Well that escalated quickly. I think that we should mark today down monday april 25th as the day that our simulation was confirmed. Yes, you heard the news properly. Our boy elon musk is officially purchasing twitter for 44 billion dollars, that's billion with a b.

Now, if you ask me, that's a bit of a hefty price tag for an edit button, but whatever elon's the world's richest man, let's let him do what he wants with his own money, depending on who you are. You might love this news. You might think this is great news for the world of freedom of speech for the campaign for freedom of speech and then there's other people who think that this is absolutely horrendous for freedom of speech and they're, basically losing their damn minds. Now.

I have to admit it is pretty funny to see how this is all playing out. So in this video i want to get into all the specifics of the deal. I want to better explain: what's going to be happening, if you happen to be invested in twitter, what happens to your shares or if you have options, what's going to happen, all those and then i want to get into what this all means for mainstream media? What this means for the current ceo, the previous ceo, and what really this might mean for freedom of speech so before we get into all that, if you enjoy this type of content, don't forget to join up by hitting the subscribe button and other than that. Let's get at it, elon musk lands deal to take twitter private for 44 billion dollars.

Billionaire entrepreneur, elon musk agreed to buy twitter for 44 billion using one of the biggest leverage buyout deals in history. Investors will receive 54.20 for each twitter share they own, so that one's pretty simple, if you own twitter, when this is completely finalized, which will be closer to the end of this year, for every share that you own of twitter you're going to get paid 54.20. Now, if you're in options, whether calls or puts it's a little bit different and obviously you have to take in consideration the expiration date of said options. But if it's out of the money, it's going to just expire, worthless, you're, most likely not going to get anything and the premium will be at zero.

Now, if it's in the money, you'll actually get a cash payment for those cancelled shares. Just so we're all up to date with how that could impact your individual position this, what what a crazy day so twitter right now, just for posterity's sake, just trading under fifty 52, currently up almost six percent on the day. With this news, we're also going to be talking about doge, because you can see this news is actually prompting doge to rip through the roof currently up 26, but before we get there, there are other things we should cover. The deal was unanimously approved by the company's board and is expected to be completed later this year, musk secured 25.5 billion of debt and margin loan financing and will provide about 21 billion in equity to fund the deal.

So it's this really financing that i think it might be throwing a little bit of a wrinkle into what's going to go on here, but before we get to that, i do want to get to some of these initial reactions, particularly from elon himself. I hope that even my worst critics remain on twitter, because that is what free speech means now. I know there's many many people who you're probably watching this and, if i'm being honest, you're, probably pissed at me, you're probably mad that i'm not freaking out. But i honestly like that elon's buying twitter, if you don't think that it was already being run by a billionaire oligopoly like an oligarch, really like that's what we had going on already and i actually think that elon will be a better champion for freedom of speech.
I don't think he's gon na have arbitrary rules that really no one's aware of like yeah. You can scream in the comments about terms of service but like we all know that those weren't really being followed fairly for everyone involved. We know that people were getting shadow banned and there's other things that's going to be going on, and i want to look the cat of the bad but certain things like taking care of the bots. I mean, i think, that's a very, very good thing that elon will be doing.

Maybe i'm wrong on this, but i truly believe that elon is actually campaigning for freedom of speech in this particular deal and i'm getting that from comments like this. He says even people who don't like him stay on the platform. That's what freedom of speech is and, what's even more powerful, is this free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy and twitter is the digital town square, where matters vital to the future of humanity? Are debated i also want to make twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust. That's a big deal.

That's a huge deal, their algorithms that like serve you, everything like the little fancy robot. In the background. That's deciding what gets presented to the rest of the world. It's going open source defeating the spam bops.

That would be huge and authenticating all humans. Big big wins in my opinion, for twitter twitter has tremendous potential. I look forward to working with the company and the community of users to unlock it. Hey do i think he'll be able to pull this off.

I don't know i have faith in him. I mean he's done many other impressive things and i think in. If you look at his resume of success, this will actually kind of be an easy one for him to particularly pull off. So i want to get that out there.

I do think that there's people who are grossly overreacting, but i also like i alluded to before i want to talk to you about some of these things. That could be interesting. Remember that financing thing it's not like musk himself, just pulled out of 44 billion out of his pocket, mr musk detailed how he would put together financing from the investment bank, morgan stanley. So, basically, morgan stanley won goldman sachs, zero and a group of other lenders which were offering 13 billion in debt and financing plus another 12.5 billion in loans against the stock in tesla the electric car maker that he runs.
He said he would use another 21 billion in cash to buy the rest of twitter's equity. Why? This is interesting because it means the person providing the loan morgan stanley is. They now have the right to understand how twitter is doing at pretty much a moment's notice. Even as a private company, because tesla as in elon's, equity of tesla is the collateral.

