Boy, oh boy, is robin hood going to get bought out. You heard that right, robin hood, the retail brokerage that was very, very popular at one time and then had one of the worst social pr plummets ever a question now. Is it gon na be bought out? There is a very real avenue in which that could happen. So i need to share this story about ftx, which, if you haven't already sign up for ftx, i use them right now for crypto training, but as you can see, they're working diligently to expand their ecosystem and it appears to be getting into the world of equities.

That's when it's kind of bringing it up well, are they going to do it on themselves or are they going to buy out another company, one of which could obviously be robin hood, but we also got to talk about weeble. We got to talk about public. We got ta talk about apex. All of those are fair game.

Ftx, reportedly shopping for brokerages in preparation for stock trading, amend its plans to roll out stock trading services. Fdx is reportedly met with at least three brokerage startups over the past months regarding potential acquisitions, and some of them might be friendly. Some of them might be hostile, and some of them might just be a rumor. The first announcement last thursday said that the united states based subsidiary ftx.us, will be launching a zero commission training platform uh and allowing users to fund their accounts with fia backed stablecoins, mainly usdc.

But i also want to announce in ftx's announcement. They clearly stated no payment for order flow. I want to be very very clear about that. According to a monday report from cnbc who cited sources that asked not to be named because the deal talks were confidential, so a little bit of loose lips, the firm has held private meetings with at least three brokerage startups over the past few months regarding potential acquisitions.

Three companies names specifically were weeble apex, clearing and public.com. All parties, along with ftx, have not yet provided comments on rumors, but matt. You were talking to us about robinhood. Where does that fit into this? Well boy? Oh boy, don't forget a couple days ago.

A couple weeks ago, depending on when you're watching this, the ceo of ftx sam bakeman, fried ended up announcing that he actually has a 7.6 ownership stake of ramen. He announced that he bought it, and people were like whoa. Is this guy about to go full elon and, like maybe just buy so much equity and do kind of a hostile takeover? We don't know yet no one's confirming it, but we know that they're at least having meetings. We know from the sec filings that he's buying more of this particular company.

It's going to be interesting to see how this all plays out, because it's not going to be a nothing burger. Something is obviously going to happen. We know ftx is getting into the world of equities. The big question is: how are they going to pull it off at this stage? It is unclear if ftx is looking primarily at startup companies to support its stock focus incentives or if the company has eyes on a larger acquisition in the long term, with particular reference to robinhood.

However, the sec filing doesn't offer many clues as it outlined that sbf doesn't hold plans to have any active participation in the robin hood instead of describing it as an attractive investment total. Do i buy that? No, not at all. I think this is just one particular move in a pretty large chess match, so i'm waiting to see how this all plays out the grounds are clearly shifting something's gon na happen. It might be with one of the companies we announced with particular interest on robinhood because of the equity ownership already from ftx.
