting sometimes. Leslie Uh, the market hears something and doesn't react to it until maybe it sees it in black and white.

Remember, we've had a bunch of Fed speakers on we had John Williams on RR other Fed officials on RR Austin Gby. A lot of them have pushed back against this notion. whether or not it appearing there in the minute, some collective uh uh fashion causes the market to sit up a little straighter and take notice. You can never know.

But I Just don't expect these rate These minutes to say rate Cuts coming in March and six are right written down in ink I Don't think that's going to be the tenor of those minutes I Think it's going to be more like Hey We're thinking about this. It's a possibility. we need to be very careful here. Always speaking in uh, statistical likelihoods.

Citadel's Wellington fund generated 15.3% returns according to a person familiar with the figures. A seate person who asked not to be named shared de Shaw's composite fund results as well. The that firm's largest multistat fund posted gains of 99.6% in 20.

so I'm literally just waiting I have not done anything in my own options account today. Uh, and some days they going to be like that. Some days there's just not much going on so there's nothing really you could do. Um, some days are just busts of days and that's okay.

Salana is actually now making a comeback and then if you look at Bitcoin also attempting to bounce but like out of nowhere its gains were just dude that crazy crazy. Is this about to break down? I'm just waiting to see if we break down because if it does break down, I might throw on a bit of a bearish position and then we could go over the crypto news. uh, looks like it might be heading that way. Looks like it might be heading that way.

Oh, what are we doing? You guys think this is going to break down? uh, it kind of faked us out for a second there. but this is looking I mean what I'm looking at is this EMA the five, the 10, the 30 all looking pretty red. Uh, the market internals neutral favoring the Bears this is looking a little bit spicy. a little bit spicy.

um uh uh uh. Volatility is starting to pick up a little bit. Let me take some screenshots of this. It's about to go bearish.
