Thank you What happened? Foreign laughs. Oh brother. A home brother a brother home brother. Good morning, Good morning, good morning.

Welcome back to the Matt Core show where I'm at your cores and our neighbor is the show. We'll go with that one today. I Hope you're having a great great day I Hope you're having a great morning, afternoon, evening night, whatever time it is for you I Hope you're having a solid one I Hope you had a fantastic weekend I I kind of did and I kind of didn't I kind of did and I kind of didn't I had. um, we'll say very high highs and very low lows this weekend.

Uh, it was one of those weekends. so remarkable in both directions. But I have to admit a jarring weekend to say the least. I Went into this weekend thinking that American Airlines was the worst airline company in the world I did when I got off the stream on Friday when we wrapped up the show when I was getting ready to fly down to the Sunshine State of Florida my mindset was American Airlines is the worst and once in a while your preconceptions of the world, your conceptions, and your post-conceptions of the world all get tested emotionally.

It can feel as if you get blindsided and that's exactly what happened to me. I Concluded this show on Friday We were all crushing it. You had a good time I had a good time and we probably all assume that American is the worst. And then there I was attempting to get on a flight with United And folks I Wish this story was fictitious I Wish this was all a giant ruse I Wish I was just making it up for the point of this story.

but in fact, it is all real children. So sit down. We have a little bit of a story time before we get rocking today. So I decided to use the Newark Airport to fly down to Florida and the flight was supposed to depart at 4 35.

Boarding's around four I get there around 3, 3, 30. I have TSA pre-check I fly through it. Yeah, whatever. The TS agent had a little bit of attitude, but that's what TSA agents always do so let's that's that.

doesn't even matter for this story. So we're there. I'm waiting. We're supposed to board at four, it's 403 405.

Something's a little off. You know they have those big screens behind the gate agents and then everything everyone's checking off or they're like we at the right gate and like yep, yep, yep, yep, five minutes go by pass boarding. they're not really saying anything. They finally come on the microphone and they say folks, we're not boarding, we're We're just not going to do it.

You need to Pilot And there's no pilot here and everyone's like what's up, They're like in fact, your pilot is still in the air and they're not scheduled to be here till 6 30.. Obviously people are a little bit disgruntled by the fact that we're gonna like, can't get kicked down about two, two and a half hours we're supposed to vote at four. now we're gonna board at 6 30 assuming that the Pilot's gonna land at 6 30 and then they're rushed to the gate. so maybe we'll take off at seven.
Whatever. I Don't know. United has been having issues. A lot of airlines have been having issues and at that point that's when anger hit.

I Hate when I perceive that my time is being wasted, especially when that's not weather that's not a mechanical issue that is on. United If you're a multi-billion dollar company and you just can't do reasonable planning, like reasonable. Logistics I Don't know. I Think everyone on the flight this is just my opinion, but when it's the company's own fault I Believe everyone should be 100 refunded.

I Get it Whether happens I Get it. Mechanical issues happen. but when it's your own lack of planning and you still have the balls to charge everyone two, three, four, five hundred dollars I Think everyone deserves a refund. So anyway, at first people are mad and like you know to try to appease the masses.

They put out like a little cart of those little baby Waters and some bags of popcorn and they're like sorry for ruining it and it was like good. So anyway I do what? I do best? Um, bought a bag of Cheez-Its went to the bar and just started crushing it and then I come back at 6 30 and everyone's like what's going on and they're like yeah, no, we're gonna board I'm like okay, whatever. there's a delay two and a half hours if things could be worse. but hey, we're gonna get out of here fine I was trying to rush I had like kind of a dinner with some people down in Florida at seven and I'm like dude I'm gonna miss it but I'm sorry we could go out to the bar after like we'll hang out all day Saturday No worries Well Turns out it can get worse.

It turns out in fact, it could get way worse. So everyone boards at 6 30. we're supposed to talk take off at seven something like that 7 15. Maybe we pull over it at like 6 45 I don't know.

A little bit of it is a blur in my mind right now simply because of the fog of how much anger I still have towards United So I might be off by about 15 20 minutes here there. but we're boarding around seven seven thirty and everything's looking good. Pilot comes on. actually we're waiting around.

Pilot comes on. he's like ah so I'm here. but the steward crew whatever that group as a mass would be called, they've now hit their work. Max So the overwork limit so we have to wait for a whole new group of stewards to come.

So we were waiting for the pilot No. Pilots The stewards were there the whole time. Now that the pilots there, the stewards have been overworked. so we have to wait for a new crew of them.

So they come on. They're like hey, but good news they're in terminal C They're here. We're in a they're going to be here lickety-splickety We wait a half hour. If you've ever been to any new airport in the world, especially.

Newport Newark You know it doesn't take a half hour for them to Traverse the whole thing. but anyway, we wait for a half hour. Everyone's kind of sitting around thinking like what's going on you just told us they would come and I don't know. it was a little awkwardly long I went up to the cockpit and I was like hey, quick question I have a work thing should I just be going to another airline like I can't wait here and I felt bad for the pilots.
it wasn't theirs. they're like dude. we were actually sitting in Norfolk for like seven hours. They weren't telling us what was going on so even the pilots were mad at like whatever their Logistics system was.

So I kind of like, really felt bad for these people because everyone's taking out their anger on them. In these parts, they're like dude. We were supposed to be done like literally eight hours ago today. so we're as upset as everyone else.

So anyway, the new stewards come. It's now at this point, like eight, Eight fifteen. So we've been sitting there for about 30 45 minutes on the plane and the new stewards come. Everyone gives them a little round of applause and we're like dude, we're gonna go.

we're gonna make it. You know it's been a rough start, but we're gonna finally take off. The pilot comes on and he's like folks, we're 17th in line to take off. Which means a while.

Like if you are the 17th in line to take off at an airport I mean each one What? Five, Ten minutes like you're doing some math and you're like, oh, this isn't going to be quick, then they come back on. Update: We're 20th in line I was like you just told us you were 17th in line what's going on But anyway, there's nothing we could do about it. At this point it's like almost nine and we're getting close to the front of the line. We're about to take off.

