Together make us go together. I Saw you remember what a bang Bernie A bang bro that is bright. Hmm. Hold your horses.

What a burn burner of a day. What a Baharn burner of a day like this is. Today is the kind of day that makes you makes you realize you hate Trading Today is one of those days where you're like yep, nope I am positive I Absolutely hate this. It's one of those days.

So I guess I guess that's a good reminder. Um, we ripped this morning out of nowhere. The market took a massive hit and then we ripped to new intraday highs on the spy and the cues on Apple news I'll be covering what happened with Apple and then we spent hours just selling off, made a new intraday low and as soon as we made a new intraday low, it served as a launch pad. and then we just rocketed not all the way back to intraday Highs but within within half a dollar.

So barn burner of a day Barn burner of the day. So I do want to talk about what happened with Apple today? I Also want to prep everyone for Tesla's earnings and for Netflix's earnings which are coming out after the market closes today. I Want to give you a quick recap of what's going on with Carvana I Want to talk a little bit about Oppenheimer and the new Barbie movie. What that can mean in terms of like just the movie going, box office experience, all that good stuff.

We'll talk about the seasonality for tomorrow. Quick tip: it's absurdly bullish and then I also need you to know the macro economic event so there's a lot to get into. But before we get into all that, um maybe it makes a bit more sense if I show you some of the charts. But today's recovery is a very very good example Why you should on the short time frame I'm talking about if you're day trading, you should be trading with the overall trend with the overall trend and then what you do is in your time frame you look for Distortion the opposite way.

so almost being like a contrarian. So if you know that the overall trend in this example the overall Market is going up Up Up Up Up Up Up Well today you being a contrarian, knowing what the overall trend is, you're looking for big pullbacks and there were various opportunities to get in. The most recent coming at 2 30. 2 30.

If you pull up your charts, look at what happened at 2 30 and we started to pop. So you're trading with the overall trend, but you happen to be a contrarian on an even smaller time period and that ended up Paying paying paying paying. So maybe you don't want to take a long, but if if you took a short today and you made money congratulations to you. If you took a short if you had puts seriously congrats.

But if you when we were selling off got put and then things started to pop and now you're frustrated yourself and you're like what the hell was I doing well, That's a good reminder that if you're going against the overall trend yes, you can make money. obviously you can make money. There's always counter examples to every single thing that's stated and taught and plays out in the market. but just to help kind of Stack the deck in your favor I Highly, highly, highly, highly, highly, highly, highly recommend that whatever time frame you're on in that time frame, look for the opposite movement of the overall time frames Direction and then go back with the overall direction.
So for example, and actually I could switch this over right here I mean I had to hold through all this and my account I mean it's getting back to where it should be on this push. This recent cell right here is kind of hurting me. Uh, but when we were just back up above 456 I my account was looking good. now when I was looking at it at 2 30 it looked like ass and when I looked at it at 3 30 looking real good.

So that shows you like what one hour can do. obviously like we're just in a crazy, highly volatile environment. Um, yes, obviously I'm going to comment on Tesla I Just want you to know that in terms of Tesla and the reaction: intraday trading right before the earnings, this is actually fully expected. Tesla commonly does take a bit of a hit going into its earnings report, so this by no means is that crazy.

What? I do find crazy is Netflix Netflix Sold Off Popped. Sold Popped Again. Sold off, bounced off the intraday low and then ripped to a new intraday high That this is a crazy crazy, crazy day. I'm not liking what's going on with the Spy right now I do need to manage a bit of my position if you guys are on locals macross.locals.com Pinton's app a chat in the description of the video you'll know that I wanted to very much de-risk and honestly, this little fall right here is costing me about like 20K Justin Absolutely what is going on today? This is just so insane and absolutely every single Direction it's definitely the time to de-risk You have to have some wider like stops and you have to have a pretty freaking strong stomach to handle all of this craziness.

