Elon Musk has successfully trolled the entire internet Elon Recently tweeted this picture Wikipedia is not for sale A personal appeal from Jimmy Wales Who is the co-founder of Wikipedia Have you ever wondered why the Wikipedia Foundation wants so much money? it certainly isn't needed to operate? Wikipedia You can literally fit a copy of the entire text on your phone. So what's the money for inquiring minds want to know? And then things got interesting when Elon followed up by saying I will give them a billion dollars if they change your name to Dickipedia if accepted. This trolling would last at minimum of one year.

But that money goes to hosting of the servers that host and store all of Wikipedia. And its public data.

This is like 12yr old comedy, nothing of any substance. Wiki is public, he could easily find out but nope he probably expects that to just fall into his lap like every other endeavour he has been a part of. I remember after watching the first few thunderf00t videos, thinking "this guy is so jealous" until time & time again Elon proved he isn't bright, he literally just has money & has had that since birth. Also, do you remember the whole "facts" around why Elon is no longer a part of Paypal? Its because everyone else saw him making terrible decisions & almost running the business into the ground, so they decided to kick him.
Where are the cybertrucks, the manned mars missions, the solar tiles, the hyperloop? There are so many other things but this guy is dopey as hell. SpaceX would have failed had he not had government mullah!
No he hasn’t. He made a dumb joke. Wikipedia costs lots to operate not because of its size but because of its use. You need lots of infrastructure to handle the millions of people accessing it all at once.

Operating a lot of computer servers is not cheap, Elon. As a techie, you should know that.
Wikipedia will change definitions if you donate enough. Glad I never donate no matter how much they write a cry/victim piece.