We were 20s. we're about to go. Pilot comes on. Everyone is under the assumption that he's saying, you know what team it's been a long wait, we're about to take off.

Sit back. enjoy. it'll be a-okay Instead he comes on and says our route has not been approved. so we were waiting in line that whole time.

Our the flight from New York all the way down to Florida apparently not approved. So not only do we go to the back of the line, but we're not even in the line because our route's not approved and everyone's like what? So at this point it's 9, 30, 9, 45 and we're just sitting on the tarmac. We've been sitting on the tarmac since like 7, 7, 15, 7, 30. and now we're all just we're not even in a line.

We're just waiting for this route to get approved. Another thing that just seems to be United's fault we're like, dude, plan the route I don't know I'm not a pilot, but I'm pretty sure that's how these systems should work. So we finally wait. And we're waiting.

And we're waiting. We're waiting. Route finally approved. We go back in line and we take off.

At this point, it's 10, 30, 10 45 Everyone boarded the plane. The original flight was supposed to be boarded at four take off at 4 30. we boarded the flight somewhere between like 6 45, 7, 15. everyone's been there since 7 15, 7, 30.
we were on that tarmac for three hours about. and the craziest thing was very early on when we were waiting for that second group of stewards to come, you're allowed to get off. Some people just said, you know what? I'm not dealing with this and they left. Um, but as soon as we started waiting, like the majority of those three hours of waiting, so like you had about a half hour where you could actually get off, but then the next two and a half hours it was locked.

No one was allowed off the plane like half the plane was like dude, we've had enough of this. please just let us go. They would not open the door for anyone. No one could leave, everyone's stuck and honestly I didn't think about it until like beforehand.

If I just assumed I could get off I think mentally I would have been fine, but the fact that it was like publicly stated that no one's leaving, tensions were getting high, tensions were getting high, but whatever as a as a unit to all my fellow United flyers on that flight if you're listening right now we made it through it and we finally take off at like 10 30, 10, 45. plane takes off and I think to myself this has been horrible, but life could be way worse. First world problems. This is it.

You survived it. You're going to be a little tired, you're going to be a little groggy, but it's really not that big of an issue. and I thought my bad luck I thought my negative streak was gonna end there and I was wrong. Of course, as the world would have it, when you think you're done with your negative Karma and you think you're done with your stroke of bad luck, there's always one more final punch.

after getting your face beaten in by the universe, there's one final uppercut that puts you on the mat. You just your face gets beat in metaphorically, sometimes literally. In this case, it was all figurative. But there's that one final part that's just gonna end you for me.

It happened about 45 minutes into the flight. 45 minutes into the flight, everyone's still perturbed. so they're just basically giving away all the food and drinks. They're not charging anyone like the steward crew.

they're like dude, we're just trying to get to Florida what do you want? They're coming through with the carts, blah blah blah. this that the other thing the cart comes down to me and they're like, what do you want I was like I would love a Diet Coke I'm not much of a soda drinker, but whatever. it seemed like my world was getting upended. Anyway, might as well drink some soda I'm sitting on the aisle.

There's a person on the window. no one in the middle. The person on the window is like, hey, can I have some food. The lady's like, yeah, those little snack box things I grabbed the snack box I reach over to give it to him and in my effort to give it to him I dump the entire cup of soda and ice all over myself.
So now six, seven, eight hours have passed. everyone's mad I know I'm not gonna get to the place I need to get to until 2 A.M I was supposed to be there at seven eight pm and the final Fu from the universe was knocking a full soda cup with ice water all over myself and the steward looked me in the eye and you could she had that look of like uh oh like this kid's going over the edge like this kid is about to lose his mind and I just sat there like in the ice soda and it it was the whole thing. It was half a can of soda. there is ice all over me, there's soda.

so now I'm just sticky and Frozen and I've already been so incredibly mad. there's there's nothing else you can do at that point besides just laugh like I just sat there I was like of course of course this has to happen but eventually obviously I made it to Florida I think I got to my hotel at like two in the morning and what's weird about it is like the next day I got up and I was like you know what? Matt you need to calm down So I was walking on the the beautiful beaches of Florida and I decided to call United to just see what's going on to see I don't know like you get your money back like I feel like there's some sort of like when it's their logistic issues I assume they give you your money back and I don't know if any of you have gone through this process before you have there's no line to call like they're like, oh, just go to the website and fill it out and maybe we'll give you some of your money I Don't understand how that's legal if an airline is the cause of your problem people. Miss Connecting flights people are missing rehearsal dinners I Thought I had a bad. There were two or three women on this plane who had kids that I would assume were below six months so they were just sitting there for hours trying to take care of a kid who's just screaming and honestly, I didn't even blame the infants I looked at him I was like dude I'm screaming too like I'm on your side like I I just didn't get it.

And when it's all their logistical problems no weather, no mechanical, it's all their piss-poor planning. Not only should they refund it, but like they should read the aspect of the trip that you're now missing. like whether it's your hotel, the laundry list of things that are going on. I Think the airline should be legally responsible for it.

so if you're a little late for class, it's all right. I've had a rough weekend too, so I'm not even going to give you demerit this time around, but it was jarring for me I Went into this weekend thinking American Airlines was the worst Airline and now I'm starting to get this sneaky suspicion that United it might be the worst Airline And what's kind of funny is I'm sure in here you guys have horrible email or horrible experiences with all these so you're probably like no, Spirits are worse, no Delta is the worst. So or Southwest is worse. we're all just probably is.
Is it just all Airlines Is that the secret to the universe around us? Is it truly just airlines are the worst companies? Is that what the secret is? Should we just perpetually be betting against Airlines a hundred percent of the time? Um I think I Think that's where I'm at in my thesis. Maybe it's just not one. Maybe we just need to talk about the industry as a whole. just Airlines suck.