This is insane. Uh, this is absolutely insane I was hoping for a bit of a pop back to 456 by market close I Kind of missed this right here by the time I realized we were there I must have not had my alerts set up properly. Uh, they didn't go off by the time I looked I had to start the stream with all of you so we'll see. But right now, uh I haven't actually gotten rid of anything today I Added to my SPX call position the one that was supposed to be a day trade just to bring the average down with hopes of getting out.

but those hopes of getting out over the past 15 minutes have been, um, a little bit dissuaded to say the least. But all right, we'll see how it plays out. So what you need to know about today: Dao Rises goes for eight day winning streak as earnings season rolls on. So earnings season technically started last week.

But really, the show starts today. Yes, we've had big Banks report they've done well and that's why the market has been going up. But now's the start of Tech and you might have heard of The Magnificent Seven The Super Seven whatever you want to call them. but it's a group of tech stocks that have really been responsible for majority of the move to the upside.
and two of those seven are reporting after the market closes today and it goes by the name of Tesla and the name of Netflix They are reporting after the market closes today, hence why I have those over here. Tesla's action I mean both of these are just crazy. Uh, Tesla's action a little bit more expected. We this just seems to be how Tesla reacts.

In all reality though, it's only down by 62 two cents. it's down by point two percent because it had such a strong Gap up. and then Netflix actually really strong day. Yesterday went a bit red based on its clothes and now pushing again.

Just really, really strange times. Really really strange times. But in terms of macroeconomic events, today is a little bit quieter. This week's a little bit quieter.

But in terms of just announcements as in earnings, very very important. So for those of you who care about Tesla or Elon or anything going on there, Tesla reports earnings after the Bell today Wednesday July 19th Wall Street is expecting revenue of 24.47 billion and an earnings of 82 cents per share. If you are in Tesla, those are the numbers you're looking for: 24.47 Bill in revenue and in earnings in EPS of 82 cents. Investors will likely be focused on the effect of Tesla's announced price cuts on margins.

That's really the thing you need to pay attention to what is going on with margins. With the price cuts, a lot of people are wondering uh oh, the margins? Like if they're coming in under 16, that could be rough. That could put the stock under quite a bit of pressure. If the margins are larger, well, Tesla might be ripping Way Beyond 300.

So right here early this month, Tesla reported 466 000 total vehicle deliveries for the second quarter and said it had produced 479.7 000. EVS Deliveries are the closest approximation of sales that Tesla reports. Since those deliveries were higher than Wall Street expected. they were partly driven by incentives and discounts.

Investors will likely be looking for information on how Tesla's price Cuts affected margins once again when it comes to Tesla This time around, the question is what's going on with margins. Retail shareholders are also hoping the company will offer more updates on Cyber truck on Wednesday's earning call. So the Cyber truck we just got a picture I believe from Austin like the plant in Austin Texas and we saw the Cyber truck there and it seems like they were kind of hinting at something. so I don't know I see it depends on who you ask I see what's going on in retail and there's a lot of enthusiasm.

There's pretty much always Eternal enthusiasm for Elam but then I look at professionals and I listen to what's going on in CNBC MSNBC CNN Fox All of them and the professionals are all like this is overvalued. so I mean sometimes that helps me, sometimes it doesn't help me. but I very much? Yeah, I don't know I I guess I get things are fundamentally overvalued, but just there's like a little voice in the back of the head in my head that's just like the contrarian way is the way to go I don't know if it's right I don't know if it's wrong. It's made me some money.
It's lost me some money. But when I see these players who think they know what's going on all loading up on one side of the bet I think you're wrong. So when I see the action today and I see it getting hit pretty hard today, all I can think is wow I think these shorts are wrong. They might be wrong.

They might be right I don't know I have about a 50 accuracy here. but for me I like to fade what is like going on in the world and the common sentiment. My opinion is that if you too many people are loaded up on one side of the bet, those are the people who are going to end up losing money now. I Know it's a little bit weird because if you look at retail, retail is very supportive this like a lot of retail is very bullish on Tesla but if you're bearish on Tesla and you're a retail Trader I'm just saying in aggregate I know there's Bulls in here I know there's bears in here I I know it cuts both ways I'm not trying to be like hey, your opinion doesn't matter I Get it.

