Foreign drama drama Drama Twitter accuses Meta of stealing trade secrets for its new Threads app Elon Musk's Attorney Alex Spiro Wrote a letter to Meta on Wednesday accusing the company of willful misappropriation of Trade Secrets Meta launch Threads a Twitter clone and quickly amass millions of users getting 30 million signups overnight and it's not even live in the EU yet experience. letter warned Meta that it was prohibited from scraping Twitter's follower data. I'm just blown away at how quickly they got adoption for this thing and it started last night. I was one of the first I think 300 000 accounts on there and I from what I hear they're already through 30 or 40 million users when you consider that the user base is 2 billion I Guess it's not that surprising, but the speed here is just absolutely breathtaking.

Um, I think that's a function of two things. The first is people are looking to have that old Twitter experience back from 2016 17 18, 19. They're not going to get it on existing Twitter and so that's why you're seeing that play out with the speed with which this user base is growing. But the other startling thing though is that Facebook could have done this anytime like they could have done this really 10 years ago.

It was ingenious to build this based on the Instagram social graph and just let people who are already there have a different app but bring over their friends not have to start from zero with a new identity. They I can't believe they could have done this all along and they haven't. Maybe the opportunity was was created by all of the chaos on the existing Uh Bird app that the hell site? uh that is now and I just I it was. It feels like I started on Twitter in March of 09 it feels like 2009 and like everyone's excited.

but my phone is set on alerts. it's buzzing every second. Thousands of followers overnight. It's like it's really cool to see everybody back together again.

Nobody's blocked. Nobody's haters are on there. The pseudonyms haven't shown up yet the crypto scam. so it's like it's a new era.

It's a new era. Obviously they're gonna have to prove that in the court of law. I think the fact that it is so similar. Of course there's going to be a lawsuit, but it's really up to how the judge decides it.