Maybe this is maybe this is the real thing that we need to do is just be successful enough at trading that we could always just fly private so we never have to deal with this. Um I have 600 000 miles with Ual over the last 25 years. Can't leave them until I use them I feel for you man I have Airline points with them as well like it's just Delta's worse I'm trying to think if I've ever had a negative experience with Delta I don't think so personally. I know a lot of people have horrible experiences with uh, the budget Airlines like spirit and Frontier and oddly enough, I've flown those quite a few times and I've never ever had a negative experience and I know almost everyone does.

I've been really fortunate with like Frontier and spirit Um, prior to this I never had the biggest issue with knighted just like the normal stuff. I've had much bigger issues with American um and they're still pretty awful. but I'm now just coming around to this idea that I think they're just all that I think they're all just absolutely horrible. So that's where we are.

That's where we're at currently. So that was my weekend, but fortunately the crew I met up with uh on Saturday was awesome. uh, actually talked a lot about like trading business stuff and then we I don't know if you guys are UFC MMA fans. We watched the Poirier uh gaichi fight and I was upset I really really wanted Poirier to win I Don't think I'm letting the cat out of the bag I don't think I'm like sharing any spoilers here, but uh, he got his face kicked in real hard.

like that wasn't just like oh, it was a submission and he's fine. like dude, that guy's brain bounced off the opposite side of his head and then went to the other side. He got kicked in to the astral plane. That was bad.

It was bad. It was super bad. But what was funny before that was Lewis Uh, who just always gives the best post-fight commentary in the entire world Lewis gives the best post-fight commentary and if you missed that fight, he won it within seconds just throwing in. me throw throwing any and he just dropped the dude so that was a pretty good fight.

I forget he was fighting that Brazilian guy I always forget his name but that's where we're at. So we saw some cool fights and then I had to get up at 4am to catch my flight back. and actually luckily enough the flight was really easy on the way back. which is starting to get me to believe that the way to fly in the current state of the airline industry is take to take the earliest flights possible.
and my reasoning for that is because at the start of the day uh obviously when you have mess-ups, they compound for the rest of the day until flight stops. So like you're a little mess up at the morning leads to a little delay which is a bigger delay and then a bigger like. things get messed up when like obviously connecting flights. Pilots There was all that.

So my newest idea is that if I'm Gonna Fly I feel like I should try to take the first of the second Flight of the day just because there's the least chance of mess-ups because things haven't compounded yet. So that was my big takeaway from the weekend is just fly early now. So um I'll let you know how my idea goes with all that the 2AM play. um I Feel like if you're going around like six or seven I think it should still be pretty solid.

like I think six or seven things haven't like messed up yet? but that's my my big brain idea from over the weekend. But on that note, the weekend has concluded. So it's time to talk about the old stock market. The final trading Day of July Final Trading Day of July I Hope you folks are ready because the Spy the NASDAQ especially now.

everything is very very high and it makes you wonder: is it time for it to turn over or the Bears gonna start loading up and pushing down or the Bears going to load up and are they going to be wrong and it's going to rip their faces off and we're going to keep going higher? Obviously you have to stay tuned to figure out the answer to that particular Cliffhanger But right now, price actions still tell me up. I Get it? I Get everything's overbought I Fully understand that from a fundamental standpoint, we are very, very high right now. but if price action is still going up, price action's still going up. So for me, looking at the larger and medium time frame, looking at some of the internals, the Market's strong right now.

So unless we like break below and close below a previous close. I I Don't really see much in switching up my own game plan. Speaking of game plan, there's a couple things that I want to get into since we are concluding a month and basically I'm thinking of this as like the start of August Uh, obviously last month for me. I like to do different styles, different trading things per month so July was clearly degenerate options I'm in a weird way happy it happened because it was fun.

It was high flying, but going into this next month I want to switch it up just to give the content a new flavor but on top of it just to give you a little bit of a reflection on my own mental state. That stuff kind of sucked when I was like going up or down 50 75 100K a day. My mental health was not good by any means. There are certain days when I made 50 7, 500k and it was awesome.
Then the days that I lost that amount absolutely sucked. It wasn't a sustainable trading methodology my mental health would like. if you do that for a year or two I think you'd just be taking decades off your life. So I think it was really fun to do.

uh and maybe I come back to it in the future, but that will not be continuing for the month of August I Refer to this a little bit on Friday with all of you of like what should I be doing and I've kind of narrowed it down to two things and it made me come up with another idea. so one: I'm either going to be trading my own Futures account and do a little bit more systematic stuff and talk to you guys about strategies and the math between entries exits and we could track the performance daily weekly and then I've never done it before and I tweeted this out yesterday was what's your favorite prop account because I know some people are getting a bit more into the world of prop account trading and seeing if they can pass the challenge I've never done it before so it seems like a cool Challenge and maybe I like it. Maybe I don't but just seems like something good to learn about. I've never traded a prop account so I'm thinking about maybe doing that for the month of August um and then also the fact that I believe you could do it with future so it's still highly leveraged so it's degeneracy.

just degeneracy kind of in a different market. and then that kind of prompt an idea in my head of I don't know if I want to let the cat out of the bag yet I don't know if I want to lift a cat out of the bag yet. Okay, remind me because I need to get some things set up but I think there's something we could really do that would be cool as a community. So I guess before we do that I need to make sure which prop account will work the best.

So Speaking of that, if any of you in here have experience with trading prop accounts, who is your favorite one? Um, show me your favorite prop account. so I can go make an account with them. and I'm just going to kind of take your word for it and see how it all really goes there. First thing I see is Apex uh Apex, Apex, Apex.

um top top step I'm seeing some TOP Step people. Uh, are there other ones because these were the two that Apex has 80 off at the moment. so maybe I'll just get one of those and just buy it. I'm sure like what it expires today.

Oh, is it like a final day of July type of a thing? Maybe I'll do that Elite Traders another one Apex Surge Okay, I'm gonna write all these down and just kind of check into them. um Apex I'm seeing the most of TOP Step I'm seeing that surge I saw when I was like Googling it a little bit. uh uh. Interesting.