I'm just looking at a lot of analysts are saying things are fundamentally overvalued. I'm like, well, that seems like a good recipe for the Bears to get absolutely burned. Somewhat of similar reasoning on Nflx: Netflix is about to report earnings. Here's what to expect: Investors will be paying close attention to how the password sharing Crackdown which rolled out in the US during the quarter affected the company's financials.

I'm particularly bullish, So, earnings we're looking at 286 and revenue we're looking at 8.3 billion. Those are the lines in the sand for Netflix Wells Fargo is Raising Its second quarter Net Editions estimate from 1.5 million to 2.1 million. Investors will also watch for any details Netflix provides on its recently launched cheaper ad supported tier. So the cheaper ad supported tier, the market really really reacted positively to it.

but my thesis has a lot more to do with this password. Crackdown If you believe the numbers that Netflix has given us, their assumption is roughly roughly a hundred million accounts are being used that are using someone else's password like it's not their account and then I think to myself, well, I get that a lot of people are going to be mad and they're just not going to sign up for Netflix They're like hey, I like it, but it's just not worth it for me to pay for it. But what if they even convert five percent? That's five million new signups and then the number gets a little bit more interesting when you consider the cheaper ad supported tier. All of a sudden, maybe people are like I like Netflix but I don't think it's worth that much.
Well, this might be a bit more enticing to them. So for me, particularly in terms of Net editions, I'm bullish now. once again, these are just my own thoughts. my own opinions I wish I knew the numbers I don't but just kind of running through it and understanding.

I don't know. like how I view this I Think the numbers could actually be even larger now. obviously it could be a massive Miss and maybe no one converted at all. Maybe people hate the ad supported tier option? That's totally possible.

But for me, I'm willing to be bullish on Netflix even at these elevated prices. I Also, do think it's noteworthy that we've had quite the push into close. Oh man, what am I gonna do today with my positions? Uh, do I need to cut my spy? Okay, I'm about 15 minutes to decide I wanted to cut at 456 but like I said. um I I I I did not have an alert set up right or something missing there.

All right. So anyway, you know Tesla is reporting after the Bell goes Ding ding ding ding ding. You know Netflix is reporting I believe it's all at 5 30 p.m Beyond that, there's other things reporting such as United IBM Tomorrow before the Market opens, we have Tsmc, we have American and we have Johnson and Johnson. Also, tomorrow we have Capital One and then Friday we have American Express So that's the news of what's going on in the world of reporting.

But if you were watching the market, you'll realize randomly at noon o'clock Apple Went gangbusters and this wasn't normal gangbusters. this was not doing anything. Lunchtime hits and Apple doesn't just explode, it explodes to a new all-time high. A new, brand new, fresh, out of the box all-time high of 198.23 pushing its overall Market valuation.

Beyond Three trillion dollars Apple Stock pops on report. It's developing its own equivalent of chat GPT So basically everyone's looking around the market and they're like hmm open AI did pretty well on that AI thing so maybe we should all make our own. We're seeing pop-ups. Well, Microsoft's already with Open AI but they're allegedly what gonna pair it up with Bard And then there's ones that we're seeing coming out of China and now we have Apple making one called Ajax So that is a thing that's happening.

and as you can tell, the market really, really liked it. What I think is strange. This is kind of a side note. so you'll see here at 12.

Huge Rip. Huge rip. And that's actually what prompted today's intraday high on both the spy and the queues was Apple right here. Happened at noon.

Right here. Happened at noon. But what's strange is right after that at 12 15, that's when people started smacking the markets. and then obviously from 12 15 all the way up to 215.
So we had just two hours of brutal, brutal, brutal selling. Dude, now Netflix is crashing into clothes. Dude. this is a high volatility, high octane environment.