So, basically, if twitter starts to perform poorly morgan, stanley would have the right to come to elon, be like hey. You have to give us some of your tesla stock, which means that they're always going to be monitoring how twitter's doing, even as a private company, so a little bit of an interesting thing there, but arguably what's more interesting is something that was reported from me kevin. Let me just zoom and make this a little bit. Bigger.

Breaking twitter ceo, set to receive 42 million if terminated after musk deal, goes to show that failure at the corporate executive level still pays quite well. So hey, if you're sitting there and your mom and your dad have always called you, a failure, don't worry about it. Even failures can get 42 million dollars so you're. Looking a okay and if you're wondering about the previous ceo.

Well, he made out pretty well too jack: dorsey made 974 million, almost 1 billion in the twitter sale to elon musk, so there's, probably a big old smile on his face clearing a billion dollars. That's more of the people specific to the company! Now one thing that i personally find a lot of joy in is looking at media and how media said this would all play out, because a lot of people said no way elon could do it no way. Will he get the money no way? Is he serious, and i guess what i would say to them is obviously you were wrong wrong wrong. Not that long ago, jim cramer twitter's board has no choice but to reject elon musk's offer well.

That was posted a mere 11 days ago. That's that's just awkward because um, you know i'm starting to think that the inverse jim cramer calls might be one of the best trading strategies for this calendar year, probably for many calendar years, but probably something to all look into, because this was a horrifically wrong call. A lot of people when it comes to twitter, they want to know about the former president. Trump trump will not not will not return to twitter, even as elon musk purchases.

The platform will begin using his own truth, social. So i guess trump is saying: i'm not coming back um. I still don't know if i fully buy that he wants to be on truth, social he's only posted once there before. I just think that this whole ordeal now has actually tanked true social, because, all of a sudden, i think a lot of people who dislike twitter and we're about to go to truesocial.
I think now they're going to give twitter a second shot to see what elon can do with it. One interesting thing that i saw come from all of this and i don't really know what to make of it. Anonymous, like you know that massive hacking group uh when it was said breaking elon musk buys twitter. They said psy, i don't know if i'm reading too much into it, but this is a legitimate group.

Eight million um they're, obviously very well known um. I don't know. I just thought that was something interested. I wanted to share it with you.

Obviously, they are not the biggest fans of elon now taking the company private one of the most interesting things from all of this, i have to say, is the fact that dogecoin ripped, so this right here, dogecoin surges nearly nine percent. Amid reports that twitter will accept musk takeover offer, well, as you can tell now that it's official, it's actually up 21.5 on the day and it's as simple as this dogecoin has a lot of links to elon elon's been a huge supporter of the meme coin and Then, beyond that, it's like okay, well, is it actually gon na be more of a legitimate case, like all of a sudden is elon gon na push we already have seen somewhat at tesla, but are we gon na also see it at twitter of just payments? Will dogecoin be accepted, which would just really help bolster the use case of dogecoin? So obviously, quite a bit of excitement there before the market opens on thursday. Twitter will be having their earnings posted, but they will not be having a corresponding call. They will not be having a corresponding conference call, so we won't get that much information, but we're going to get some information we'll know a little bit about just their numbers, how they did in the most recent quarter.

But i think, pending all this news, it's going to be more of these official. I guess posts from perron from elon and really probably sec filings, but once again twitter they do have their earnings we're just going to get to know how they did in the past. Quarter but no associated conference call that is really the skinny on this whole situation. Like i said at the start, this really does feel like a simulation confirmed type of a thing.

But yes, this is real life. Elon musk will now own twitter for 44 billion dollars. I would love to get your thoughts in a comment below. Do you think this is good for freedom of speech, or do you think this is one of the biggest attacks on freedom of speech that we've ever seen? Once again, let me know in a comment below thank you for your time, i'll catch you in the next video.

Honestly it’s good thing. I’d rather musk own it. But I hope he takes it public again. I am not stoked on that part. I honestly would own every company he has but sadly Tesla is the only thing to get exposure to the musk market.

I am just confused as to why the radical right wing is looking at this as some kind of win? Elon is a leftist and it's not like there won't be a terms of service anymore.. Accounts will still be banned if they violate hate speech rules and stuff like that.. So what changes?

Not liking someone shouldn't be a reason to shut them up. Sadly, there are a lot of people with some strange ideas and perspectives out there, but if we really value freedom of speech then we need education not censorship.

Wait. Can someone please explain to me the whole β€œif the ceo is fired after elon makes the purchase” means? Does that mean that Current ceo will still be at the company even if it’s privately owned by elon? Thanks everyone
