So you heard about degenerates making the ton of money in the stock markets with options and now you want to know what a call option is? Well, you've come to the right place. A call option is simply a contract that you would buy from someone that represents your right to purchase an underlying asset which is typically a hundred shares of a company stock at a certain price known as the strike price which you would pick on or before a certain date known as the expiration date which you would also pick. To put it another way, it would give you 100 times bullish leverage on the stock in question.
