Not working until after college is such a foreign concept to me. I literally did not know a single person in college who didn't work. I attended a large public university.

Obviously this also means that today's college loans are financing groceries, Starbuck's, rent, etc. Again, a completely foreign concept. Those I knew who took out loans ONLY took them out for tuition and maybe books, but everyone was expected to pay their own way on everything else. I'm sure there were some people who financed "life" through student loans, but I never met one.

If anyone one feels like it, look up "this generation doesnt want to work 1890's." Youll find news papers that are saying that just like we have news articales nowadays. This has been said for over a 100 years. Its not that people dont want to work, its that we want to live life.

I was also working at 10, helping my dad in the tractor in the cotton fields. That doesnt mean it was good for me. Hell thats what opened my eyes to how messed up the system is. My dad could barely afford the bills, let alone food. That was with a 80+ hour work week. Its not worth it and it wont be until everyone can support themselves. No we shouldnt have kids work, no matter the job. They are KIDS they deserve a CHILDHOOD free of adult responsibility. Thats why teens can get a job at 15 or 16. They got to be a kid and now that its 2 to 3 years before being an adult, maybe they can get any kind of savings.

Gen Z are also the worst new hires, I been in tech for almost 20 years, they come in and think they should start earning 100k fresh out of school, then they take the job but don’t even last 6 months to year.

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @jackmercer4803 says:

    Definitely the weakest generation

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @briantbmoth6472 says:

Nailed it. I started working at 12 and then got a job at McDonald’s. I was used to the concept of work by the time I finished schooling. To not have a job until mid twenties is wild. Especially when you’re from a working family.

This girl is gonna make it in life. I was worried about them but there is one

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @mastertradeofnone5909 says:

    I’ve worked 10 hours + a day since I was 16

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @mikehunnewell7412 says:

I would agree. I started making candles and selling them at 4 . My dad had a pizza restaurant .so when I was 7 he let me sell coffee, muffins and Bagels out of his restaurant . When I was 11 I started working for my dad. By the time I was 17 I had bought a bobcat and a truck cash. started working for myself. I'm 36 now and I several rental units and I rent out car on Turo. I think parents are enabling kids . My dad would never buy me anything I didn't really need. So if I wanted a bike , golf cart even name brand clothing . I would have to buy them .

Here's the thing. You guys use the wrong word for this.. You think that work and job is the same thing. You are wrong!!! Your generation only has jobs only jobs .. Starbucks is not working it's a job. Insurance office people is a job not working. Handing people cell phones or a cashier at a bank is a job not working. Some of you do work at
Such as roofers or contractors things like that are working jobs. You people do not work at your jobs! You are mentally able to have a job most of you have never worked or ever will work . That's the problem with you guys you changed words to suit your needs and you still don't like it.. wow pray we don't go to war you people are screwed.

    She’s not gen z

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @shyseoul says:

Gen Z entered the workforce and realized they aren't the Main Character.

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @JakanMcCaucaugh-zf4ch says:

On one hand, yes, gen X is incredibly lazy and entitled. That said, medieval peasants worked less that the modern wage slave by a significant margin.

    Try living on your own

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Hola! @highlightrelz897 says:

“I was working at 10”. Gtfo outta here bro that’s federally illegal. No shot that’s true. Doesn’t matter if it’s a family business, that’s labor exploitation and your family’s business is liable for criminal action. Also, if you look at the stats, Gen Z is starting work at around the same time the previous generation did. Inflation’s not that bad, the economy’s pretty f*cking awesome. The problem is people in society don’t take individual responsibility for literally anything including this girl. That’s the problem

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @onehitwonder561 says:

    WOMEN!!! STOP. VOTING. DEMOCRAT.
    Solve the problem.

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @zeus_god6904 says:

Nope scammers and rich kids don't have to work… well scammers need some effort at the beginning 😂😂

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @scottfraser706 says:

Yup i agree i started working at 12 nothing crazy just small summer jobs like picking strawberries at the local farm and doing odd job for the Mennonite bee farm . I didnt like it back them but looking backon it i learned a lot and its helped me with my food Forest

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @Mr.Hister says:

I would say the problem is your generation votes democrat… which really cranks up that money printing machine because you never learned how to use money correctly. Thus incurring huge debt not only for you but the nation and then you cry cuz you dont understand

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @russelljohnson6951 says:

My grand dad got me my first job at 13

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @steveharper879 says:

Well if the world wasn't rigged by evil people the economy would get better and not worse. I guess people find it defeating to know that if they get the same kind of job as their parents not only will they not be able to afford the same quality home they grew up in but that they may in fact end up just end up homeless instead. Also this concept : People would rather work less and not more — it doesn't simply make them lazy it also makes them sane. But you're right if you start working a lot at a young age you will more likely become used to and desensitize yourself to how disturbing that really is. Sorry that some people like the idea of living life and feeling alive, I know it's terrible and pretentious

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @painoftheheart12 says:

No one should be working 40hrs. The whole idea in the 40 hr work week was that eventually we would be working LESS

  27. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @geo17139 says:

lmao imagine getting into workforce after college and get paid the lowest basic entry salary …and you still have to pay rent of more than 1500$ per month