This is definitely by no means for the faint of heart. But anyway. Apple that's what happened there getting into the world of AI Apple Test Apple GPT Developers Generative AI Tools to Catch Open AI Apple is quietly working on artificial intelligence tools that could challenge those of Open AI Alphabet Google and others, but the company has yet to do devise a clear strategy for releasing the technology to Consumers So literally just on the announcement, it caused Apple to gain 2.3 clocking in a new all-time high. Absolutely crazy.

Moving on very quickly, Carvana, in case you missed it I Know it's been all the buzz lately. Carvana shares jumped more than 30 percent on deal to reduce debt by 1.2 billion. So that's all because of a restructuring of their notes. But on top of that, they also got approval for dilution up to a billion.

So Carvana, this is a high flying stock. It's been absolutely ripping. I mean today? How much is it up? It is up 37 alone today I Missed this move I was trying to get in around 39.40 obviously I missed it I Am not chasing it, but it is on my watch list because we know when things go up like this, it does not last, especially when dilution is being discussed. Eventually this comes down I Don't know when it's going to come down, but I very much think it's going to come down and it's going to come down very, very hard.

So I'll be looking to play that on the back side. I Miss it if you caught this trade. Massive. Congrats to you I Wanted to let you know why it was up so much today basically shaving off 12 15 of their debt.

That's good news, but we also all know how the way of dilution ends up really going barbin. Heimer Bear Ben Hamer Opening weekend could top 200 million a jolt for Hollywood Soft Box Office Warner Bros Barbie and Universal Z Oppenheimer opened this weekend dub Bear Binheimer. The two films are expected to collectively boost the domestic box office. Barbie's expected to tally upwards of 140 million in ticket sales and Oppenheimer is set to grab as much as 60 million.

I'm actually kind of surprised they're expecting like, on a relative basis Barbie to really outperform Oppenheimer All in a whole reality, end up seeing both. So uh, I Just want to let you know that some soft box office may be getting a bit of a jolt. Speaking of a bit of a jolt, this is the seasonality for tomorrow. S P 500 Seasonal bias for Thursday July 20th Over the past two and a half decades, over the past 25 years, the Bulls have won this day 76 of the time.

Three out of four times the Bulls win. This day, the profit factor is 3.37 as in every dollar spent in a bullish bet has returned 3.37 Bias Not just bullish very bullish. And that's a look at the equity curve of buying it open, selling it close. I did it on the S P 500 futures Market which opens up at technically 6 PM the night before.
But anyway, you get the vibe that this is a very, very bullish day. Now is that a guarantee that it plays out? No. I mean I think if anything, it's going to be super dependent on Tesla super dependent on Netflix But we're gonna see how it all really ends up going. So that's what I have for you for right now in terms of the wrap-up of the day.

What to pay attention to the evening? What to look forward to tomorrow In terms of macroeconomic events: Thursday It's going to be a normal third. Thursday We get the initial jobless claims, existing home sales, leading economic indicators, and then there's actually nothing on Friday so just want you to know about that. Now if you want the seasonality yourself, Macquares.locals.com pin to the top of chat in the description of the video I Get this out for completely free and then I talk about other things and that's behind the 10 a month premium subscription such as an hour ago I said I have no clue what's going on. This is some of the strangest price action we have seen in some time.

I bought a few more SPX calls on the recent dip to help lower my average I'm attempting to seriously de-risk if the opportunity presents itself. Be careful, good luck Godspeed! Now the dip that I was referring to when that happened was actually right in here. so I was a little bit early and when I saw it dipping I was yelling I was screaming I was in unhappy camper and then I came back to my screen. about half hour later I was like oh wait, that's back where I got in and then I was like maybe that's the trick maybe every time I leave it goes in my favor.

So I left to get ready for this and by the time that happened I missed my opportunity to de-risk So it's safe to say that I am very very very uncomfortable with this position and I need to do something I don't know what to do but I need to do something. Nflx was looking really good. Now it's getting hit so not the biggest fan of that. Uh Tesla trading at 292.

we're gonna see how this all goes. Um, we're gonna see how this all goes. so we have about 10 minutes so that Bell goes dingety ding ding ding a little bit. after that we're going to get the early report from the Tesla numbers and the Netflix numbers and then at 5 30 is the actual earnings call.