Okay, well I appreciate all that. So I'll look into that pen. Check Got the old pen, Got the old pen. Much appreciated.

So before the market goes dingy ding ding ding there are a couple things we need to rip through. Uh, first of all, shout out to Stripy for sponsoring today's stream. So shout out to Street Beam and shout out to everyone who is currently using Street Beep! And on that note, Stock features rise slightly as the market is set to end July with solid gains. Yes, it is.

So I Just want to remind everyone that we kind of knew this coming into July that historically it is a very strong month. If you look at the average gain of July over the past 20 to 30 years, it's pretty much bottom off, bottom, left, to top right. So once again, you have seasonality for the win. Which brings up the fair question of what happens in August.
Historically, this is no guarantee. Historically August is just a sideways month. You can see it right here. Little up, little down, little sideways, a little up.

Maybe a little bit more of a seasonal bullish push at the end of the month. So we could probably remember that for like the final week of August. But really, it's just choppy. So with seasonality, you're going to get a little chop up.

You're going to get a little chopped down. Uh, it's not as strong of a month as what we saw in July or September where the first half is really bullish. second half is really bearish. August seasonality.

It's just people are. literally they're just on their summer breaks, so you're not. Historically, we don't see much of a movement. This August obviously could be different.

It could continue to be bullish. It could continue to be bearish, or it could represent exactly what August historically has. It's just a little chop up. Little chop down ends up being a choppy whipsaw type of a month.

That's possible. But I just want to take a step out and kind of remind you where we are in the year. Obviously we wrapped up Q2 We're almost about to be halfway through Q3 We're still in the middle of earning season. In terms of earnings, it's mixed bags.

There have been some noteworthy misses, but there's also been some noteworthy wins in terms of: GDP. In terms of our economy, we're growing faster than expected. In terms of inflation, the magnitude's still high, but we are successfully trending downward recently. As in last week on Wednesday, the FED decided to raid the FED fund rate by another 25 bips 0.25 There's a very fair argument that this could actually be the final rate hike of the current monetary cycle policy or monetary cycle, and the upcoming policy could just be.

We're going to pause and pause and pause, and then eventually they're going to decide to cut and cut and cut. but that is going to be a little bit further down the line honestly, if you ask me. So that's kind of a snapshot of where we are in the like, the larger and medium picture. But in the very short term picture, there's a lot of things to talk about.

So recently we have some updates with the Bank of Japan obviously I want to get into that I Also want to talk about what is this going to load? Is this going to load? Is this? Uh oh uh oh Traders Brace for 102 billion wave of treasury bond sales so that could definitely cause the market to go a little bit crazy. So these are all once again, some short-term things. Uh, last week, heavy on the macroeconomic reports. This week, we still have some important things.

obviously. we're going to get the Jolts data on Tuesday We're going to get non-farm employment change on Wednesday We're going to get the non-farm payrolls on Friday We're going to get the normal uh, initial jobless claims but also the PMI this Thursday So feel free to check this out on Investing.com It's a free resource just to know the events. With respect to today, there's actually not much going on. we're not expecting any like crazy announcement that everyone's anticipating.
just want you to know about that. Obviously, there's still earnings. the major ones are Amazon and apple. Uh, you could even say coinbase.

Really? Thursday is the crazy one of this week, but we still have AMD Uber Pfizer there's we're still in earnings season. Crazy things going on. so check it out at E-whispers or just feel free to screenshot. that.

and last but not least, with respect to today, I Would say seasonally it slightly favors the Bulls. A lot of the time we went up sideways down a bit, but recently over the past four years there's been a little bit of a bullish Trend. So I would say from a seasonal perspective, today does favor the Bulls but obviously that's no guarantee. and on that note, the casino is open.

Best of luck to all. Play responsibly, if not, have fun. All right folks, before we get going, you guys know my game plan. I Like to sit on my hands the first 5 10, 15 minutes.

just see how the Market's opening. uh, start of a new week. There's I'm just expecting volatility, just where we are with in terms of price, where we are in terms of volatility, where we are in terms of macroeconomic reports, where we are in terms of earnings season, where we are. in terms of monetary policy, there's a lot of volatility right now.

So I don't want to get chopped up in random volatility at Market Open. so you guys know my plan. I'm just gonna be sitting around for the first 10 15 20 minutes and see if we're building up momentum for either a bullish or a bearish push. So as the Market's opening, obviously we're a minute into the day, we're a little bit late.

but it's okay. I'm not going to consider you guys to be cheaters quite yet. Where are you thinking on the day? Are you thinking bullish or bearish? Are you thinking bullish or bearish? You have to vote, and if you wait too long, it simply does not count. If your vote's not in by 9 33.

Uh, I'm gonna accuse you of being a cheater, cheater eater and you don't want to be that. So where are we right now? despise at 457.40 in your big brain prediction, where will we be by the end of the day? Above that or below that from this very moment you think we're going bowl or you think we're going bare hop hopium to the bearish ride Bullish bullish bull bull. There's more Bulls in chat today. so if I had earnings this morning, obviously Market reacting pretty well so far is currently up 19.

Uh, if you are looking for some of these larger levels, the Spy I'm looking for the break and the hold of Friday's High which we are within spitting distance of 457.70 If we get above and hold above that, that would make me confidently bullish on the day targeting 459.44 which is the high from Thursday of last week. Honestly, even though this is an inside day uh, and I'm referring to Friday relative to Thursday's bar, that push to the upside would start to really signal some bullishness to me and it would make me optimistic of this test to 454 459.44 So watching the high from Friday watching the high from Thursday if you're more of a tech Trader huge breakout coming just below 385 if 385 gives way. Ah man. I Think there's actually a shot of getting up to 380 potentially today tomorrow, something like that.
but when we double drop, well, you could even Ndq. Okay, so the next deck is breaking out right now on Futures We're seeing some optimism. so the tech sector making me confidently bullish. Uh, the S P 500 really? the overall Market Making me kind of feel pretty bullish too.

