DISCLOSURE:
I have a beneficial long position in the shares of AMC & GME either through stock ownership, options, or other derivatives.

Isn't buying the nft hype says. They're exclusionary and encourage profiteering. The company company behind the widely popular video game minecraft has announced it won't be entering into the game in a statement on wednesday and if these are unique digital assets that often take the form of digital artwork. I have to be honest.

I personally believe that nfts do naturally fit in the world of gaming. But i'm also not a gamer and people who do identify as gamers. I would say a high majority of them agree with minecraft's statement of they don't want nfts. I would love to hear your thoughts especially if you're a gamer on nfts and games.

And if you identify as a gamer. I'm assuming that you think about this with a little bit of a negative sentiment. I truly want to understand but to me nfts are a natural fit for games. Which is why i think particularly gamestop's nft marketplace is really really smart.

But who knows maybe i'm missing something so let me know in a comment.

I don't mind NFT's in their current form. They aren't trying to hide anything or manipulating you using professional psychological tactics unlike the current free to play pay to win models that have taken gaming by storm as of late. NFT's are a welcome addition imo and so long as they don't come into regular games as anything more than cosmetics my opinion will stay the same. If it starts giving stats inside of traditional games then I will be here holding my pitch fork and torch.

I play games because they're fun. If I wanted to try and get money, I'd do stuff like video making or streaming gaming content. NFTs have no place in games because they add zero value to what games actually are. Games are about playing something enjoyable, not participating in an even worse version of crypto.

Good on Minecraft. No video games should have NFT’s. You can’t use an NFT in different games or even the same game from different generations or platforms. The only NFT I’ve seen in a game was a bland grey helmet with a number on it. Please stop saying games can use NFT’s. I don’t want to lose respect for you.

Stop adding crap to gaming, its hard enough to find any decent games and to pay $60+ dollars while being told to buy something else inside the game like a hostage.

If it can be used to prevent botting and item duplication I am all for it.

I am a gamer and NFTs are retarded. However, in todays world it makes sense. To make money with NFTs all you gotta do is find a bigger idiot than yourself to give you more money than you paid. It's perfect.

gamer here. when i play a video game, i dont want to worry about the real world (economics included). microtransactions such as skins, gacha, and play to earn crypto / NFT ruins the immersion and escapism factor of video games. playing a video game and having real world money transactions is like going on vacation to puerto rico and getting phone calls from your boss and reading work emails while at the beach

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Finkin79 says:

NFT's in games just add another route of squeezing money out of players. Another layer of micro transactions in games you've already payed money for. It's the same level of stupid as paying 1m for a digital monkey jpeg. Complete misuse of the technology.