My question to you is do you guys actually want me to stream the call at 5 30 or do you just want me to stay here longer till the initial numbers come out at like 4, 4, 15 or whatever time that is does anyone know off the top of their head? what? like it's usually like 405, 410, 450 and anything like that. which would you guys prefer? Which would you prefer? which would you prefer? Double Down I Literally don't have enough money in my account to Double Down like I just. it's actually feasibly financially mathematically impossible for me to double down at this point. show positions.
Uh, they are right here. so I could just chalk this SPX trade up to break even if I wanted. They basically cancel each other out so maybe that like I'm think I'm thinking just cut this and like why take on the risk type of a deal Netflix I'm feeling froggy I want to swing it and Tesla I have the 21st and the 28th. So like and they kind of cancel each other out too men I'm happy with men I'm swinging I'm not touching this.

My question is I just don't quite know how I want to handle SPX here? Uh, it's just too much. It's a 60 000 position I need to de-risk I can't be swinging this this position. so I need to do something I need to do something I need to do something. A shirtless earnings report.

That's quite the suggestion. Quite the suggestion you have there, all right man. I Really just wish I cut the what was meant to be the day trade SPX call at 456 when we got back up there I Just I wasn't paying attention. That's on me.

That's uh, that's uh, an unforced error if you will. But who knows. maybe we'll get some sort of crazy movement in the final seven minutes of the day that will allow me to de-risk Um I need? Oh, actually, we don't have much time. so I need you guys? Oh, hang on I'm just gonna do a poll so we can get the numbers on.

Rumble you'll have to comment uh A Tesla I Need you guys to vote very very quickly so we can run through two of these? All right? Uh, bullish or bearish on Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote vote. Um on Rumble Feel free just to comment and I'll I'll read what everyone's saying over here. Cut it, dump it, dump it, take the risk off the table. yeah.

I definitely need to take the risk off the table. It's more of a question of like how interesting I need to trick off the table type of a thing. Um, you guys voting isn't Tesla's earnings coming out in a few minutes? Pretty much pretty much pretty much pretty much with Tesla trading at 292. I have 300 calls and 305 dollar calls and I also am in Netflix for like I think 790 or something like that 490 excuse me 490.

Tesla 305, Tesla 300 and Netflix 490. All right I Hope enough of you voted I hope enough of you voted. End Poll: Uh. 226 of you voted and a three-quarters of you were bullish.

Interesting. all right Now let me do another one. Uh uh, we'll do one for Netflix Get Ready Get Ready Get Ready I'm putting it up. Netflix Uh.

Bullish. Bearish. All right. All right.

All right. All right. Uh. bullish.

This one's on. Netflix the Netflix one is up dude. spy getting everyone is jockeying from position. Oh, this is the 355 Algos Running hard right now right at 355.

like clockwork, we see some sort of jolt. This is now the second day in the row that the jolt has not benefited me. so that's a bit of a bummer. That's a bit of a bummer.
Oh I need to make some sort of I need to take some risk off the table. It's not acceptable for me to have this much risk on. dude. SPX that one just burning me, burning me, burning me burning me.

How much do I want to cut on this? uh dude, cut it. I am it's more of trying to pick the time to cut it I know it like and even beyond that I can manage uh Netflix I just kind of want to hold it because I know Netflix can go crazy um Netflix I don't think it's even that insane if we're talking the low 500s like I know that's ridiculous to say but like I very much see a feasible way in which we're in the low fives tomorrow if if it's good guidance if the market is reacting well to the add tier plan. four minutes, dude. cut it.