Tesla's pushing that 269 so 5 holding its gains up 19 Tech Off to the Races Let's see if it holds. Let's see if it holds T-u-p So Tup is a potential. Squeeze Play I have nothing to do with it I'm not long I'm not sure I don't have calls I'm not puts, but Tup has been on a move. It's up another nine percent this morning.

Um, definitely a high short interest. So interesting movement happening with the Tupperware Brands Corporation But High short interest of relatively lower float. There could be shorts getting squeezed out on this one. How's Microsoft doing Nothing too special Apple actually taking a bit of a hit Nvidia up to almost 470 Netflix Chilling at 429, Meta 324 crushed their earnings last week Amazon earnings this Thursday but it's been doing well lately.

Rum on a nice recovery recently dipping below APA Coming up to 860 right now, crude oil hitting my first round of targets. We've been talking about crude oil for about the past two weeks now when it was dipping in those High 70 or excuse me, high 60s, low 70s. We're now training at 81.50 a barrel, so these oil plays doing very, very well for all my commodity Traders out there. Speaking of commodity, Traders I Know not many of you are trading orange juice, but that as a commodity orange juice is ripping like no other.

No other, no other. Uh, interesting Spike Around three minutes into the day and now across the board, we're seeing things getting hit. LED down by Tech Let's see how Energy's doing XLE tracking the energy sector within the S P 500 pushing higher currently up 1.6 percent if you're looking at financials. up 0.5 percent if you're looking at utilities pretty much flat, but up 0.5 if you're looking at Healthcare selling off if you're looking at Industrials pretty much going flat.

so Tech was looking good. you could track that with Xlk. um if it ever comes up popped but getting hit as you can see right there in the top right of your screen. but what's really ripping this morning is energy.
So what's getting some optimism probably? XOM Yep. CVX CVX Also Chevron ripping this morning Exxon ripping this morning Oxy I actually am in Oxy I've been in it since summer of last year, so I've been in it for roughly a year now. My average cost is around 67.68 so I'm still a little underwater but I'm still confident I see oil coming up. it is at resistance.

It might get smacked here, but if it breaks out then I'm watching the mid 80s and if that happens I think Oxy will be back to 66.67 Obviously, Oxy specifically is getting optimism from the Oracle of Omaha Warren Buffett now has over 20 percent of the company in the Berkshire Hathaway fund. So uh, he, if he's that confident, multi-billions in a bet I Kind of just get the vibe that he knows something we don't know. So I'm happy to hold and hold and hold and hold. So a lot of you are bullish today I Have to agree I am also bullish today specifically.

Um, I'm not doing anything too crazy right now just because I'm trying to wait. What? Like I'm trying to figure out what I want to do for the month of August the month of July was degenerately trading options I'm getting the vibe that the month of August should be degenerately training futures. Um, but then if I'm degeneratively training futures, I could do it in my own Futures account or I could do it with a prop account. and the only reason I would do with the prop account is because I've never done it before.

Seems like a fun challenge I've never done it I might be successful I might be an absolute failure I've just never done it I've never used a prop account I don't really I know a little bit conceptually of how it works I've just never done it so that seems like it could be a fun challenge. it can I don't know I guess as we're waiting for the market to really decide what kind of day it's going to be, um, anyone in here that's traded a prop account before? Thumbs up, Thumbs down! Do you like it? Do you dislike it? Do you think it's okay? Like where? where is it at? Um? are you adding to Oxy at these levels I Wanted to buy a 56 and I miss it? Uh no. I haven't added in a while I'm just holding it. uh Apex with Ninja Trader Okay, so Apex is the prop and then you're using Ninjatrader to actually do the trading.

Interesting, interesting, interesting, so not the most multiple accounts. Uh uh okay. what's my take on PayPal Well, they have earnings this week I Don't have a fundamental prediction of beating or missing earnings from a price action standpoint. higher highs, higher lows trending right into this region of resistance.

so I wouldn't be chasing it buying it at resistance I Think is a loser's game but with earnings coming out which is Wednesday it could be a gap up gap down so it might cause it to Gap above it I mean the time to get in here was shoulder head shoulder on this push like the nice entry was back in mid-june when you could have gotten in at 65-66 risking 63 or you could have gone in I mean here in early July when it pushed 67 like you just need a better risk point I'm not going to get in at 76 risk 72 buying at Resistance so if you're in it as a bull, you should be happy because it's a nice trend of The Upside but if you have no position at like, why be predictive of the earnings when you could just be reactive and wait for it to either like hit or miss. So I if I had position, I'd be holding it I'd keep moving my trailing stop loss up if I were like had no position and I liked it or if I like wanted to pay attention to it I would wait to see how the market reacts to the earnings. Uh, report and call take on Apple I mean Apple's just been going up, up, up and away. Um, I mean it's it's highest close ever actually just occurred on Friday So once again, I'm not chasing I mean buying at a high value or shorting at a low value.
You are inherently chasing on whatever time frame you're looking at. you're if you are chasing, you're blowing out your wrist to reward. There are some trading strategies that buy breakouts and short breakdowns, but if you do that, you have to be very, very disciplined with your risk and I would want to see the stats and figures surrounding your strategy to make sure that you actually have positive, expected value. For me, in a general blanket statement, buying at highs and selling at Lowe's just does not seem not only like logically to be smart, but mathematically testing it.

It's a loser's game to be doing that type of a thing. So Apple they have earnings on Thursday I Think it's going to have a strong report I Think their laptop their like. computer sales are going to be suffering just because across the board, we're seeing a lot less people buy earning or buy computers. Excuse me So I expect that to be reflected in the earnings.

but Apple obviously Way Beyond Just what's going on with its Max I mean as iPhones have Services they're going to be talking about AI So I don't know judging off the fact that not all these Mega I mean consumer sentiment strong. Obviously, Apple's relying on the consumer to be buying their multi-thousand dollar products I think Apple ends up beating, but I'm not directly playing it. Uh, it could be a horrific Miss We know certain companies like Microsoft didn't have the best reaction to its earnings. neither did Tesla neither did Netflix But I'm expecting Amazon to absolutely rock it.

