X Formerly known as Twitter Will begin charging new users a dollar a year to access key features including the ability to tweet and retweet. I Assume it's being pitched as a mechanism to stop Bots And there are a lot of bots. so I Guess my question to you is do you think that's reasonable I would assume they're attempting to fight Bots But my next question is would you pay a dollar a year to use Twitter AKA X Let me know.

I would say just do 1c a year
One reason I think they would charge is dollar a year may be to keep track of who is who. If your forced to pay with a credit card or identifying form of payment then they know who is behind each account. The dollar likely means nothing to them but knowing the person behind each account would be very helpful not just with identifying bots but also with who is behind the spread of misinformation and other forms of abuse often found on an anonymous platform.