Get out of the Spy uh yeah, it's more of like a proportionate thing of like how much do I want to get out of because I have ones that are in the money and things are looking nice SPX yeah those ones are in the money looking good looking manageable. It's just a question of how like I just I kind of want to just scale things down. it's just like okay, do I get out of out of the 125 Do I drop like 75, carry 50. Do I just get rid of out of the 15 lock in 18K and then maybe cut half of these something like that.

maybe take all 18 and then so 18K gain and then maybe like a 10K loss so it's still net ahead on the day and then I could carry some of this overnight and then maybe carry just decisions, decisions decisions decisions. but I don't have much time. Oh wait, I was trying to scale out here and unfortunately just didn't get hit on the other ones. All right.

So I got rid of the ones for Friday I'm just scaling down I'm I'm keeping things under control all right. and then let's get rid of how many of these do I want to get rid of if I get rid of 50 What time is it all right? Okay, I got rid of 50. just de-risking so that was about half. um and then I have Tesla Tesla meta I'm keeping I'm not touching that one Tesla this is for the 28th so that is one that I could leave run 30k 30k.

Dude, this is all still quite a bit of risk. Should I shave off more of SPX shave off more of SPX So I de-risked quite a bit. but I'm thinking about I have a minute to decide if I want to take off 25 more of these. Another third of this.

another third bringing the BET down to 20K I feel like I should uh, is it gonna get filled? It got filled. Okay, so I just chose to de-risk um which I think is I don't know. Maybe it's a smart move. maybe it's not the smart move, but um, there we go.

So I cut the SPX ones for Friday I cut more than half the ones for tomorrow I'm carrying Netflix and I'm carrying Tesla Uh, so that was my risk management. I mean I had too much money on the table. Um, and it just not worth it because yeah, it might go my way and it would be a huge gain or it could feasibly go the other way and I could 100 blow up my account so that's how that could work. So obviously I want it to go my way and I am good.
Of course there's that voice in the back of your head where you're like, well, well imagine if you held everything, how would you be up here. But on the flip side of it is, let's just say it's roughly a 50 50 chance if it goes the other way and I blow up my account. well that's something that's way way worse. I would much much much rather deal with like oh I could have made more money rather than like oh I actually just blew up my account so it is what it is and we're gonna I'm gonna wait here for a second and see what is going on.

Does anyone know when the numbers are released off the top of your head? I Had it written down somewhere but I can't seem to find it. Does anyone know? Does anyone know uh uh, what's Netflix doing? Oh, this is just low liquidity stuff. If you throw up the volume, this is people just making bets and doing random things before the numbers come out like it. You have to wait for the numbers to actually hit.

Oh right here. Netflix Six seconds ago Netflix See uh Q3 oh, it missed 852 Netflix streaming pay net change. Oh whoa, look how many more subscribers they got? 5.89 million When the estimate was two, they almost tripled it. so the revenue came in soft.

but I think the market is going to be paying attention to that. Where are we at? So that's why it popped. but then so a bit of a mixed bag in the report for sure. Um, but this is crazy.

Netflix Q2 Streaming Paid Net Change Plus 5.89 million when the estimate was just over two? Interesting. Interesting. Revenue Yeah, so missing by .11 Billy Earnings per share crushed 3.29 versus an expectation of 2.85 rolling out paid sharing to almost all countries today. folks.

I Don't get why Netflix isn't way higher on this. Like to me, this is amazing I I Don't know why we're not at 500 right now I that I mean beyond that slight Miss in Revenue everything else is astounding. but it wasn't just astounding, it was fucking crazy good. Crazy good.

Uh United uh estimate EPS Beat and sales beat. So United across the board beat as we kind of predicted after we had the Delta numbers. Netflix Barely missing there earnings for Sarah beat and that paid change. That's a huge jump dude.

how is this not at five hundred dollars? Baloney baloney baloney baloney. Do we know the Tesla numbers? Does anyone know the Tesla's number? Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Like it's gonna be has to be reported soon. Um dude, how is this thing not rip Rip? Honestly, it doesn't make sense that it's not ripping. Where'd we actually get to today? Uh, 483 40 was the intraday high and this post-market action went from 495 as the high to 449 as the low.