Um, as in beat I don't know what's the price is going to go. Meta did also really well. I'm trying to think of some of these other Tech earnings that have recently come out. Roku did really well.

It's a mixed bag in the world of tech. I think Apple's Gonna Come away and be a winner. Uh, but we'll see. I'm kind of curious what's going to happen with Nvidia but overall I'm not playing it I'd rather be reactive once again.
Not predictive, but we'll see how it all goes. My only concern really with Apple for this particular quarter or the most recent quarter is computer sales. Just reading some I think it was posted by Bloomberg or the Wall Street Journal of how computer sales and we're even seeing it in some of the Upstream suppliers to Apple of like their numbers are really down so it's even suggesting that Apple put in a lot lower orders because if the Upstream suppliers the people were making it like Foxconn or something, if their numbers are getting hit, what's that tell you about Apple So it'll be interesting I'm not playing it beforehand Apple's been crazy strong if you've been white knuckling Diamond Handing it from the start of the year until now or even earlier till now. Massive Congrats Massive Congrats Thoughts on Palantir: Palantir's been rocking it I Mean once again, don't chase it.

There were many opportunities to get into it on this run, but the more it runs, you shouldn't be thinking. the more something runs, you shouldn't be thinking should I be buying more after a certain point you have to think okay, when do I start realistically scaling out So Palantir great push ever since their earnings recently Dan Ives on CNBC I believe he called it the messy of AI or the messy of tech or I don't know. he referred to it as basically of being the goat. Palantir has been on a disgusting run.

If you're in it, ride it. ride it. ride it. But if you're not in it, that's not your time to get in.

You want to be buying when things look like and you want to be selling when things look amazing don't do the opposite. Uh, obviously you. these General blanket statements aren't going to work for every person in every situation, but like as a general starting base. Don't buy when things are ripping and don't sell when things are Plumbing You want to do the opposite.

You want to fade what Traders around you are doing. We have an interview coming out this evening and I had the pleasure of interviewing. Jason Shapiro He was profiled in Jack Schwager's Unknown Market Wizards He is a CTA a commodity trading advisor. At one point he was managing 600 million dollars.

This guy's a legit guy. He's had positive years for the past 20 years. He's gone on an unbeaten record for two decades and you know what this tragedy he's doing. He does the opposite of what everyone else is doing.

So there's this report that comes out once a week called the Commitment of Trader reports and you could use it in the Futures Market to see where large speculators are positioned, small speculators and commercials. He basically does the opposite of speculators and his reasoning for that is when 90 to 95 percent of Traders fail statistically is advantageous for you to do the opposite of what most failing Traders are doing. So if you know where Traders are positioned large and small speculators and you know that they fail at a rate of 90 95 of course doing the opposite. So I think that's a very good mindset and I think sometimes going with the crowd as in chasing.
That's what leads to a lot of failure. Now obviously those are my own thoughts and Jason is the actual quote-unquote Market Wizard that's coming out tonight. It's a great interview. I'll get you the link for it later when it actually goes live.

It's currently not live, but that's all he does. He does the opposite now. Obviously he has other rules of entries and it's in position management because you're not going to be right all the time. Like he said I Believe in the interview he said he's about right about 50 percent of the time.

So that comes back to like what I've been really honing in on with everyone here is it's the sizing of your winners and your losers. It's one thing to have an accuracy of like hey, I'd win, whatever 75 of the time, whatever your number is good for you, but then look at the size of your winners, the size of your losers and then that's what you need to know to find out if you're a profitable Trader or not. I have 456 bottles of expire in 500. Right now they're clapping cheeks but I'm down 25.

but Amazon earnings would you let them ride or take the L I guess I don't know how big your position is is it like a D-gen YOLO play for you or is it like too big? um it. that type of position management is like really tough for me to answer of like how I would do it because like for me, if it was a really small position of My overall account I would just let it ride at that point like yeah, whatever Market seems strong. let's ride it out. If it's like too big for my account, I'm risking a lot.

Well I I never want to be in those types of positions where like I never really want to put my whole account at risk or at least you shouldn't be where I try to have the discipline to not get into those situations. a lot of the times it works, but those few times that I'm undisciplined and I do put my risk uh, account at risk usually I get particularly unlucky and it does blow up my account so various things you need to consider there various things of like I wanted I mean the market is shredding in your favor so that's a positive I Just personally if I was back to break even before those earnings I would just get out and be like okay, cool like I don't have to risk anything um but various things you have to look at and consider. Uh, Speaking of which, so Apple's struggling a little bit today, but the Spy remember before the Point Market went Diggity ding ding ding I was talking about 457 78 we got above. We appear to be holding my next Target would be 459.44 Well, I guess I say that depending on the time frame you are paying attention to if you want a little bit of a closer Target if you're more of a scalp Trader like that kind of a thing, hang on I'm having some lag over here.
If you are more of like a scout Trader and that's your your major thing. uh I'd be watching 458.50 so another 50 cents and then past that maybe like 459 25 40. basically I'd be like just undershooting 459.50 So like 459 40 is where I would be targeting on the Spy if I thought this would keep going. Um, if you're more of a NASDAQ trainer and you want some levels for the cues uh, some short-term scalping targets I'd be watching upside 485.50 past that 487 or excuse me uh I was saying for I meant 385.50 and then past that I'd be watching Uh, 387 is where I'd be on the queues.

Um, and I'm just basing that off of some like ATR levels, some ATR levels but things are looking bullish thus far it's holding I I still haven't done anything. Oh actually it is 17 minutes in today I guess like theoretically I could, um, energy looking strong so far doing well after their earnings. How's that Tup company TP is still at nine percent making a swing around. That's actually really impressive energy still strong financials looking a little weak utilities starting to pick up Healthcare sold off going flat Industrials is actually now picking up um, so not many weak sectors today.

Uh, my major curiosity. Whether you're trading the Spire like whatever you're Trading is what I wouldn't want to see is a push. I Actually what I would love to see. To me, an ideal trade today would be a push to 458.50 a pullback into the exponential moving averages, a little bit of a base consolidation, and then a push ideally to like 460 plus.