Someone got some good fills. Someone got some really bad fills too. Oh what are you doing Netflix What are you doing Netflix Uh, Tesla's numbers must have just come out. What are they Tesla Tesla Tesla The numbers had to just drop.
We saw a huge move. Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Tesla Anyone know the Tesla numbers? Anyone know the Tesla numbers? Netflix's numbers are out. Are they just not live right now? Netflix Earnings are out here. The numbers EPS 329 versus 286 Revenue 8.2 billion when they're expecting 8.3 And we know that the numbers in terms of the signups absolutely crushed Tesla or Tesla's number is not out.

Tesla dipping for sure Tesla dipping for sure I don't know if the numbers are actually out Tesla Reported quarterly earnings of 91 cents per share which beat the analyst consensus of 82. Uh beat on earnings be on Revenue Free cash flow was a big Miss start of production of Dojo training computers rev so revenue and EPS both beat yeah revenue and EPS both be uh for Tesla and it got hit off that currently down three dollars um right now Netflix muted reaction uh Tesla may be coming back up to where it closed off by almost three bucks. Hey Matt I Haven't watched your show in a few weeks. have you gotten your Krypton Voyager Yes, if you're on Voyager you should definitely get yours out All right.

Tesla Coming back to Now it's green. Is it gonna move? queue starting to go up Tesla 283 We saw it as high as 299.50 today though. so I feel like it's not really that exciting unless it gets above 300. unless this thing really gets going going Netflix down from its clothes.

Oh now Netflix back to break even Now it's down. dude. this is so volatile all over the map. spying cues popping a little bit a little bit a little bit.

just wait for the call. Elon is speaking Yeah but that's in hours like that's in an hour and a half. I mean what matters is the numbers. Of course they could say other things such as like guidance and what not on calls but the actual reports that are like filed with the SEC That's what we know.

the revenue. We know, the earnings per share. They can put other things in those reports. um what else do we have I Just want to know Nissan Just announced it has signed an agreement when Tesla to adopt a North American charging standard.

Nacs well that was from this morning. Try to listen and test the space and folks that are mostly Tesla famous or terrible. Not sure they understand how to read earnings. It's a beat.

Miss Tesla affirms full year 23 vehicle production at 1.8 million versus 1.31 million year over year. Tesla's gross margin 18.2 that is bullish. They coming in below 16 would have been a little suspect. I I Think both of these stocks should be up and both of these stocks should be moving right now.

Um, this is somewhat of the reason why I hate playing earnings because I come up with a theory and then sometimes even the theory hits I'm like, oh, okay, that's what I was looking for. That's what I was looking for. That's what I was looking for and then the stock does something different. So that's why I'm not the biggest fan of playing earnings I mean it's fun if it does exactly how it should play out.
But then there's things like this where I mean to me: Tesla should be over 300 right now. to me, Netflix should be over like 490 495, maybe even 500. And yet Netflix is down at 463 and Tesla's up. It's up five bucks in post Market close out at 291.26 currently trading at 295 so it's up one percent.

But I mean when your margins are better than expected, your EPS is better than expected. Your revenue is better than expected. You could argue that the free cash flow if that could be a little bit of a drag and on Netflix you could argue that. Okay, maybe the EPS wasn't there, but no, the EPS was there.

The revenue was a slight Miss but everything else was phenomenal. So in both of these situations, I would argue that there was like one thing that stopped it from being Stellar. But beyond that, the numbers are good. Um, so that I don't know.

at least Tesla's green Tesla's green Netflix is actually now down by fourteen dollars. Dude. Netflix Get your shit together man. Doesn't make sense.

Sell the news. Full effect. Yep. Another interesting reason to potentially not play earnings is even if you're right, there is a reason.

we have the saying by the rumor, sell the news. Now that it was out and it beat what people thought and people were betting on it beat. Now you have people just taking their profits so fully fully fully could be because of by the rumors, sell the news. Uh, it's overvalued news about to sell.

Well, you could argue everything in the market right now is overvalued, especially Tech plays. But yet, guess what's still been going up these Tech plays You Could argue that this stuff was overvalued like 50 freaking percent ago and yet it kept going I Agree with you. Eventually it comes down. But to think that like this is the day it finally turns I mean I With the numbers that were reported, it could be like I'm not gonna sit here and be like no way like this is gonna cause it to go but the numbers that were reported were still ahead of expectations majorly on Tesla and also somewhat on Netflix dude Netflix getting hit there but the spy and the queues are actually holding right now.

Guess they're down slightly slight baby now. Well definitely making me uh happy I de-risked which I de-risked at the appropriate time. Ual beat um on both like this was I mean we we predicted this on Thursday when we got the numbers from Delta just because they're such related businesses. if Delta beats good chance United beads and now United is up a dollar fifty in post Market Um so I this is awesome if you played it uh, kind of a easier one.
Someone just said Tesla crashing dude, chill out this is not Tesla crashing uh uh, you said we won't know into the call we won't know what I don't under you know that a lot of numbers were just released for both Tesla and Netflix that were they're gonna be part of the earnings call but the earnings report is released beforehand. So the people in here who are just saying like we have to wait for the call. A lot of information just came out like a lot of information just came out. so I'm I'm getting confused by that.

Uh, obviously sometimes the report is good or bad and then the call can do the opposite depending on what is said. What isn't said? Um for during the whole 2021, a lot of people were just like refusing to give guidance and because of that, people didn't like it so much. Apple was actually a big one of like not giving guidance. Um so of course like yes, things can very much change on earnings but also I just trying to clarify that a lot of important things did come out uh uh if they say AI 74 times Tesla will hit 400 I hope they do I hope that I hope the whole call is just them saying AI over and over like no other words, just hello.

This is Tesla's Q2 earning on Netflix too I Think they should just do it together and they should just go back and forth as like leadership teams and say ai ai Ai ai So really, the last thing missing right now is guidance. For whatever reason, a lot of these companies tend to give their guidance on the call rather than in the report. so we're waiting on that. We have to wait for guidance which I believe it's at 5, 30 and 6 p.m respectively.

ET uh Tesla coming out first at 5 30. that's when the call is I believe Elon even had the Tweet out for that. So as of now this is it. We're not going to have much of a change.

The report is out now. We're just waiting for the earnings call, so earnings reports have dropped. We're waiting for the earnings call, 5 30 and I believe 6 p.m respectively for Tesla and Netflix Um Well, even though I'm really happy I ended up de-risking on this situation obviously I wish things were just ripping instead I wish I had the whole thing of like saying oh man, I should have kept everything on opposed to ooh why didn't I cut more right now But dude Netflix is down to 456 how is Netflix down to four? It's down 20 bucks. That makes no sense to me.

It makes no sense to me. and now Tesla's Tesla's actually technically right now too. This is crazy. Um, and this is part of the reason why I hate playing earnings is because sometimes the market just it doesn't matter.

It could be a beat and things could drop. It could be a miss and things could pop. That happens commonly in the market. Oh, and it's yes.

obviously. Beyond Frustrating Beyond Frustrating Beyond Frustrating. So that's what it is for now. Obviously, if you're in, Tesla if you're in, Netflix if you're paying attention to the overall Market you might want to be listening to that earnings call.
So just want to put that out there once again. 5 30 and I believe 6 p.m If you haven't already. uh, sign up for Locals Macquares at Locals.com It's pinned to the top of Chat it's in the description of the video I give you the seasonality for free and then some of our other conversations and whatnot. but you could try it out for one month for free by putting in the code. Goonie? That's what I have for you for now. Let's hope that by the time we wake up and check out the market, everything is gorgeously green. That's what I'm hoping for.

It doesn't seem too optimistic by now, but it feels like a lot of things will be changing a little bit later. Netflix Already guided for more subscribers in Q3 but light eps? Uh, interesting. All right I Want to look into that I Want to read through both of these reports and see what's going on? That's what I have with you for right now I'll catch you later. Sign up for locals.