So that's what I'm kind of looking for I'm not going to be chasing here. we're not that far like we're not that close to the exponential moving averages. so I don't need to chase this if it just rips all day. Whatever.

I missed it. Uh, I'm not really trying to force anything too too special today just because I don't know we're at the end of the month and I'm like trying to figure out my next challenge. I know it's going to be in the Futures Market I Just don't know if I want it to be a prop account or not. Seems like a lot of you are fans of the Apex Uh, the other one was top seeder and then a couple people were mentioning surge.

Uh, if you're just joining in right now and you have any experience with these prop trading accounts, I Would love to get your thoughts and insights on. like the best one, the worst one. Um, as of now, the one I'm seeing the most is Apex Apex, but once again, I'm not affiliated with them I have never used them I I don't I've just always use my own money in my own account. Um Roku Roku crushed earnings.

Would they gain like 25 30 in a day? Roku is definitely Up Up and Away are they still holding it? I Mean this is the same thing as before: I Think you're really silly to be chasing. Why would you be buying at 96 when it was just trading at 68? That to me is just not good risk reward. If you're in it, you ride the train. But to chase it now I Think that's silly.
Why would you chase a runner? Or on the flip side, why would you like sell when something's dying and getting crushed you? It's just not good risk reward. So instead AMC is ripping. Why do I have a sneaky suspicion that it's not. It's up five percent.

It's at 488. When it was, it's down 16 in five days. In fact, it went up Adam Aaron crushed it with his stupid letter. It came down and we're now just bouncing off of support.

It's up 24 cents and people call it ripping. I Mean there were days when we saw AMC get like 95, it went from like 30 to 70 and now it goes up 22 21 cents and people like it's ripping. Um, if you might think it's ripping, but that just shows that some opinions are wrong and that's cool. Um I get it.

I Know that Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but this is a nice reminder that some opinions are in fact wrong and I think we just saw that. I Will give AMC a little bit of a credit though. I Try to see Oppenheimer yesterday and every single seat was sold out until like 11 p.m I was like who's going to the movies at 11 PM on a Sunday and even then a decent amount of the seats were already taken. That was the only option that just wasn't already fully sold out.

Blew My mind. blew my mind. Matt I Hate what Adam is doing. but the box office result is enough to get big money in.

Um, no, it's not. Do you know the box office numbers? The box office is not performing Disney in like the last 10 movies. maybe the last 12 Movies lost 900 million dollars. The box office is not performing Oppenheimer is doing well and Barbie's doing well.

but that's that's two movies and two movies aren't gonna make or break the Box off is you need a slew of high performing movies. we just we're not in that same time era of when like I don't know like I know Avatar did well but we don't have like the series of Marvel movies that are all crushing and getting like one 1.52 billion dollars like there was like that weird Financial like massive positive surge when we had like end game and things like that. We're just not getting those right now and unfortunately and this has nothing to do with the theater, but with the writer strike and the actor strike. Obviously this is going to have negative reverberations going into the future.

like clearly it has to, um, like there's gonna be a lag effect. but I would not be surprised if this lag effect ends up at some point like I don't know how many quarters it's going to be delayed because I don't know the average age it takes to create a show or create a movie. but with them not working the active strike, the dual strike going on in Hollywood clearly that's gonna have a negative impact moving forward. How could it not? Do you find yourself buying more in the money or out of the money options on the spot? almost exclusively out of the money? But that's because I'm a degenerate Trader I'm not pitching that as like oh, a reasonable way to go.
Uh, AMC earnings are 808. will know more then probably I mean hopefully they give us reasonable Insight But I mean is anyone going to be surprised? It's probably going to go the way that it has gone in the past where Adam Aaron just lies and bullshits people and he's like please let me dilute the company so I can keep my job Matt We made money together in May of 2021. Put your emotion about Adam aside I share your belief but am here for money not Adam Aaron But I'm the one who's not being emotional because I'm stating facts and you're saying oh, the box office is awesome. It's not.

So you're the one who's emotional. That's that's the definition of opium. I'm citing facts and figures that can be measured and kind of assigning it value to the stock going up or down. You're telling me not to be emotional, but you're the one who's like literally making up numbers to like I don't know I guess Make yourself feel a little bit better that maybe the Stock's going to go up I want it to go up if I can wave a magic wand and make AMC squeeze again I would but the magic wand doesn't exist and even if it did Adam Aaron kind of has the vibe of like he would steal it and snap it and throw it into like the depths of the ocean because he's a douchebag.

What's your idea on? Mullen Mullins Another just shitty pump and dump company they have. Oh my. God This is getting even worse. How is Mullen still on the NASDAQ My prediction on Mullen is it's a ticking Time Bomb until it gets kicked off the NASDAQ and ends up on the OTC market.

It's a shitty company with a shitty leadership team. Um, it's actually I I Can't name anything positive about Mullen in fact. um, it's It's rare that you see a company that's this bad like it is impressive in the way of how bad it truly is. and it's still trading.

Uh, but it's not going to be trading for long. Its market cap is down to 79 mil. It's gonna get kicked off the NASDAQ It'll be put on the OTC market. It's a zombie company.

It's a zombie company. It's still somehow technically alive, even though it's like functionally dead. it's a piece of. and also what? What's his name? David mystery or whatever the CEO's name is.

He's an even bigger piece of than his company is. like just a complete lying scumbag it pushing for those first 15 minutes and getting a little bit smacked right now. And this is a a good good reminder of why trading right at the market open. There's just too much whip saw a legal shorting You think Mullen is being illegally shorted I mean you'd have to have some evidence of it I Don't understand why some of the retail Community assumes that something goes down.

It's being Illegally shorted I I'm a big subscriber to the concept of Occam's razor of maybe the easiest solution is the right solution. The most reasonable explanation is the accurate explanation of maybe things go down because they're shitty. Has anyone ever thought of that? Um, has anyone what does OTC mean? Um, it's over the counter so there's various exchanges like the NASDAQ the New York Stock Exchange Sometimes you get kicked off of it and you have to trade on what's referred to as the gray Market also known as OTC foreign. That's all you need to know.
Diddy Uh I'd have to fact check that. but if if true that's crazy, that's absolutely crazy. Buying puts on your own company. Nope, you're wrong.

They go down because they're sure didn't do they don't but do they? I mean they can. but I don't know if we could subscribe every single red bar to shorts and then even if we could I don't know if we can like explain every red bar by illegal shorting. um I Totally played. puts on the Spy today.

Chad I Hope you're crushing it. Uh, all of my statements are opinions only. all of my statements are a verified fact, so we definitely on opposite sides of the coin there. Gary Matt I Know it's not your normal type of video, but are you willing to create an option trading video? Um, they're up there.

I I Have multiple options trading videos so if there's some, if there's a video that you want, like covering a very specific subject that I haven't created. yeah, reach out to me I would love to it I I Love when you guys tell me what kind of videos you want, it makes my job a lot lot easier. Um, takes out the guesswork. but if on the the main Channel there's a playlist like called trading Essentials and there's like four or five options videos there.

Uh, what else do we have? What about an algorithm that is set to short stocks? What about it? They exist. They're legal I have no issues with shorting I have issues with a legal manipulative shorting I have issues with um, stock bashing I have issues with spoofing, but just to take a short position. If if you think Tesla's overvalued and it's going to go down, why should you not be able to put your money where your mouth is I am completely fine I Have no moral ethical qualms with shorting. My issues are with manipulative shorting with um I guess Ftds being produced like like.

but I'm not just going to be again shorting I Mean there's been various studies done that shortening the fact that shorting is even possible. We actually trade at a higher value the overall Market because of it. So in a vacuum where you couldn't short at all, we'd actually be training at less of a value. And it's out there.

it's done. It's backed up. It's peer-reviewed You can look at the studies. Um, but maybe you don't care about that, but just talking about like a moral and ethical standpoint.

How do you think we find find out these scam companies like Nikola or Luck and Coffee. It's because of these people who want to look for short opportunities to look for companies who are lying to the public. I Would actually argue that I I mean it's tough because I know there is a legal shorting going on. but in the sub sector of shorts legal legitimate shorts, they find out a lot of scam artists and protect the public by doing so.
I mean I I Have no issue with it? Uh, shorting keeps the market honest? Oh wait, and you have Casey How did you get that? Pirate Flag That's so cool. My options position on my fidelity account is showing 100 losses. Anyone else having issue? I'm seeing a lot of people today saying they're having issues with Fidelity so it seems like they're having some tech problems. How do you sell if you still own a stock that's on? OTC You can actively trade on the OTC market that's an actively traded Market It's not like you're getting stopped.

I Mean it has worse liquidity. It also has less regulatory protection, but you can still trade on the OTC market. Uh, the issue is they don't really want retailers to short because when things run up, it becomes insanely expensive to borrow and there's no shares to short yet it gets rugged well. Yeah, I I Don't understand the issue.

The issue is they don't want retail to short. Retail is allowed to short. But of course, to take a legal legitimate short position, you first have to locate shares. you shouldn't be able to short if you can't find the loan.

That to me is a system that's working. uh does he read Rumble chat? Absolutely not refuse to MooMoo allows OTC trading. A lot of brokerages do all all quote unquote. Good respected brokerages allow trading on the OTC market like if you go to think or Swim if you go to interactive brokers if you go to Fidelity If you go to like any of these uh E-Trade like they're all going to allow you to trade on the OTC market.

MooMoo doesn't cost to trade on OTC that's a little different. That's actually surprising. Um, a lot of times I've only traded on the OTC market a little bit here and there and I definitely have to pay per trade and sometimes it could actually be lofty. Uh, do you think MooMoo is good? I've never used it but I have like friends and just know of traders who have and they don't like it.

I don't know if Kudri's in chat uh she's one of my mods. Kudri you here if so? uh she's used MooMoo and said it was like one of the worst brokerages she's ever used. Um, but once again I haven't touched it myself. have not touched it I'm gonna create a new brokerage called Ponzi you Guys Interested in Investing James It's such a bold idea that it might just work.

It might just work All right? Well, we are now 30 minutes into the day, we have our 30 minute high in our 30 minute low I Actually really enjoy tracking these throughout the day. Uh, I forget the stat right off the top of my head I can get it I'll explain it to you in the Power Hour show today, but if you look at the market open, uh, the first 30 minute bar, this bar right here that we just made. if you break above the 30 minute bar or break below it, that's actually really indicative of what kind of day you're going to have. Once again, none of this stuff is like a hundred percent guaranteed.
But if you look at it like with a large data set and you say okay, do we first break up or do we first break down and when I'm talking about breaking out breaking down, I'm talking about the first 30 minute bar the there's a very high correlation with that breakout or breakdown also being reflective of where you go for the remainder of the day. Once again, not a hundred percent guaranteed. but if you took that trade over and over again, you would be right with an accuracy definitely over 50. I Do have the article uh I'll just talk about it during the Power Hour stream.

I'll give you the exact stats and figures on it, but that's actually why I like to know the break of okay, we have this low. We have this: High I'm just waiting to see if we're breaking down or Break It Down Why is Iwm doing its own thing? There could just be a rotation today. Um, Iwm a little over performing. There could be a rotation into the small cap sector.

Uh, remember, there's no overlap between Iwm. with Aspire the queues, it is a different subset of sets. a sub set of equities of stocks. Uh, so if some of these are weak, that could just tell you that there's a rotation into a different sector.

People might not want to take on the risk of the Spire the cues and then they're like oh well. small caps are looking good so they might be putting their money into that a rotation. Uh, my TD Ameritrade moved to Charles Schwab and I hate it. Uh, they bought them out.

but think or Swim should just be like normal right? Is it isn't think or Swim kind of like as a platform it should look the same. It should behave the same I didn't think there were any changes to think or Swim which is TD's trading platform.
